Michelle Monaghan talks about Source Code co-star Jake Gyllenhaal, Jake and Anne Hathaway in London, more Love and Other Drugs stills

While we've been very much focused on Jake Gyllenhaal's current and absolutely gorgeous co-star Anne Hathaway - and having seen her yesterday I can vouch for how astonishingly lovely she is in person - there is word today from Jake's future love interest: Michelle Monaghan of Source Code. During press for Michelle's forthcoming movie Machine Gun Preacher, she had a few words about Jake: 'I learned a lot about health and fitness from him... Every day we were filming in Montreal, we ate at a raw-food restaurant. He also put me on to almond butter.' Please note how I'm not mentioning that just the thought of almond butter makes my face deform into a thousand horrible creases. This is also confirmation that Jake doesn't always expect ovens in the restaurants he frequents.


While we're talking about co-stars, it's Anne Hathaway's birthday today and I think that calls for a big congratulations! I apologise for the weather in the UK, and for all the residual fireworks going off. And for London traffic. And for how dangerous the new 'Boris Bikes' are (to pedestrians).


Jake and Anne were both seen making their way into a back entrance to the Leicester Square Odeon last night. As there was the small and lowkey matter of a Harry Potter movie premiere going on at the same time and in the same cinema, it's difficult not to disassociate the two events. However, there may have been more to Jake and Anne's visit than meets the eye. It seems that there was also a screening of Love and Other Drugs going on next door (probably in the Odeon's other theatre) and Jake and Anne both attended the Q&A after the film. Two birds with one stone and all that - or should that be owls?

    So we don't know whether Jake and Anne attended the Harry Potter premiere at all, maybe they were at the LAOD screening.

    Love that 'four things' question. They do like and respect each other.:)

    Hi Tui! I wonder if they stayed for some of HP before leaving for the Q&A. But it does show how things aren't always as they seem! I love that interview too :)

    so we don't know for sure if he saw HP. I'd like to think he might have. He looks so tired on his way back to the hotel.

    I wonder if he's left London yet? Maggie's birthday is this coming Tues.

    WDW - thank you for the news.
    It's interesting what Michelle Monaghan said about Jake. I never heard about almond butter. Must be healthy. I wonder how it tastes.
    What a surprise with HP premiere.
    So if LAOD screening was at the same time, they probably didn't watch HP. Such a strange time they chose. When main focus in UK was on HP.
    The pictures of Jake in the car, behind the raindrops and Anne in the hat are just adorable.
    Fandango interview - very nice, their behaviour is sweet and so warm toward each other.

    Hi there 22:19! It's an interesting coincidence but I also think we must remember that LAOD's not out until 29 December (slightly adjusted date) here in the UK and so all the publicity from this week in London won't be released until mid December. I love those pictures!

    Hi TD! No, I've mentioned it in the comments here yesterday. I was at a press screening yesterday and at the press conference (front row). But I can't write about it til next month. I just popped into Leicester Square in the morning as I got to town so early :) Jake was gorgeous!

    I wasn't at the Leicester Square screening, TD - I was at an earlier one that day. Jake wasn't at mine but he was at the press conference :) An incredible experience and I'm extremely grateful!

    Nonstop London action! Pity that Jake seems to attract the infamous rain every time he's in town :)

    I agree with all the 5/6 good things they say about each other in that interview. What a lovely couple! Can I ask for another rom-com from the pair already?

    Sorry I've been a bit out of it, vv busy and also attempting my usual avoidance of the pre publicity stuff - I really do find I just enjoy films more if I know hardly anything about them! But afterwards I have a huge feast of gorgeousness to gorge on!

    If Damn Yankee ever gets going how about Anne for Lola.
    Or in any musical she and Jake may do together. That's what Ed Z. thought would be great for their next pairing.
    Had also wanted something like "The Thin Man" the older movie series about a detective husband and wife but see Johnny Depp is planning on doing it.

    I'm a day late in commenting on this but I just have to let it out: I LOVE THESE TWO TOGETHER! They are such a perfect on screen couple and interview couple, amazing. I totally agree with the other comments that they should do more movies together. It's Destiny. :)
