I realise that this post will not be read by any Britishers because they're all in the cinemas as I speak adding pounds to the Love and Other Drugs box office. My own attendance today will have done little good because I was accidentally sold a ticket to Little Fockers. At least, they did play the right film this time, unlike my cinema visit yesterday when I was treated to an unexpected snippet of MegaMind.
No doubt, those people who have seen the film today will now be able to add comment on the inclusion of The Kitchen Sex Scene among MovieFone's top 10 sexy scenes today. While I might quibble with the labelling of the location as a 'kitchen', I do not argue with the inclusion of this scene in what is a slightly mancentric list. It has also got me thinking - rarely a good thing - about some of the other hot and sexy moments that have sexily landmarked Jake Gyllenhaal's sexy movie career over the last sexy ten years or so.
As the Kitchen Sex Scene shows, sexy does not necessarily equate with lack of clothing, as is proven by Exhibit A.
Sometimes it does...
Source Code delayed in the UK
I'm getting rather used to reporting delays in the release of Jake's films, especially in the UK, and I'm sorry to say I have to do it again. Originally scheduled for release in Britain on 11 March, Source Code has now been postponed to 22 April. This was inevitable following the announcement of the film's premiere at the SXSW Festival on that same date of 11 March but I'm disappointed that it's been pushed back as far as 22 April. The US date of 1 April remains unchanged at this time. Let's hope that this time Britain gets a premiere...
Love and Other Drugs catchup
The interviews continue to flow thick and fast, plus there are still videos that I have to catch up with. So here are a few. We must enjoy this doubleact while we can. If the video below doesn't work for you, you can see it here.
Thanks to IHJ for the caps! Sexiness courtesy of Jake Gyllenhaal.
I've done a review of the new Peter Weir move The Way Back at MovieBrit.

I think being THAT sexy should be illegal everywhere! :)
so today is the day for laod! enjoy it as much as you can
I'm still in my countdown to see it! :)
Hi Linda! I agree, Jake should not be allowed out without a sign on him warning innocent bystanders of dangerous sexy levels :D I hope you get to see it very soon!
Sexy landmarks in Jake's sexy career and then you post a pic of Jake and Dustin Hoffman after that sizzling hot Rendition scene? You have a wicked sense of humor, WDW. *lol*
Watching all these glorious LAOD interviews I'm still stuck with the thought: "You guys are soooo meant to be." I can't help it, really can't. *innocent smile* But you're right, we should enjoy the doubleact as long as it lasts. :)
Ehr... okay. My word is 'fockingl'. How appropriate. How did your cinema ticket end up here?! *lol*
Yeay! I thought that was a lovely hot sexy Dustin-Jake pic, just for you, Lady Ekster! And some hot Jake-Ang action too...
I do what you mean. Ew, that's unfortunate... Nomally I keep my tickets from the day a Jake film opens, somehow with 'Little Fockers' written on it, it's not quite as meaningful...
I've done a review of the new Peter Weir movie The Way Back at MovieBrit
Thank you for the post WDW.
Don't you like "Little Fockers"? I am a fun of the first two movies. And I like Ben Stiller very much. I was so sorry for him in those movies :).
I can't recognize the movie and the actress on the blue picture with Jake.
So at last UK have LAOD in the theatres. Congratulations! I still have to wait till the middle of February.
Those interviews from Australia with a couple (hairy guy + blonde) are hilarious!
Hi Mermon! No, I don't! Not even a little bit... The blue picture is from Moonlight Mile and the girl is Ellen Pompeo. This is a wonderful, wonderful movie. Last year BBMISwear and I revisited the places around Boston where it was filmed (and went over to Martha's Vineyard) and we had an incredible time. I love this film so much! Do watch it if you can :D
Oh! I know that movie very well and I like it.
I wrote sometime here that Jake's hairdo reminds me of The Beatles' hair. I just couldn't tell from a picture what movie is that. Thank you for help.
You're so right about Jake's hair in Moonlight Mile, Mermon - Beatley and awful. Jake didn't like it either. It definitely suited Ringo better :D
Hey WDW! I have an absolute ton to catch up on. I've seen about two LAOD interviews (shame on me) but i was there today! Opening night! Something I noticed different about this film compared to Jakes last few, my friends invited me to go, no the other way round :) (although i dont usually invite them, i make them go ;) ) Anyway, i'm posting so late because i had to see a later showing than I planned! We arrived in good time, got out tickets went in and it was completely packed! There were four seats right at the front. I was really annoyed, i should have booked, but for some reason i thought it wouldnt be that popular. I was so wrong! So i complained to the stewards and they exchanged our tickets for the later showing :D we got to that one half an hour earlier, got good seats and it was sold out again! All 225 seats :) Such a contrast: Brothers = 5 seats including me and two friends. PoP = 40 seats at a push. So, to what i thought of the film, highly enjoyable :) Romcoms arn't my thing really but i thought it was done well, it just made me smile so much to see Jake having fun at the beginning and all the people around me enjoying it. My friends are all officially in Jakelove. I know i havnt given the best review, i dont want to spoil anything for anyone else :) i'm really going to try and catch up on everything soon! I bet i'll miss some gems if I don't! Anyway, till next time WDW :D
Silver
That's fantastic Silver!! It's great t hear how busy it was! My screening today was half full but it was early afternoon. I'm really really thrilled to read your comment - thank you! And I'm delighted your friends enjoyed it. I'm hoping Mr WDW will take me for my birthday on Friday but that may require force... stay tuned :D Good to see you!
I happen to know a Brit who went to see it today. I guess I'll be hearing from her tomorrow.
I'm sorry to hear Source Code is going to be delayed. I guess we'll hear the reports about when makes it's first appearance.
sweetpea
Awww, had a dream about Love and Other Drugs last night. Sorry I didn't post this earlier but just wanted to get to bed to dream.
OK, I went to fetch my PoP co-pilot Karen and saw her beautiful baby boy (who looks a lot like dad)which made us late for the showing because of all the cooing I was making. After all, this is the first Wet Dark and Wild baby we nicknamed LJ.
So, with great anticipation and excitement we bombed up the road but arrived 10 minutes late for the 3.40pm showing. The queues to buy tickets were huge and I guess because a theatre staff saw us dancing and willing the queue to diminish, he said we could buy our tickets from the Ben and Gerry's counter. So excited were we that we didn't even want to get snacks, just get the hell inside. Then, we had to queue up to hand our tickets to the staff to let us in (why do we have to queue for EVERYTHING in this country!!). They were searching bags and I started to do my little impatient dance again as I thought OH no! we're late AGAIN for another Jake film (remember PoP Karen LMAO). So, yeah, we queue jumped (and please forgive me all those people I brushed passed but I was not going to miss another second of this film) and thrust our tickets at the guy who looked flustered and we escalated up to screen 12. My heart sank at that point because I though they've put us in a small screen room so there won't be many people. How wrong were we. The theatre was FULL! And the commercials were on Yippeeee! We had to scrabble around for two good seats together. So just as we sat down, the film started.
So like Silver, I won't give my impressions here but I will on MovieBrit (and it will be long with lots of questions for you and others). But I can't wait for the video now. Very sexy, crossing your legs, stuff going on. Jake looks amazingly boyish on the big screen in what was a very grown up role. Suffice it to say that I will be taking/dragging/coercing a few friends along to share the Jake Love.
Karen, thank you for such good company and for being a part of the Jake adventure we find ourselves on. We were discussing this in the car about the roles we're looking forward to seeing him in. So roll on Source Code. I don't mind the wait because there won't be anything else after it so, yeah, I'll wait.
OMG! The unicorn thing! I was pretty sure I had read something about Jake's unicorn-like personality. But I couldn't remember where -and although I looked and looked among your posts, I couldn't find it. And was too embarrassed to ask -obviously. Seemed so crazy... So in the end, I thought maybe it was some weird dream I had...
This is good news. I am not that demented. Some things are actually real. Everything's possible in the realm of Jake. :-)
What a relief. Thank you, WDW. Loved all the interviews. xo
Hey, before I comment on MovieBrit I have been looking for the trailers and all the extra scenes for LAOD but I can't find them. could you point me in the right direction please young lady. Ta x
Aww thanks for taking me to see LAOD Sheba, we are now Jake friends for life and must see every film he does together (and go to every premiere too)!
Glad we didn't miss the start of the film again like PoP, but we had a good excuse then as we had just seen Jake in the flesh and were on another planet!
Anyway, loved LAOD. Found it hard to take it all in though due to looking at Jake and his beautiful eyes and body ;D I need to see it again a few times, roll on the DVD!
Going to MovieBrit to see what others have said :)
Morning everyone!
I hope your friend enjoyed it, Sweetpea :)
Fantastic to hear that great account from you, Sheba and Karen! The Jaking Twins - I love how you have this Jake tie between you. And I'm thrilled that it was so full! I should try and go to an evening showing so I can see. I went at 1pm and it was half full, not bad at that time of day. And what a pilaver getting into a cinema! Glad you didn't miss the start. I walked in on the start yesterday due to being sent to the screen for Little Fockers first (growl).
I also have a lovely image in my head of you cooing over LJ, Sheba x
The behind the scene video is in this post. Thanks for going to MovieBrit - comments have been left on this review post. Looking forward to hearing what you both think, as well as anyone else!
Hi Alejandra :D You've most definitely intrigued me - what unicorn thing do you see? What am I missing?!
I actually had a dream about Love and Other Drugs the night before last - I dreamt that the roles were all muddled up and Jake was in a minor role. I complained to the cinema that they were showing the film wrong...
Have a good day everyone!
Love all the sexy photos!! You picked great ones but the ones here just make me think of the many others...is it possible to post 1000 pictures WDW?! Just kidding!
I love hearing about Jake fans meeting up to go to the film together and also when people say they need to see it again because it was so hard to concentrate on the film with all the...ummmmm....visuals! I remember seeing it way in advance of everyone and people here asking me questions and I couldn't even answer them. Now I think everyone is slowly seeing why it took me a couple of viewings to report anything coherent!
Enjoy Brits and those from other countries that still are looking forward to it. And, yes, bring on the DVD!!
:-)
You've most definitely intrigued me - what unicorn thing do you see? What am I missing?!
The... uhm... Sunrise interview! Fourth from the top in this post, when they talk about chemistry... You're pretending it's not there!?
Damn Gyllenspeak. Take it out of context, mess with its grammar and it's downright nonsense. :-P
I finally listened to all the interviews on the post. I am wondering, they mentioned that Jake had two other films coming out. someone made a boo boo, cause the only other movie I am aware of is Source Code. (unless Jake secretly made another movie and we don't know about it)
sweetpea
Sweetpea, they may have been talking about "Nailed," which may be in theaters or issued directly on DVD.
There are other possibilities such as untitled moon project, biopics of Joe Namath and Lance Armstrong, etc. Or, something that's not on our radar at all right now, but Jake would be aware of it. ;-)
Hello! Just back from a pre-birthday meal courtesy of Jamie Oliver - very nice.
Hi there BBMISwear :-) I love how Jake's movies stand up to multiple, multiple screenings and they are enriched by it. I'm so glad that more people are getting to see the film now. It was so weird for me seeing it way back towards the start of November and not being able to talk about it.
I missed that bit, Alejandra! I just listened to it and caught it. It's such a Jake phrase - very appealing and enigmatic at the same time.
Hi Sweetpea - as Paul says, I imagine they're referring to Nailed. SO fingers crossed!
Hey Paul! I think it was Nailed too - a DVD will do very nicely :D
Hi WDW and everybody...
Sexy is one word that could never part from Jake Gyllenhaal...XD
LAOD has finally got there, what a great news... So have you seen it for the third time WDW? How was it? Hahahaha...
I have mixed feeling reading all the review for LAOD here, first, of course, excited, then happy for LAOD seems loved by all Gyllenhaalics here, then laughing for the funny bits, and then envy, not a good thing at all, for I haven't got my turn to watch it yet...hehe.. Anyway, I am a week away from LAOD!!! Yaayy...
Thanks for the posts WDW!! Great vids and pics!
Hi Serene! I know those feelings very well - but just a week to go. I hope it flies :D
