Updated to add the official new Source Code poster!
Love and Other Drugs has a release date for the Region 1 DVD and Blu-ray - 1 March. Not long at all and then, courtesy of a multi-region player, you will be able to see as much Jamie Randall - aka Jake Gyllenhaal - with his bag on wheels and all his other charms, as you want.
This is what we are promised: Funny Extended Deleted Scenes; An Actor's Discussion: Relationship between Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway; Beautifully Complex: Anne Hathaway describes Maggie; Reformed Womanizer: Jake Gyllenhaal is Jamie; Selling Love & Other Drugs; Digital Copy. Amazon details are set to follow in a few days.
I'm sure I'm not the only one to love the sound of those deleted scenes. No indication of a commentary but 'an actors' discussion' could be just what we need. 'Beautifully complex' - that sounds intriguing... and perfect.
Great news:)
ReplyDeleteThe extras sound promising. Got some of my family to go see it over the weekend and they really enjoyed it.
Glad to report that LAOD is still going strong in the largest cinema near me with loads of daily showings even now. That will probably change at the weekend though with the Oscar nom movies taking centre stage.
that sounds great :D can't wait to get it, I see hours and hours of lovely Jamie coming to all of us :)
ReplyDeleteI just Loved the movie it was exactly like I expected it to be..
WDW you always have great news :)
Ooh yes! That one goes straight onto my birthday prezzie list ;-)
ReplyDeleteI hope they will add directors and actors commentary though. It usually gives such great insight to the process of filmmaking and is also full of cute little anecdotes. The best extra's I've experiences on BR so far were for Sherlock Holmes. The detailed breakdown of some of those complex action sequences was very interesting. It makes you respect and enjoy all the work that goes into these creations even more.
What do you guys make of the Oscar noms btw? The best and supporting actor/actresses categories should leave little doubt imo (bacto: Colin Firth, bactre: Nathalie Portman, bsacto: Geoffrey Rush, bsactre: Melissa Leo) but what a dilemma to decide on best director and best picture...
P.S.: Happy Australia Day for any fellow Aussies here! I'm off to catch me a shrimp on the barbie and a ice cold beer (it's gonna be a stinker today ;-)
YAY! Not too long to wait for LAOD Blu-ray! All the extras sound really intriguing, too.
ReplyDelete@Lemniscate - I'm all for Fincher for Best Director and I'm leaning toward King's Speech as Best Picture. Regardless, 2010 was a pretty good year for some great movies - and we got TWO from Jake!
Susan
ooh, sound great! Start to save money.
ReplyDeleteJust saw this poster, doubt it's from a fan.

Hi Carol! Whenever I see a Jake DVD these days I'm always grateful for any extras I can get! It's still showing here, but late at night. There are so many big Oscar movies around this week though, as you say.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda! I can't wait to get the DVD. I'm so glad to hear you liked the film.
Hey Lemniscate! Ooh, sounds like a birthday is close so congratulations! I'm hoping they'll add some kind of commentary too. This is going to sound bad but I have the Sherlock DVD but I've not seen the extras yet. I should because I love that film. Extras are definitely a big part of the DVD experience.
I like the Oscar nominations on the whole. Slightly predictable but I can't help hoping that Firth will get an Oscar as well as Natalie Portman and Fincher - that would make me happy! And I loved Geoffrey Rush in King's Speech. But what a choice. King's Speech wasn't my favourite movie of last year. That would be Inception or Social Network. For me, best actor would be James Franco without doubt.
Hey Susan! Great to get all these Jake movies. Over here in the UK we got THREE Jake movies! Brothers came out a year ago exactly. I so so want Fincher to win best director. I want to see him get that award and I will smile so broadly you won't believe how wide my smile is :)
I've done a review of Morning Glory on MovieBrit tonight. I really enjoyed this film and it was a pleasure to write about it.
Hi every one!
ReplyDeleteThat is great, they must know how much money they will make with this movie! Each one of us wanting a copy. He,he. I'm not sure my player is multi-región but It should not take much longer to arrive Europe, would it?
I have to add, Javier Bardem for Beatiful. I haven't watched the movie. But it is always good for the Spanish actors and movie business here.
I vote for Fincher, I liked his movie. I have not watched the King's speech so I can't really say....
Enjoy the day Lemniscate !
I forgot to add, LAOD, is number 1 at box office after a week. ;o)

Updated the post!
ReplyDeleteHi Karmentxu :D
I don't think it'll take much longer, Eureka! At the press junket I saw people from DVD magazines from Europe who were there for the April issues. I really want to see the Bardem movie! I'll have to try and find a DVD. And that is fantastic news with the LAOD box office!! Thanks for posting.
Hi Sweetpea :)
I forgot to mention in all the excitement of the DVD and SC poster - it's Burn's Night! Have a great night if you celebrate!
April sounds fantastic WDW! Thanks for letting me know.
ReplyDeleteI have to look up the Burns Night, I'm not familiar with it.
Hi Eureka! 25 Jan is Robert Burns Night when the haggis is paraded to the table with bagpipes. I'm veggie so not much haggis consumption here but I love the idea of celebrating a poet :)
ReplyDeleteMorning everyone! Have a good day :)
ReplyDeleteBlu Ray sounds fantastic, I hate the poster!

Hi all! How I've missed being here. Sorry for my absence, these are rollercoaster ride weeks. In a good way, luckily. ;) I hope you're all doing well!
ReplyDeleteThe SC poster looks good and I can't wait for the LAOD dvd. The extras sound very promising. :) The movie is still doing well in cinemas here, still in the Top 5. I hope I'll be able to see it a 2nd time but I doubt it. Especially since I have loads of WDW posts to catch up with! ;)
Hi WDW... Welcome back... How's the trip? The pics is just magnificent for me, the views and the castles are truly wonderful...
ReplyDeleteGreat great news WDW!!!
Source Code new poster is intriguing somehow...
And LAOD DVD...Yesss!!!Finally... The special feature seems awesome, I'm so glad they put the deleted scene and many other things in the extra, cause I'm a little bit let down by Prince of Persia and some other movie DVD's special feature, so stingy...
The problem is I don't think my old DVD player support the DVD format for region 1, hope it will soon come out in Indonesia or at least UK and the most important thing, subtitle...:p Do US/UK's DVDs usually get English subs?
I can't watch the Oscar noms, how was that?
Thanks for the posts WDW!!! Glad to have you back :D
Seems that LAOD is doing so well everywhere!
ReplyDeleteCheers everyone!!!
Hey TD! I'm suffering conflict over the poster myself - it's very.... hectic. The blu ray/DVD news is, however, fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteGood news, H
Great to see you, Lady E! Hope the studying's going well. Enjoy the catch up and put your feet up :D
Thanks very much, Serene Hill - and it's good to be back with everyone here :) English DVDs do have English subtitles so I hope you can get one of those. The nominations weren't surprising but there was good news for Michelle Williams :D
Not sure what to make of the SC poster. But it's good to see the publicity ramping up for it:)
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI like SC poster, I don't like too much that image of Jake with the gun. Somehow it doesn't go well with his frown face. But the idea of the poster is OK for me.
I'm not sure we will have LAOD DVD 1 of March in Poland, because the premiere of the movie is 11 of February. But I'm looking forward to all the goodies from CD.
Hi Carol! It most certainly is :D
ReplyDeleteHey Mermon :D Jake looks kind of plonked into the SC poster. I like some of the other images in it but it's just too busy for me.
I really love reading and following your post as I find them extremely informative and interesting. This post is equally informative as well as interesting . Thank you for information you been putting on making your site such an interesting. Robert Burns,Burns Night
