Nailed to be scored by Squeak E. Clean - and Heat gets hotter

The omens are good... Following on from Jake Gyllenhaal's recent cheery luncheon with David O'Russell - with both looking far too happy for it to have been a 'sorry, Jake, our film will never see the light of day' meeting - it appears that the score for Nailed is being composed as we speak. The composer is a Mr Squeak E. Clean, possibly related to Mr Colgate but definitely related to his brother Spike Jonze, director of John Malkovitch and partner of Michelle Williams.

Last month, Nailed was mentioned as the next project for DJ Squeak E. Clean (a.k.a. Sam Spiegel), working with 'Philadelphia MC Spank Rock'. Spiegel has worked with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Kanye West, Maroon 5, to name but a few and so this promises to be quite a soundtrack and one I imagine Jake would approve of. It also suggests that Nailed is still in production, still being made, and hopefully on its way to completion and not oblivion. I am hopeful.

Torso of the Week

Britain's Heat magazine this week continues to maintain its Jake credentials - for the third time, Jake Gyllenhaal is Torso of the Decade Week. Many thanks to my colleague for decorating my desk with the Prince of Persia for my return from lunch today.

  1. Great news about Nailed!!!

And YAY! for Jake being "Torso of the week" again!!!

It's funny though that they used the blue shorts pic to illustrate that Jake deserved the title "Torso of the week" at an earlier occasion... They could have used it to give Jake another title as well... Ahem...

Have a great evening everyone at WDW!!

  2. Awesome news about Nailed! And..mmmm....Jake getting "torso of the week" but really he should be torso of the century. ;p

  3. Hi Uli! This is great news! You're not gonna start scoring a film now if you don't expect it to come out. Sounds like it's moving again - makes me happy :D

OMG, I think I can guess which title you mean - Legs of the Week! I think I need to lie down...

Hey Get Real! Isn't it wonderful?! And definitely, if Jake's Torso of the Week, what are they going to do the remaining 51 weeks of the year? Have a blank page?

I'm so happy that Nailed is coming together :D

  4. LOL, right! Legs of the week! How did you know?? ;)

  5. Uli, I have no idea what title you're talking about... :D *thud*

WDW, I wish I had coworkers like yours! What a nice thing to do. I'm a totally closeted Gyllenhaalic so that could never happen to me. But my family and friends might suspect something since I have 2 magnets on my fridge of Jack Twist with a removable shirt and hat. They are awsome! The picture used for the torso is the one of Jake with the blue swimtrunks and let me tell you, that poor Jack doesn't get to wear his shirt often! :DDD

  6. Hi there Olympia! I know, I'm lucky, I quite often get little Jake treats :D

You have a magnet with removable shirt and hat! OMG, I want one of those! Yeah, I can see that the shirt might not be that necessary... Poor chilly Jack. I suspect your family may have some inkling then :D

  7. The template for the magnet was done by someone at Bettermost but I checked and unfortunately you can't acces the page anymore. There was an Ennis too but I could never acces that one. I remember people complaining that the pants weren't removable! :) Imagine having a pantless Jack/Jake on your fridge. That's a conversation starter! :DDD

  8. Wow, that would certainly be a talking point, Olympia ;D

I've just seen the news and great to see Barack Obama arriving in Blighty :D

I am so happy that Nailed is moving along - I know I've said it but I'm gonna say it again :)

  9. That is such great news about Nailed. At last something is moving in the right direction.

What can I say about the Torso of the Week, the Century, the Millennium.... I had a bit of a crazy day so this is just what I needed to see when I switched on my computer. Thank you WDW and your lovely colleagues for putting a smile on my face at the end of a hard day:)

You do have some really nice colleagues. Most of my friends and colleagues don't understand and think I'm a bit crazy for being a self-confessed Gyllenhaalic :) And as for my boyf I won't even start on what he thinks!!! He has been known to accidentally delete pics from my computer in the past though he swears it was an accident:)

Though I have to say I do have one friend on my side. Actually he is getting his sister to save her copy of Heat for me. Much love to him.xxx

Have a great evening all and thanks again WDW for brightening up my evening with such a great post.

  10. Thanks so much, Carol! This brightened up my evening too - good, good Nailed news and some appreciation for Jake's assets!

I have a relatively new job and so, whereas in the past everyone knew about my 'Jake thing', now it's just a select few! But it always goes down well when I let it slip :D Partners have to come to terms with it, unfortunately! Mine is extremely patient and humours me nicely :D I am so glad you have a friend who can get his sister to save the mag for you - that's lovely :) I hope you have a wonderful evening.

  11. My friend is the best. He even made me a 2009 Jake calendar. It works both ways as I support him with his obsession with all things sci-fi:) Even though it's not my cup of tea at all.

You're right about partners they just have to accept it!! Mine's probably not that happy at the moment as I made him sit through both BBM and Proof over the weekend. I still don't really like Proof after watching it several times. I just don't like Gwyneth in it and as for the chemistry between her and Jake there is none.

  12. That's so nice, carol, that your friend made you the calendar :) Mr WDW and I started off watching Proof and we just looked at one another and turned it off. Jake's gorgeous in it but the lack of chemistry is too painful. It's one for DVD for me, so I can flick through the Gwyneth scenes! I know some people love it but it's not for me. I'd love to ask Jake now what he feels about it!

  13. Mutwe... McGillicuddy1 April 2009 at 00:34

Great news about Nailed, WDW. If they are scoring it, that means they aren't going to consign it to a shelf in a storage closet are they! :)

I am deeply impressed with our British cousins' dedication to the beauty and perfection of the human form as embodied...in Jake's body. In this case the torso...which encompasses some very important "qualities" apart from his beautiful eyes, his amazing jawline, and his wondrous smile...

OT: Please take good care of our President. Many of us worked very hard to get him there. We like him...just the way he is...:)

  14. Hi, What is "spank rock"?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Hey Mutwe McGillicuddy! Great name! And yet familiar, I think I may know your second cousin... I'd place bets on Nailed coming out now - you don't score a movie you're not going to release - that's right up there in my guide to releasing a movie. And that's such a huge relief and is putting a big smile on my face. It's coming!

Jake has so many wondrous bits, it's great to see his torso repeatedly celebrated in print :D It's worth celebrating.

It's so good to have President Obama visiting the British Isles. I fear it's going to be all work but many of us are really happy to have him here :)

  16. Hey Anon, posting at the same time :D That is a very good question and I wish I knew the answer... Wiki says: 'Spank Rock is an American rap group. Their style is generally described as a mix of underground alternative rap and electro.' According to NME 'Spank Rock bring the joy, freshness and plain weirdness back to hip hop... great' They opened for Bjork once.

This could be quite a soundtrack!

  17. My very most favorite picture is the showering picture. I love all Showering!Jake pictures. He is exquisitely endowed...torso-wise:)

  18. Good morning everyone! A beautiful spring day out :D

Hi there Anon! the showering pics are just something else - no Jake film should be without a showering scene - it should be written in to the contract :D

    Have a great day everyone!

  19. Morning everyone. :)

Great news! Spike Jonze has a brother who's going to score Nailed! It's still possible for this movie to see the light of the day after all.

Jake is the best Torso ever, there's not even competition. Actually is the only Torso I can think about. Not to mention The Legs.;)

    Have a good day.

  20. Morning Xenia! I'm feeling pretty hopeful now that we will finally see Nailed - that is so great :D Yep, no need for anyone else's torso in a mag, or any other body parts :D Have a good day!

  21. The new U.S. president is very well spoken. I heard some talking head refer to him as "elegant of expression" and that is exactly right. He also is very poised and very thoughtful. I caught the press briefing between Gordon Brown and President Obama, and it was so cordial I thought they'd kiss at the end! :)I feel very hopeful.

  22. Hi Anon! I'm looking forward to seeing all this on the news this evening - by all accounts, it's been quite a day in the City! Great to see Obama and Michelle here :D

  23. What a way to end such a tough day... Torso of the millenium..errrr.. sorry week and President Obama in the same post... chocolate heaven :DD

Thank you... thank you... thank you (that's for the 3 'torso' pictures).

  24. Oh... and Fantastic news about Nailed... my baby, I love it already :DD

  25. I have been excitedly watching the Obama's make the rounds in the UK. Just saw video of them meeting the Queen! Love it, makes me feel very proud. :D

  26. And the weather looks great there in London. :)

On topic...Jake and his torso are hot. ;p

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hey Sheba! Yes, isn't it great?! And the torso's not bad either... Nailed sounds like it could be extremely entertaining and not a little quirky :D

Hi Get Real! I've been watching it too - it's just great to see. I've just seen Barack and Michelle arriving back at No 10 for the dinner, cooked by Jamie Oliver. I'm so glad there's such good weather for the trip - a lovely warm sunny day today :D

  28. C Span had the entire visit highlights. They showed the Queen's reception where all the dignitaries were present, and there was actually a camera crew wandering around so you could hear them talking! It was really great. I love Queen Elizabeth. She is just cute!

  29. Hi there Anon! I was watching it too - very historic. I had a chuckle at Barack giving the Queen an iPod!
