Jake Gyllenhaal brought Thanksgiving to London last night - to Chelsea, to be more precise. After what seems like an age, we have a new photo of Jake, thanks to IHJ. Yet again, for as long as the hair and the cold nights grow, Jake shows that no-one wears a beanie and scarf quite like he does. We've missed you, Jake!
The party took place at the Chelsea home of Richard Rogers and Jake wasn't the only American there. Reese Witherspoon and Gwyneth Paltrow were also there - in shoes with extraordinary heels.
Pictures from IHJ and link.
Good word today: fortions. Very Jake-like. Building forts, having fortitude and good fortions in life and in cookies. Wonder if Jake ate or if he helped chop cilantro in the kitchen. On second thought they probably don't let him chop anything anymore. Rumour has it a big part of the Disney PoP contract was "The Prince must have ten (10) whole intact moving working bendy fingers." No wonder he can hardly wait to finish PoP so he can get back to chop-chop. Post PoP Jake: Fat happy and fingerless.
ReplyDeleteLOL Question of the day: Finding Jake's finger in your food. Would you give it back so he can reattach it or would you keep it?
ReplyDeleteHi there Phyllis Phalange - now there's a name to conjure with. Here's hoping Jake retains all his well-loved digits!
ReplyDeleteHope everyone's had a good Friday and is as ready for the weekend as I am :D
I would be tempted to roll it up in my napkin and put in my purse. Normally I'd be disgusted and grossed out sick finding such a awful bloody thing in my food but if if was Jakes I'd be thrilled!
ReplyDeleteNow that's not very nice - I'd stick it in my ice water glass as quickly as possible, call 911, the paramedics and the nearest microsurgeon and get it back on that beautiful hand asap! All the while giving lots of reassurance. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy word today is Jezat! Reminds me of Shazaam! Something very Prince-ly of Persia-ly. Nice to see Jake, I love his beanie. :)
Oops, now my word is nablutox - I hope my post doesn't sound like I'm under the influence of it! ;)
OMG Take it and Run, I think I'm feeling a little queasy... ;D
ReplyDeleteHi Anon :) My word is covessi, which sounds like the kind of 5* resort I'd like to run off to with Jake :D
Reese's shoes. How long are these heels? 20 cm? How does the woman even walk in them?
ReplyDeleteOK, got distracted a little;)
Another song which makes me think of Jake and all the men I've ever had feelings for-"Tell him" by Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand.
My word is "farth". Quite ugly, really.
And what on earth are you talking about, people: fingerless Jake???
Hey Zodiac! Those heels are staggering - literally. I fear for my carpet just looking at them :D I know that song! I'm preferring to think of Jake with all of his digits happily attached! My word is now fletioni, which is a favourite type of pasta, or at least, should be. Farth is not a fave word of mine... Hope you're having a lovely evening - not too snowey I hope :)
ReplyDeletejeeci? ewwww! Im about to urp to begin with thinking of a finger in my soup. no matter who's. what if it got stuck in yr throat, you would be urping all the time.
ReplyDeleteI like Jake's coat alot, but fear Reese may fall over on her nose. I dont like Gwyneth's coat at all.
Wonder who else was at the T'G party? Cant you Brits stalk a bit harder? Can't we demand a living Jake stream :D or something?
Puppies are snoozing all in a pile. G'nite, y'all - have a great weekend!
I miss typing "Jake Gyllenhaal" on Google news and getting news about Jake, NOT about Reese.
ReplyDeleteI miss having HIM as the main issue and not just between comas (Reese Whiterspoon, who's dating Jake Gyllenhaal, blablabla).
I miss Jake on the streets of Santa Monica.
I miss Jake's regular hair.
I miss the athlete side of Jake and his male friends.
I miss Jake - the leading man.
Period.
"but fear Reese may fall over on her nose"
ReplyDeletePia, don't worry... the super-chin would save her nose. Gosh, she's got an elbow where she's supposed to have a chin!
LOL!!!!! ^^
ReplyDeleteMy word today is skersest. What's that? "The skersest movie I've ever seen"?
;-)
Good morning everyone! Weekend at last :D At my word is slitti - charming...
ReplyDeleteMorning Pia :D urgh at the finger in the soup. I saw a photo of the architect host and he was wearing so much colour, I'm not surprised Jake et al were in black or white... I really don't like Gwyneth's coat. I love Jake's, I love his hat, I love his scarf. In fact, I think he looks so beautiful here and not too chilly.
Hi there Monica O! I will be very glad when the focus is on Jake the leading man and star in his own right again. PoP will do that, but hopefully it will happen before then.
Good morning Anna! Hope it's not too chilly up where you are :D
Good morning! Normally I wouldn't have commented, cause I didn't want to just bitch about Jake for again wearing that beanie! Damn you, Jake! I WANNA SEE YOUR HAIR! I am still waiting for the shot that will give me peace, cause it will show your hair looking natural... You know, I think I would really love the long hair on you (I had a few THUD moments seeing some of the first pics...), but it always looked so stiff in most of the pics -and even when I saw you in motion on ET... Aarrgghhh! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSo, I didn't want to comment, but I had to... Because my word today is ounwort which is "Unwort" with an "o" in front, which is the German word for faux-pas word! LOL!
My faux-pas word of the day: Beanie!!!
Earlier this morning my word would have been something that sounded like a magic word (but I have forgotten what it was exactly). Damn, I should have memorized it. Maybe if I had said it out loud the beanie would have magically disappeared...
LOL, off to take my medication...
Oh, Jake, I still love you - with beanie and stiff hair and all...
Have a great Saturday everyone!!!
Oh, forgot one thing: LOL at phyllis phalange and Jake's finger in my food... And LOL at take it and run
ReplyDeleteHaven't yet decided what I would do with that finger... Um, I think I really need to take my medication now... :D :D :D
Nah, don't worry Jake! I'd give it back! ;) After I recovered from passing out at the sight of a finger in my food... Unfortunately it would probably be too late by then - so I could still keep it... ;D
My word this time: pardible
Sounds like a real word - I just don't know what it could mean...
I miss typing "Jake Gyllenhaal" on Google news and getting news about Jake, NOT about Reese.
ReplyDeleteI miss having HIM as the main issue and not just between comas (Reese Whiterspoon, who's dating Jake Gyllenhaal, blablabla).

I'm SO with you on this, Monica. You don't even know how much. Sigh...
Wow sounds like a fun party - have you ever heard of that game or whatever it is where you are asked to pick someone, some great person, world leader, celeb, etc. you would like to sit next to at a dream dinner party? Well, Salman Rushdie and Jake would be my choices! *Sigh.* What conversation there would be. I'd have to try not to stare at Jake and get lost in those eyes. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope we get some more pics, or more of what's happening with PoP!
Referring to my last complaining comment about my leading man being just a lousy "man in a supporting role", my word today is "reeseless", which means "back-to-where-Jake-belongs "
ReplyDeleteHow come there are NEVER any pics of Jake out and about in London when Reese is back in LA, except for the one time when he was wearing that brown jacket?
ReplyDeleteCould anyone explain this one thing to me?
Yes, I've changed my profile picture.
ReplyDeleteHello there everyone! Good to see you. I've been taking a long drive north through freezing peasoup fog to see my mum for her birthday :D We're having an evening with Indiana Jones :) Jake wasn't available...
ReplyDeleteHi there Uli! Hope your journey home was good. I'm very glad you did comment! Gotta say though, I'm loving the beanie - it's vey 'brcal' as blogger tells me. I don't think I'd do so good if I found a finger in my food - I don't think Jake would be that happy if his finger fell off in my food either.. but he is such a lovely generous chap :D
Me too Zodiac :/
Hi Anon! Imagine sitting next to Jake at dinner? I'd go to pieces and worry to death about accidentally flipping a carrot head over tails onto his plate and embarrasing myself, all while looking into his eyes while drooling. Hard to resist eh?!
Waves at Monica O :)
Zodiac! You're looking scorchin'!!!! All I know is I wanna see pics of Jake being Jake and doing his own thing. Sigh... Zodiac, you are looking good! Love the new you *)
Hope everyone's having a wonderful evening :D
Maybe Jake is working and he has time off when Reese comes?. I don't think we have had pics everytime Reese has been over.
ReplyDeleteHi WDW and everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo happy to see you Jake, beanie and all...:)
Monica, I guess we'll be able to have back Jake the leading man when finally we'll get to see one of his new movies on the big screen again. Untill then, we are lucky if we have news at all.
Zodiac, in these last three months we got to see Jake by himself out and about in London just once and just once with Reese. Truth is we got to see him rarely, and this is unnerving expecially because we were expecting much more.:/
2006 has been the year when we had the chance to see Jake almost everyday, doing his own thing with his male friends and his dogs and such but that has been also the year when he probably worked the least. He was alone most of the time yes, but maybe he felt alone too, who knows.
I for me don't miss that time. That time is gone. I want him to work on new projects and if that means to see him less, it's ok with me but, please, give me new movies to remember and to watch no end.
My word is reestor: sounds sweet. :)
A good evening to everyone...
Hi Anon :D It certainly makes sense for Jake to have time off when Reese is here.
ReplyDeleteHey there Xenia! I really could do with seeing Jake more, that's for sure. I miss him. I like to think that the upside will be a lot of films in a row - just a shame they all got postponed, of course. But 2009/2010 should be full of Jake. But when he's working, he's so busy. And in London he's largely left alone - which is good (just not for us!).
2006 was a great year - 2007 even better! I'm happy for Jake to be busy now if it means plenty of movies. But it is hard getting such little news (especially when Jake is the subject of your blog :DD). But it'll be worth it, I'm sure. We're a patient bunch, usually!
have a good evening, friends :D (My word is ingomera - didn't I meet her once?)
Moseeba? right. I'd love to see mo of the ba.
ReplyDeleteRegret his career is being "handled" these days but I guess that has always been true. I recall him saying to Ellen about the Interview pictures "that's not me". . .
I hear Maggie and Peter are going to Inaugural Ball as guests - I bet they contributed to the campaign.
Ben K's comment assured me that Jake is doing a good job in PoP.
Hi, everybody! I feel yr pain, and also mine. WDW you are keeper of the flame, it can't be easy.
Uli, a pardible is obviously a part of a medieval clergyman's costume. Today I had inging (the present participle of the verb to ing) and now grandef, which is a musical term.
ReplyDeleteAnyhow, Jake - yes well I don't think there are that many photogs around normally so I guess we only see him when there are.
Hey WDW *
Tergis - a make of washing machine.
ReplyDeleteQuessest - the most quess.
ReplyDeleteSorry this is v. addictive ;)
lasup
ReplyDeletewhat Im about to have.
to sup - from the old french verb soper -
the pea soup for la sup is sexed up with some really great sausage.
having a great Sunday, reading Rilke, listening to Damnation of Faust and writing letters.
The puppies now have doggie snouts and are learning how to poop outside of their kennel. When they do, they get a treat.
I sure miss Jake as my daily treat for being a good person.
Hi there! I've been trying to do a post all evening (while watching Indiana Jones and Iron Man) on dialup and I swear it's made me turn the air blue with cursin'
ReplyDeleteThanks Pia! Love to be going to the party with Peter and Maggie.
Hey Nouskie :D Love your words, I've had some oddies and some have sounded positively rude :) Quessest, like that - you can never have enough quess... I may sew that on a pillow :P
Hi Pia! That sounds like a good Sunday - posting at the same time :) puppies pooping - lovely, ahem. I've had a very nice day with my mum - humungous meal with a waiter who recognised by hoodie as coming from Melrose Avenue :D
