This last weekend Jake Gyllenhaal had a break from his police training and filming schedules to pop over to that most beautiful of places Hawaii. The occasion was the marriage of his father Stephen to film maker Kathleen Mann. Maggie was there too, looking stunning in a summer dress that conjures up all sorts of images of flowers, sunshine and holidays. Jake, however, was put in brown. There's a full account here with pictures. Here are a few. There are many others here, do take a look.
I would like to implore all friends and relatives who are getting married to do so in Hawaii and fly me over. I'll take the Maldives at a push.
Peter Sarsgaard was unable to be there because his publicity tour for The Green Lantern continues - and seems to have gone on forever. At the end of last week he was in Madrid.
Blockbuster's early release of Source Code in the UK
As previously mentioned, Source Code is in the shops in the US tomorrow but, while we have to wait over here, Blockbuster will be getting it into its shops early on 29 July. There are details about that and a competition to win a copy - over at Blockbuster and at ManMadeMovies.
And finally...
I'm off for a few days holiday with bucket and spade and a daft hat. I am not, unfortunately, Hawaii bound. The southern coast is the goal. Because I'm going to be camping (shudders), I may have internet, not to mention electricity, issues at times, but I will do my best! Please all do a sun dance for me...

Jake in linen...mmmm.... Beach wedding is messy, but apparently not for the Gyllenhaals. It's in Hawaii because of the bride's family, I suppose.
Good luck with your camping holiday!! You have courage!!
Hi Kate,
I like the pics (although I don't like brown shirts).
Have some nice days off. I'll do the sundance for you - and me -. At the moment it's like autumn here.
Would nice to be in Hawaii. At least you don't have to worry about the weather there :-)
Christina
Hi WDW,
Have a nice holiday!
Peter in Madrd? Oooh, I missed that. I would not have minded seeing him.
Have a fab holiday Kate. I hope you will be blessed with sunshine:)
Hi there Winterbird! Oh to be in Hawaii right now... Thank you! I may need some courage of the Dutch variety :)
Thanks Christina! Fortunately the weather has improved here a bit. I'm not keen on those brown shirts at all!
Good to see you Eureka! Peter us wonderful. I see he is in Germany tonight. Thank you!
I've been watching the Rango blu ray this evening. What a beautiful, clever, funny film :)
Have a wonderful holiday hope you have great weather. Yes the shirts are......brown [gulp]. I liked the neck flowers what are they called again. Second chances of happiness are a rare find so best wishes to Stephen and Kathleen. Sorry to be a thicko here but does that mean that in the UK we can buy Source Code only at Blockbusters on the 29th?
Hi Carol! Posting at the same time. Thank you! And me too!!
First of all, have a nice camping time, Kate. Sounds great!
So Stephen starts a new family with a woman from movie business. It's nice, his kids were there for him.
I like all those pictures and tradition of the same men's outfit, being barefoot and foliage around the neck. It's unusual for me. Jake's dad looks very happy. All the best for him. I like Maggie's dress.
Sorry Eureka, you missed Peter in Madrid.
Sheba! I'm doing a great job of posting at the same time as everyone else! The Source Code dvd will only be available to rent from the Blockbuster shops then, not buy. I think the flowers are leis. Beautiful. Unlike the brown shirts!
It's happened again!! Hi Mermon! I think that's definitely a beach wedding look. All the best to Stephen of course and Maggie looks gorgeous!
New picture of Jake and Bear Grylls showed up. Cute one.

Enjoy Kate! And thanks for update and pics of Jake and family in Hawaii. Have been searching the net for info on Jake and Hawaii since someone had mentioned in these blogs about his dad and a wedding a couple days ago. Everyone looks so happy! Jake and his beige pants/trousers....I'm sure he didn't have to reach far into the closet to pack..lol...He probably could supply the entire wedding party!
Wow, STEPHEN GOT MARRIED!? Wow, congrats to them :)
I thought maybe something was going on when Jake 'pimped' his mom out on that late show (Kimmell or Letterman or whatever it was). I thought 'is Jake's dad seeing someone or something?'/ I know, I need to stop.
Jake looks great at the wedding: I love his hair, his hair grows fast and I don't mind the brown because Jake looks great in anything! It's unfortunate that Peter wasn't able to make it for the next GyllenWedding and Maggie looked stunning.
All the best luck to stephen and the new addition to their family.
congrats to Stephen and Kathleen (I wasn't sure who she was. I had never heard of her)
I looked her up on IMDB, she was born in Hawaii, went to the same school President Obama went to and is an independent film maker (I love that!)
I think Jake looks great in brown.

Morning all! About to set off :)
Thanks for the pic, Mermon!
Hi there Lilly! That's for sure - noone is more prepared with beige trousers than Jake!
Hey Margot! Jake does indeed make this look good! It is a shame Peter couldn't make it. I hope they all had a wonderful time though. What a setting for a weeding :)
Thanks for the info, Sweetpea :)
Have a great day everyone. I'm about to hit the road and follow the crowda to the seaside :) It'll be good to get out of Oxford for a while - it's heaving with holidaymakers...
Was she ever married previously or have any children?
There wasn't a lot written about her so I don't know if she's ever been married before or has kids

Hello everyone! Having a wonderful time by the sea. Beautiful countryside too. Lyme Regis is always stunning. Think French Lieutenant's Woman. And it's so hot and sunny! Hope you're all having a good day :)
Hope you're enjoying your vacation, WDW. Yesterday I saw "Captain America." I searched in vain for a Jake link, but then I read a review by Roger Ebert, who pointed out that the director also directed "October Sky." So, there's your Jake link.
I'm feleing down about the debt ceiling crisis in the U.S., and what it means for our governnment's ability to get anything done. :-(
If the director of October Sky also directed Captain America, then I guess I'll have to see it. I've been on the fence about yet another superhero movie, but I keep hearing great things about this one. Speaking of Jake links, I saw Horrible Bosses the other day. Jennifer Aniston is in it - she's terrific - and so is Jamie Foxx as their "murder consultant." It's a wild comedy, not for those who might be averse to a lot of profanity, but not raunchy like Hangover. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs an escape into absurdity and a lot of laughs.
I'm a computer illiterate when it comes to these kinda things, but if the link of Jake and Maggie in the ocean doesn't appear, you might have to cut and paste into the toolbar...Jake in a swimsuit and looking HOT...lol...enjoy!
