To quote the words of the great George Harrison, all things must pass. Sightings today trace Jake Gyllenhaal's progress back to New York City - he was spotted in a book shop in Chicago's O'Hare airport and then on a flight to NYC (by the person actually sitting next to him). And so the Mumford and Jake tour is over and Jake can get a change of clothes. Judging by the photo below, it's not a moment too soon...
These photos were taken at the Farmers Market in Memphis (and posted by the Farmers Market Facebook). A perfect opportunity to model some lettuce, I'm sure you'll agree.
The Facebook of Memphis in May's International Festival has also posted a picture of Jake backstage at the Beale Street Music Festival, where Jake had supported Mumford and Sons from the wings.
I do have something worrying to report, however. Before Jake left Memphis, he was seen in a McDonalds. Clearly, it is time for Jake to go home.
Photos from links.
So, Kate, what you do have against Mickey D's, huh!? Not that I ever eat there if I can help it, but if it's good enough for Jake... Besides, do we even have any evidence that he actually ate any of the food? Maybe he just needed the restroom facilities... :)

ReplyDeleteHaha -- McDonald's serves coffee! Place your bets, place your bets!
ReplyDeleteHi Susan! I'm a fast food snob, I'm afraid. Being veggie doesn't help, but I can't abide these fast food chains and their progress though our towns here, not to mention the litter etc etc. But yes, maybe it wasn't him or maybe it was research!
ReplyDeleteThey do indeed, Gyllenhaalisgr8, not that I can imagine anyone wanting to drink it.
I hope you've all had a good day!
did anyone notice the hole in jakes pants he defintiely needs a change of clothes hes been in those pants for at least a week i think LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, MK! That's the reason for the title of the post and saying at the end of the first paragraph that it wasn't a moment too soon before Jake had a change of clothes :D
ReplyDeleteAgree with lots of comments above... that was about time... for the clothes, hard to say but the looks, and the food taste (ok about the coffee, or maybe he was just with someone that was going to eat there...not himself...lol). Hmm.
ReplyDeleteNYC will do him better!
Hi!
ReplyDeleteGeorge Harrison was really great. My first favourite Beatles, then it came John Lennon, when I grew up enough to appreciate him.
So great adventure is over, time to do some laundry, clothes repairing. I have to admit that Jake is this kind of a man, who always looks very fresh and clean to me. It must have something to do with his straight silhouette and wide shoulders :) So he looks always neat to me, maybe except the time when he plays basketball, but then is OK. He puts his heart and body into the game.
I like those pics from the market. White T-shirt suits him so well and he looks nice with growing dark hair and with relaxed smile. He seems to enjoy that pictures are taken. For a change. Not like chased movie star, but regular guy. That's nice.
I don't mind McDonalds from rare time to rare time. I'm not a fast food fan as well, but... When I am hungry and in rush and have that place on my way, I drop by. And coffee is OK :)
I kind of like the scruffy look... Jake sports it like he just LOOKS scruffy but doesn't like... stink or anything, but we all know he didn't change his clothes in a while. :D
ReplyDeleteMcDonald's - well, I guess I'm too much of a university student and too young, but I thank God every time I get a cheeseburger after partying. :D
Hey WDW, I think its just one of those days, huh? ;)
ReplyDeleteTD
PS I hate maccy D's even more than I hate lobster and I HAVE eaten both... (as previously discussed here 8)
Maybe Jake discovered one of those new inventions while touring with M&S, a hotel laundry service or a washing machine. Maybe he went to one of those place that were popular before online shopping, such as a department store to get fresh undies and tolietries.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Jake wore the same pants all the time without at least getting them cleaned, quite frankly a bottle of febreeze for clothing will do just as well as a dry cleaners. According to some tweets he was seen out shopping at stores.
Although if he's like most single guys, he will wear the same pair of jeans for 7 days straight as long as the underwear is clean.
uhmm....I guess that first photo answers the eternal question of boxers versus briefs....I too can't imagine Jake in the McD. He's always seen drinking some type of upscale coffees, eating in great little restaurants...I'd almost go with a ATM/credit card being maxed out on his card and McD was the last resort for food or he was using the bathroom...lol..how do you go with healthy food from the food market to the McD??? Lastly Jake, have the assistant keep a bag packed for those off the cuff trips. Those pants have a few tales to tell. I don't know who will need more rest, you or your pants?!! and lastly caveman, the only thing that looks remotely "clean" on or with Jake is the T-shirt, which I think he probably got a 3 pack of Hanes at a dollar store the day after the trip started. If he was seen in any stores, it wasn't to buy clothing or undies!!! Scruffy Jake, love ya!
ReplyDelete"it wasn't to buy clothing or undies!!! Scruffy Jake, love ya!"
ReplyDeleteHow do you know this? If Jake had been unclean for days, he probably would have smelled and someone would have tweeted it believe me.
THose pants might be torn but they do not look dirty as compared to pics in the basketball game from earlier. Why is it so hard to comprehend the pants could have been washed? Jake looks pretty clean in the Saturday pics. Unless you were there and got a whiff of Jake yourself.
I didn't notice until a friend pointed out he had a rip in his pants. I of course had a halo over my head and would never look there unless she pointed it out to me :D

I don't get all the excitment about not changing the pants for a week. When you shower daily and change your underwear (I give Jake that much credit) and don't have to do any major stunts you can wear a pair of jeans or similar pants for a week and NOT smell.
ReplyDeleteI should know cause my hubby does that all the time.
Funny that my hubby's pants tend to rip in a similar place.
About Mac-D: I have two toddlers so I end up at Mac-D every now and then (for some reason nobody cares for the fries thought), and I figure that if you eat healthy most of the time a "value" meal (what a term, ghee)won't hurt you, but it does seem strange for Jake to go there. Like Susan said, we have no proof he ate there.
Have a wonderful Monday everyone!
Morning everyone!
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything to add to TrouserGate except to say a) that it really doesn't pay to take a joke too seriously b)I did say last week that I thought Jake would be paying for his keep on the train by doing the laundry and c) I have a needle and thread ready and waiting, Jake :D
Have a good day everyone! May Day holiday here and I'm off out to be cultural today.
PS I agree TD - lobster... ewwww
to Jake the Caveman, I'd be willing to make the sacrifice and give him the sniff test to see if those clothes were washed. I would have been willing to wash them for him (again please take them off for me Jake :D)
ReplyDeleteWDW I already have a needle and thread ALL ready.

Hi Kate,
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed May day holiday ?!
Lots of posts I have to go through. I haven't managed it yet... Hope to get through all those funny pics and comments tonight :-) I went for some days off (Line Dance Workshop with some friends). We had a lot of fun there.
Good to hear the readers in USA are ok after tornados.
Have a nice evening everyone.
Christina
Enjoy your catchup, Christina - good to see you! I had a lovely day today, very full and I've only just got in. Shame the work week beckons :(
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing so hard at all the pants and McDonald's comments! It's so funny how different topics get people going. Always entertaining here WDW!!
ReplyDeleteAs for the pants...here's something scary...a picture of him in Chelsea, NY today has him in the same pants (I think). If they're not the same they might be a duplicate - maybe he has 4 pair of the same pants?! Ha ha - doubt it but it made me laugh anyway.
McDonald's does sound very non-Jake but we've all done crazy things when desperate! Their coffee is stepping up and actually they were serving Newman's Own Coffee a year or two ago so that says something. (Maybe Jake thought they still serve it and wanted a dose of nostalgia). Hee hee. Like I said - funny topics tonight!!
I hope WDW, Rubes and Rob had an adult cocktail for me!!
Until next time...
:-)
Talking about NY pic - here is one. The pants are alike, but probably not the same. The hole is gone :)
ReplyDeleteJake in NY
If Jake reads all that rumours about his clothes, probably he has good laugh.
In Poland we have one more day of a holiday today, so it's been really a long weekend
Morning everyone!
ReplyDeleteAn extremely busy and not very pleasant first day back at work - so it's good to hear your voices. I'll be back later with the new post.
Morning BBMISwear and Mermon!
Very sorry to hear you are not having a good day at work. I hope things get better for you. I look forward to your Jake in NY posts and anything else you might add

Hi WDW...
ReplyDeleteIt has been so much fun following Jake with Mumford and Sons,is it possible that he was researching for a new role, a musical one maybe..? haha;p
Dunno if this is relevant or not, but found this and everything about Jake is relevant, right?(And I love Moulin Rouge so much)

And I really love all the pics, the cabbage promotion was so fresh, and Jake with his 'Mum'... hilarious, plus love your Wildlife Interlude on the previous post.
Thanks for the posts WDW!!!
I thought that Jake died a few years ago.
