Trailer for Prisoners released - starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman

Are you sitting comfortably? Then prepare to move to the edge of your seat and chew those nails - the trailer for Prisoners starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman has been released and it is a thriller.

Things to note (obviously apart from the fine acting, cinematography and tension) - hair, tattoo, voice. A mix of Tommy and Robert? Interesting.... And did I say thrilling? What do you thing? Let me know in the comments.

  7. Seems Jake is as convincing an actor as usual.
And - as a true and devoted "Gyllenhaalic" - I AM convinced as ever!!!!!

  8. Hi y'all,

Hope all is well on your end?

Quick turn-around on the trailer. Nice.

Ok, have to admit, was skeptical when I read the initial synopsis. Is looking very dark, intense, intriguing and different enough (love the cinematography). Need to see more trailers though... before I'm convinced I need to actually buy a ticket to watch it on the big screen. The "hook", that charcoal drawing, sure sticks in my head already. ;-) Can't wait to see more!

  9. Sorry for posting anonymous...
Just can't be bothered with Google's 2-step verification when on the road. ;-)

And,... love the glimpses of Det. Loki character. Wide dynamic range, from minimal, detached, to totally losing his shit. Gyllenhaal is the perfect guy for the job!
I am chomping at the bit to see the first "An Enemy" trailer! I was totally sold on that project from the get go (2 Jakes for the price of one? Hell yeah! Bargain! ;-)

    cheers,

  10. Was just watching all the Prisoners-movie-stills on IHJ.
Oooooooooooooooh GOD, Jake even looks "edible" with his hair slicked back.
There are two scenes in BBM, where "Jack's" dark hair is slicked back, too. One is during the fight with "Lureen" in her study in 1973; the other is during the father-in-law-son-in-law-fight over the Thanksgiving turkey in 1977. Too much glue in his hair, still Jake is ... well, I guess you know what I mean, don't you, girls?

  11. For me Det. Loki is a mix of Tommy's look and Douglas investigation style. In one line I found even a bit of Dastan ;)@Antje, you're right! From Thanksgiving scene in BBM' Jake's buttoned till the neck shirt and anger seems similar too.
@Lemniscate "The "hook", that charcoal drawing, sure sticks in my head already." - same feeling, even the texture and colour of the paper.
What about the music? That pounding sound awakes anxiety, isn't it? And Jake seems as much important to the story as Hugh - fantastic. And it shows in a trailer.
    I like it!

  12. I can't WAIT to see this, hope it makes it down to Cornwall or it'll be a night out in Plymouth I guess.

It reminds me of Insomnia in some ways. I love intense thrillers :-) And Jake looks WOW!

  14. Awesome trailer for Prisoners! Everything about it says "INTENSE THRILLER." Already hoping they will release one or two more before long. Like everyone else, I can't wait to see trailers for An Enemy Within too. So much to look forward to this fall.

  15. Hello everyone! So food to see you! And the summer has arrived in the UK at last...

The arrival of these films, BBMISwear, will be the one consolation for the passing of summer! :-)

Waves to Maria, Sonja, Antje, Mermon, Amanda, Susan, Christina, and Lemiscate!

I see from IHJ that Jake is back in LA now, I wonder what he's up to...

  16. The latest LA paparazzi pics are awful. Jake very clearly does NOT want to be taken pics of - it shows in his angry face and his hand he holds out as if to fend/fight off this pesky paparazzo.
    Well done, Jake!!!!!

A bit of Jack/BBM in 'Prisoners'?
I don't really see it. Yet.
I must rewatch that trailer... life's hard, isn't it? ;-)
