Letterman raves for Brothers - 'The finest movie in the last 12, 20 years'

David Letterman is not a man to go over the top in his enthusiasm for the movies he sees for his show - 'most of it is junk' - but then Brothers came along. And Letterman can not stop talking about it, calling it 'The finest movie made in the last 12, 20 years'. 'There's not a false note in the entire thing'. At least he also gets Jake Gyllenhaal's name right, which is more than can be said for Tobey Maguire's. I want to post this clip quickly of Natalie Portman's visit to the Letterman Show this week because I don't think it will be on YouTube for long, but for now, all of us who couldn't see the show due to significant geographical reasons, we can grab a chance to watch it.

  2. Wow, Letterman loved Brothers!

As you said, WDW, Letterman does not go on and on about most movies. He is not one to gush at all and this was a shock to see Dave, who is a bit of a grouch, seem genuinely impressed and excited about a film. :D

  3. Hi WDW, thanks for the clip. I always enjoy watching Letterman, and like get real I didn't expect him to rave about this movie to this extent. And the fact that he was not just impressed with the story and the direction, but also with the cast performances...
Thank you so much for this,
    have a nice day

  4. Wooh it's great from david Letterman! Really I can't wait now!
Sadly in my country the realese isn't before february .

I don't very well the david Letterman show , I know it's one of most famous amerivan talk show but other than that nothing. Nevetheless I read he isn't ususally so enthousiastic about a movie, I guess it's a good sign for Brothers.
Thanks for the video. Natalie is sooooo charming!! Really class lady.

  5. Morning Get Real! You are so right - I've never seen Letterman gush like this. I loved how he said to Natalie how she must be very proud. It's so good for audiences to hear this!

It's great to see, isn't it. Paola?! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And how he was raving about the complete package, not just his guest's performance, but all aspects of it. I hope you're feeling better *)

Hi Samothrace :D I'm sorry you have such a long wait - that really is such a downside to this film - the wait that some people have, or the uncertainty that it'll ever reach them at all. I hope the DVD flies out. Natalie was lovely in this clip :D I prefer her without so much makeup on and I thought she looked fabulous here.

I hope everyone's having a good day. It's cold here, with more rain on the way, and I've been out and done my chores so I'm sealing the airlock! I may have a date with Benjamin Button this afternoon :)

  6. She is beautiful and seems more mature.
Jake should be interviewed by Letterman.

Brothers will have an exhibition in December at a theater in Rio de Janeiro. Why I don't live in Rio?

I sent an email to you. It is a review of Brothers.
