Last night, twitters were tweeting that Jake Gyllenhaal, along with Reese and her son Deacon, were spotted in the audience at the Billy Joel and Elton John show at Citizens Bank Park, Philly. The Insider this morning suggests that Elton John may have given Reese one of those 'why won't the earth open up and let me fall into it?' moments. Perhaps understandably, Jake and Reese left during Elton's set. Time to play Spot the Jake!
Update: Thanks to a new picture we can also see Ava was there for the show. Jake seems to be giving Deacon a better look at the cost of being able to see anything himself - loosen up, Deacon! (and many apologies to the people in the row behind...)
Many thanks to the Delaware online blogger/twitter for taking pictures! The Delaware account is here.
London
Last week, Penelope Cruz' new film premiered in a setting that Penelope described as 'the most beautiful place I've been for a premiere'. Viewers, including Maggie Gyllenhaal, filled the courtyard of London's stunning Somerset House to enjoy an outside premiere of Broken Embraces. Fortunately, the weather held off.
I was in Kensington myself yesterday for a spot of retail and wine therapy with Anouska and Ruby, hence some off-topic photos...
Wonderful "off topic" pictures WDW! Welcome back...did you have fun?!
ReplyDeleteHoping for more pictures of Jake out and about soon (and possibly the front of him instead of the back...LOL)! It was a slow week for new pics (thankfully we had a lot of PoP pics to help us while we wait).
Talk soon... :-)
Thanks BBMISwear :-) I'm in recovery today! We had a lovely time but I would like to say that I was forced to eat that chocolate mousse and tiramisu cake - I tried to fight it off, honest... Feisty thing.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm ready for pics too - of the front! I like this Twitterworld we're in though where it's easy for people to post pics, sightings etc, whereas before it would just've been by text. I hope Pittsburgh people (Pittsburgians?) are practising in readingess.
The PoP pics are keeping me going too - catch you later :-)
Good morning, wet dark!
ReplyDeleteTiny Dancer is a beautiful song. Has anyone seen Almost Famous? This song is in one of the best scenes of the movie!
I saw Public Enemies. It's a great movie with great performances. Marion is amazing!
About the previous post ... great news about The Love And Other Drugs.
In the first picture of the scans, Gemma looks like a young Catherine Zeta Jones.

ReplyDeleteI'm jealous!
have a great day!
Hi Monica! Posting at the same time :D Good to see you - you've been missed.
ReplyDeleteTiny Dancer is a fabulous song. I'm not sure I could cope with the embarrassment of having it dedicated to me! I'm glad you enjoyed Public Enemies - any trailer?
Hmmm, I like the Catherine Zeta Jones reference - I remember when she started acting on British TV as a very young thing. Very beautiful, and with character, like Gemma.
I hope everyone's having a good Sunday :)
It was very fine, Monica! No calories in it at all...
ReplyDeleteany trailer?
ReplyDeleteNo Brothers. Just Inglorious Bastards and other movies!
That Inglorious Bastards sounds intriguing...
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that Elton dedicated a song, love Tiny Dancer. Great to see Jake/them enjoying in the crowd. Personally I wouldn't have left early, but it seemed they were having fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw Billy Joel and Elton John perform together a few years ago, luckily got floor seats, front row and they on an amazing concert. One of the best concert experiences of my life.
That is nice that Maggie is in London and went to that premiere for Penelope C.'s movie.
Glad you too had fun in London, with Ruby and Anouska, WDW. :D
Rainy Sunday here...sigh...
In the first picture of the scans, Gemma looks like a young Catherine Zeta Jones.
ReplyDeleteI thought this too about Gemma. :)
I think is was very sweet, the dedication. :)
Hi Get Real! I saw Elton a couple of years ago, right at the front too. I've not seen Billy Joel though. Sounds like a good mix. How amazing you were right on the front row!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see Jake etc watching a show from the crowd and not from the wings.
Today, we're having our one day of sun. At last, we're getting a bit of cricket for the Ashes :D
Hi there Anon :D I like you saw that too :)
I love Billy Joel and Elton, they are wonderful, classic performers. I've seen them both at concerts, but separately, and I've adored them. The big brother of a friend of mine growing up is Billy Joel's guitarist, and we had our own cheering section for him! :)
ReplyDeleteMy word today is aingst, but I'm planning to have a great day anyway. ;)
Ooh I like that, Anon :D It's great when you get a connection to a big band. I remember seeing Radiohead when they were a local band starting out and now look at them! Have a great day :D
ReplyDeleteUpdated with a new pic :)
ReplyDeleteMonica! Almost Famous is one of my most favorite movies EVER! Right up there after Brokeback Mountain and neck and neck with Moonlight Mile! I thought of it as soon as I read the mention of Tiny Dancer. I remember when I learned that Brad Silberling talked to Cameron Crowe about casting Joe Nast in MM and how Brad would have to just accept the fact he was casting someone that was pretty much himself (like Cameron had to do with Almost Famous) and they talked about that. The writer/director's of my two second favorite movies being compared to each other like that...I loved it! (I know...a bit silly...but it made me happy anyway)! It's the little things...
ReplyDelete"Forced" to eat the chocolate mousse WDW?! We know that no one can "force" you to do anything you don't want to do...ha ha! I did chocolate mouse shots last night...is that close enough?!
Here's to Pittsburgh twitterers, photographers and bloggers!!
:-)
It's so long since I saw Almost Famous, I only half remember it. But with a recommendation like that, BBMISwear, I must search it out :-)
ReplyDeleteTalking of Brad, I have tomorrow off and I'm tempted to throw caution to the wind and see Land of the Lost! Y'know me and dinosaurs... Is that reckless?
Chocolate mousse shots are NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING compared to the monstrosity of a dessert I accidentally ate yesterday. Hmmm, I wouldn't mind some choc. mousse shots right now... I only have toast.
As usual the first comments on the pictures from the concert are about their "fake relationship" yes, they have ruined 2 1/2 years (before soon 3) of their lives and brought the children into it. They of course want to be the first so anyone looking at it will, they hope, believe it. But, we've got people who with proof right in front of their faces who still do not believe the President was born in the USA. And seem to be becoming more paraoid everyday.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it will be nice to be seeing pictures of Jake and Anne together again.
Hi Anon :) Just ignore the comments if you can and focus on the pics. I can't wait to see pics of Jake and Anne together - it's been soooo long!
ReplyDeleteThanks, BBM I swear!
ReplyDeleteI think during some conversations, Jake and Anne will remember BBM and will be a moment of great emotion!
Thanks for the photo, wet dark. Deacon is adorable child.
The Delaware blogger really ought to get his facts straight. Jake wasn't in the crowd with his happy family, he was there with his business associate and her other publicity props, otherwise known as her children. Depressing....
ReplyDeleteHi Monica :D You can bet that Jake and Anne will reflect on BBM in the next month or two. I'm so glad they're working together again :D
ReplyDeleteLove the "off topic" pics WDW. Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday. I spotted my favourite clothes shop Topshop in the background. I was in that actual shop on my last trip to London for work:)
ReplyDeleteLove the pics from the Elton John concert. I would be feeling more than a bit embarrassed if Elton dedicated a song to me. Tiny Dancer is a great song though.
I'm really looking forward to Anne and Jake working together again. It will be great to see pictures of them together again once filming starts.
Hey Carol! I'm so glad you enjoyed the off topic pics :D That is such a great street. We had some heavy showers and so were darting into shops, my fave being the Urban Outfitters. But my fave was Aveda round the corner - they made us tea :) Admittedly it was very odd tea, but even so...
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear I'm not alone in being embarrassed in the Tiny Dancer Scenario :D
Next month, it'll be good to see pics of Jake and Anne from his own filmset (mind you, I'd still love to see pics of Jake and Owen Wilson together!)
I'm very very happy to see that Anne and Jake will be working together again. I'm sure they will be thinking their work together on Brokeback Mountain. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too, Anon :)
ReplyDeleteoh god that first picture is so very unfortunate.in more ways than one.
ReplyDeleteand idk isn't it rude to have someone on your shoulders when there are people behind you who want to see the stage and you're already in one of the front rows? :l
My search for Jake Gyllenhaal in "Funny People" was actually successful, though only as the punchline of a joke. Jason Schwartzman plays a comic who has a successful TV sitcom, and he's trying to get a part in a movie, playing Toby Maguire's younger brother. :-)
ReplyDelete(Would we be loking forward to "Brothers" if Toby's brother was played by Jason Scwartzman rather than Jake Gyllenhaal? I thought not!)
Monica, I have a fairly serviceable recipe for Tiramisu that can be made with relatively low-fat ingredients. As for chocolate mousse, the chocolate mousse-flavored yogurt from Yo Plait is quite tasty, and not high-fat.
Billy Joel and Elton John? Hmmm... I don't dislike either of them, but I seem to recall Jake used to have, erm, younger (more exciting) music taste? Mmmmm.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Gretchen, i was thinking of the same thing, if I was the person behind Jake, I would totally be like, "hey kid, get off his shoulders, you are totally blocking my view. If anyone is to be on his shoulders, it should be ME!"
In any case, yeah, that's bad concert etiquette.
Yeah, can't wait for Jake to make a movie with Anne again :)
Morning! it's Monday, urgh.
Good morning everyone!
ReplyDeleteHi Gretchen! I definitely agree it's not good concert etiquette (as I politely reminded someone in front of me at a Robbie Williams show). At the front, there's not much need for acrobatics.
Hi Paul! I'm enjoying your search :D Must say, Tobey Maguire is much preferable.
Morning Winterbird! There's something very toe tapping and singalong about an Elton John concert :D Sorry it's Monday - ugh. I have the day off and I'm spending it with Brad Silberling's dinos :D
Have a good day everyone!
hey WDW i don't know if you saw this but a friend of mine brought it to my attention:
ReplyDeleteJake and Maggie will appear in Sesame Street!!omg!
# A parody of AMC drama "Mad Men." How hilarious is that?! When asked how they could parody such an adult show for children, they referred to an earlier parody they featured on "Sesame Street" called "Desperate Houseplants." Apparently, the show addressed how the plants weren't getting watered enough by their owner! Ahem. I'm totally blushing now.
# Celebrities such as Cameron Diaz, Kobe Bryant, Jason Mraz, Jimmy Fallon and siblings Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
link
wheeee!i'd love to see that.i missed his appearences on tv.i loved the SNL episode with him.i'm sure this'll be great.and with Maggie!brilliant.
lol i never thought i'd be this excited about Sesame Street at 23. =P (i did love it as a kid though)

ReplyDeleteLOL! I adore Sesame Street, always did love its humor when watching it with my younger siblings. Very creative, a wonderful program for kids. We gotta know when Jake and Maggie will be on. :)
Good morning, wet dark!
ReplyDeleteMonica, I have a fairly serviceable recipe for Tiramisu that can be made with relatively low-fat ingredients.
I want! Thank you!
I'm anxious to see this program. Thank you, Gretchen!
i watched Desperate Houseplants just now and omg it's full of sexual innuendos.hilarious.
ReplyDeleteDesperate Houseplants
OMG Sesame Street?! This is wild...and, yes, we definitely need to find out in advance when that episode will be on (although if it's the same as it was 40 years ago they will run episodes over and over again). All this makes me think of Electric Company (which use to be on right after Sesame Street - for the bit older crowd) and we of course all know who produced and wrote for that show! Fun Stuff!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday everyone. Have fun with Brad, WDW! I may try to hook up with Brad later today too...but in a different way...hee hee! :-)
P.S. I love Yoplait's other dessert flavors (lemon pie, key lime pie, etc.) but never tried the chocolate mousse flavor - great suggestion!
Hi there everyone! Just got back from seeing Land of the Lost (OMG Brad what were you thinking?) and The Proposal. I enjoyed that one and made me want to go to Alaska on my hols.
ReplyDeleteHi Gretchen! It's such a good story. Yes, I did see that, and it's in the new post. Loving the Desperate Houseplants! Sesame Street can always throw out these things to appeal to the 'adults'.
We really must, 15:27! It'll be such a laugh! It'll be good to watch Maggie and Jake together on screen again.
Hi Monica :D I could just eat some of that too, having eaten nothing but popcorn today.
Ooh thanks for the link Gretchen!!!
Hey there BBMISwear :-) You're a mind reader, I put some stuff about the Electric Co in the post too. I can't remember that one so much in the UK. Lemon pie... yum.
I hope everyone's having a good Monday :D
