Today comes good news for the few remaining inhabitants of Pittsburgh who have yet to sign on as an extra for Love and Other Drugs and who may even have been fearing that they would have to make do with a walk on part in the Russell Crowe movie being filmed down the street. Rescue is at hand, especially if, like me, you haven't cleared out your wardrobe for 12 years. There is no payment - except a donation made to charity - and you would have to spend upwards of 12 hours in the company of Jake Gyllenhaal. It's a tough job but someone (well, 400 people) has to do it. More info here - let us hope that someone gets a picture (make a note of the date and venue - 13 October at the Mellon Arena).
You will have noticed that this post is full of past and present Jake Incarnations. This follows on from my 1000th commemorative post from the other day. After looking at the film moments that have particularly stuck in my mind, I thought it would be fun to see in which of these wonderful roles Jake has made (or will make) your heart miss the most beats. I'm talking hotness here. The poll is at the side here and you can vote for more than one - this is because I suspect many people would vote for Jack Twist. In which case, I would like to know if there are any other of these characters that you would happily chat up. And I would love to hear why in the comments. The deadline is this coming Sunday.

When it's a wet, dark and warm night out there, it's good to spend some time snuggled up studying Jake's movie hotness! I went for Prince Dastan, Douglas, Jack and Jamie. I think that Jamie could be very sexy indeed - especially when wittily sparring with Anne's character. I could easily have had Swoff in there too though. It's a tricky one. I love Jack but is he as hot as Swoff? Hmmmm...
I really hope we get pictures from this big LAOD scene - I love hhow this is moving along :D

I love Robert Graysmith - Jake was amazing in that role - simply amazing. You're right, it's these inner traits of these characters which helps in making them so loveable - Robert was so single-minded, obsessed and made himself vulnerable. And Jack trying not to give up on love. And Douglas is most definitely a hunk! I think Jamie may be too :D
I think Jamie will be as well, and Howard, Dastan and Tommy too! I was drawn so much to Robert's vulnerability, and his wish to make something right that was wrong. Jack was simply beautiful - and Douglas in the bedroom scenes - what can you say? :)

Tommy! Now he could be something! The bad boy who changes with responsibilities but keeps that rough sexy edge. I'm looking forward to seeing Jake with the tattoos - very hot. Of all Jake's recent and forthcoming roles, I think Howard is the only one who doesn't make my heart flutter - but I think he'll make me laugh and I will love him nevertheless. Dastan? Now that's hot!

I'm intrigued by Dastan, how he's a street kid and how he will adjust to being royalty, and Tommy, intrigued by his tatoos and how he may be re-evaluating his life. I loved Robert - I was a little annoyed with his wife's character in the film, because she ultimately didn't support him enough I thought, and kept bringing him back to the more mundane things in life when he was trying to work on the most important case of his life. She may have been right, but I was still a little annoyed. :)

^^^ Forgot to say that I think Chloe did well with the material she was given, but I would have liked to have seen much more interaction between Robert and his wife in Zodiac.

Who makes my heart flutter more of the above is hard to call. Probably Douglas for those bedroom scenes alone or Jack in the opening scene of BBM. But I do love all of them for different reasons.
Tommy from what we've seen so far has a bad boy appeal which is very sexy.

Wow! The new pictures - whoooowheee!!! The moment I looked at the full length photo I knew there would be a (non) sandals and socks comment (ha ha)!! But it also brought back such a great memory of Jake on the set of Nailed and how the second the director called a break the wardrobe people were right over to Jake taking off his dress shoes (another role he wore a suit and dress shoes A LOT) and he was stuffing his feet into Nike sneakers! I'm so glad I had lunch with Jake while he was in sneakers and NOT socks and sandals (I would have of course stayed anyway - but how could I have kept from snickering every time I looked down)?! Oh that partially unbuttoned and untucked dress shirt and loosened tie is bringing it all back too. Even if for a short break on set (where he would stand off to the side but not long enough of a break to get to leave the area) Jake would loosen his tie! He obviously prefers comfort over just about anything while filming.
The fan's story didn't make me smile too much, though. I know filming can be long and tiring and if your hungry on top of it crankiness probably comes into play too. But the end result was good for the fan I guess. And the possibility of Atticus on set makes me very happy. If it is indeed Atticus. The only other idea here would be if Jake's character has a dog that there are scenes with and it happens to be a German Shepard?
And this poll...Yikes! I thought it was going to be so easy as soon as I saw Pilot at the top of the photos...I find Pilot incredibly sexy. But then the more I thought about the others the harder it was to choose! I wasn't even going to bother with Jack Twist because he is #1 for me but that's a given so figured I'd just eliminate him from the poll and pick my second favorite. I then saw that we can pick more than one (Thank God)!! How can a poll asking which movie character that Jake played is the hottest cause this much stress?!

Hey BBMISwear! What a comment - loe, love you thinking back to that wonderful Nailed day. It makes me smile to think how Jake likes his comfort. It must be a real chore (possibly not!) for wardrobe to keep him so tidy because he seems to untuck and untie and kick his shoes off whenever he can. He just looks so hot doing it!

I loved the link to that man's encounter with Jake in Pittsburgh. I actually sympathize with Jake's reluctance to be late for his lunch. I doubt that he *ever* gets to eat as much as he would really like, and his blood sugar probably gets low after a long, grueling scene. It would be ever so much better for him if photo ops with fans happened after lunch rather than before. I am one of those people who gets cranky and anxious when we're hungry (which is often).
Well aside from Jack Twist (I can't quit him or Ennis) I would like to talk to Homer Hickam (I know he's young but I thought he was cute and I loved the whole message of the movie, never giving up on your dream no matter what)

Hi Paul! It sounds like Jake was a bit cranky but I'm glad to hear he apologised and did good. I'm a low blood sugar need-to-eat person too and I know what it can be like on a film set. But fans who are dedicated enough to spend a few hours just to get a glimpse, not wanting that much, I like to think Jake can find a few minutes for them too. And he did and it sounds like he's been spending quite a bit of fan time on this movie! :) I like the idea of post-lunch fan time :D
Hi Sweetpea! I like Homer too - that's a special role and really set a standard for Jake :D But too young for me to think hot. But welll on the way to getting warm... I'm looking forward to getting to know Dastan and I wouldn't say no to seeing Jake as Namath in the not too distant future.
