We don't have details yet about the interview itself, conducted by the New Yorker's film critic David Denby, but it also appears that other people had the chance to ask Jake some questions. One writer said: 'I asked Jake Gyllenhaal what he learned from playing Bubble Boy. He said to take chances like Depp.' After all our recent talk here about Jake's movies, it's good to hear Jake talk about, and be asked about, Bubble Boy and his early movies.
Other people, less familiar with Jake, came out of the theatre with a real liking for him, as an actor and as a genuinely nice person.
No doubt there is much more to come about this event so stay tuned!

Over coffee this morning I spent quite a bit of time ogling the IHJ pictures, trying to measure my reaction to The Beard... And I have to admit, he's looking great. There, I said it.
It's so good to finally have some fresh HQ pics that I can look past the face fuzz. And that hair, oh the hair...
If it is for a role, I wonder why we haven't heard any rumours buzzing. I'd rather think he's making the most of his 'free time' before the LAOD promotion starts. 'Cause I'm telling you, if he is still sporting The Beard during that, I'll be very disappointed. :-P

Good morning! Err, can I change my vote from "Shave" to "Don't shave"??? Just joking, but he looks really very sweet! And when I say "shave" I only say it because I want to see more of his face, not necessarily because I don't like the beard... And I definitely prefer this beard to the scruffy look he gets when not shaving for maybe one or two weeks... That look I really DON'T like...
I really hope his beard IS for a role and he will start working soon, cause I am afraid otherwise we will again have an unbearably long break between Jake movies...

Hi All, What a great way to fill in a wet,rainy filled sunday gazing at Mr G in all his bearded glory.
Now im not sure about the "Bear" as it hides the most amazing smile but im liking the hair longer & he seems happy so looks like bear could be here for a while (i wonder if its soft)

I have read that David Denby raved about the movie, said that this will make Jake an even bigger star and both he and Ed Zwick think Jake and Anne have amazing chemistry!!!

Finally, some pictures of Jake where I find him unattractive. I didn't think that would be possible. I don't think he looks mature or masculine in a good way. Maybe I'll feel differently if I see video and sound attached to these pics.

I much prefer Jake clean-shaven because a beard of any length covers half his face and those lips are pretty much gone.
But he is still Jake and i think when we see (and i'm sure we will) any video of it things will be o.k.
If we only liked looks then it would be different but we like the personality and the humor and talent.

Well, that's it - looks are only one part of an actor, and not the most important part, if he wasn't Jake, he wouldn't have the same appeal - so I like how he looks whether he has a beard or not. :)
I hope we find out what Jake said during this interview. I think he trimmed the face rug. I have to suspect this might be for a role. We've never seen him look like this normally. The last time he had a beard this thick was when he was doing Brothers. I wish this interviewer had asked about the face rug but I suspect he didn't since he had his own facial fuzz.
But if he still has this beard when the press junket for LAOD is in full force and he does talk shows I bet he'll be asked. (if he does Ellen I can guarantee she'll ask him)
He looks good, I just miss seeing that gorgeous face, the birthmark above his lip. (I have mapped out all the freckles and marks that I've seen on his face. He has the other one on his upper left cheek and 3 more towards his right ear. I remember finding them for the first time when he was Jack Twist and stamped them into memory. He has or had a mark on his back, that one I noticed when he rolled over onto Ennis/Heath during the SNIT scene)
I bet that during LAOD I'll be noticing even more freckles, birthmarks and other stuff that is unique to his gorgeous body

olympia I'm with you. We who are NOT in favor of the beard should all get together and have an intervention for Jake. I have the razor and shaving cream (I got the one for sensitive skin just to be sure there is protection for that beautiful skin)

Jake seems to have had his beard trimmed nicely and his hair cut a little. My first reaction to the New Yorker pictures was that his face reminded me of Ryan Gosling's face in "Lars and the Real Girl." If Jake's hair and beard were lighter, he could play Gosling's brother in a film. (In Gosling's IMDB.com pictures, he seems to be bearded, too.)
But, I have no information about Jake's next role. Not even a rumor. I would love to hear more information if there's anythi8ng reliable out there. ;-)
Do you suppose Jake's character in "Nailed" grows a beard in the last scene, and that Jake has to film that scene so the movie can be released?

TY for all this wonderful Jakeness:) I saw the trailer last night(Facebook movie) and it was well received by the audience... one part of it got huge laughs. Jake is wonderful and in rare form. His gorgeous blue eyes show up big time unlike Rendition etc.
This is going to be very successful movie as is Fincher's lastest movie, GREAT!
