Jake Gyllenhaal loves his Hoyle Jacksons and Prince of Persia DVD/Blu-Ray extras announced for September

If any of us have any money left after buying Prince of Persia and Jake Gyllenhaal lego, keyrings, 4" figurines, 6" figurines, jigsaws, graphic novels, popup books, posters, mugs, notepads, cinema tickets, daggers of times (actual size and miniature), halloween outfits and popcorn cartons, we're now on red alert for the DVD release. We knew it was coming in September but the release has now been confirmed for 13 September in the UK and 14 September in the US. So in a little over a month we can immerse ourself in wall to wall Dastan viewings, which, I predict, at least in my case, will comprise a considerable amount of rewinding and pausing. Who needs a dagger of time when you have a remote control?

The bad news is that there isn't to be a Jake Gyllenhaal commentary, which is a trick missed because Jake is a master of them (do check out the commentaries for Bubble Boy, Moonlight Mile, Donnie Darko and Zodiac, if you haven't already). But there are extras which increase the more types of disc you buy. So, in other words, if you want all the extras you have to buy the Blu-Ray/DVD/digital bundle. Here are the details courtesy of ComingSoon:

'Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is available in a 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy), 1-Disc Blu-ray, and 1-Disc DVD and Movie Download.

DVD Bonus Feature: An Unseen World: Making Prince of Persia – A look behind the scenes on the set of the film.

1-Disc Blu-ray Bonus Feature: All of above DVD bonus plus Deleted Scene – The Banquet: Garsiv Presents Heads.

3-Disc Combo Pack Bonus Features: All of the above DVD and Blu-ray bonus features plus · CineExplore: The Sands of Time – Take control of the dagger and use it to unlock secrets behind your favorite scenes! Turn back time and uncover over 40 spellbinding segments – including “Walking Up Walls,” “Filming in Morocco”, and “Ostrich Jockey Tryouts” – with this exclusive interactive feature. Blu-ray puts you in control!' Here's hoping that these 40 spellbinding segments include plenty of spellbinding Jake. It also means I have to invest in a blu-ray player which is not so good...

Best dressed!

Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal have made the just-released list of Vanity Fair's best dressed for 2010 - not just as individuals but as a pair of stylish siblings. The two reveal to the magazine: 'Maggie's favorite item of clothing is a patterned silk Dries Van Noten blazer. Jake's favorite is his Hoyle Jackson jeans.' Full list: 'OCCUPATION: Actor. RESIDENCE: Los Angeles. FAVORITE ITEM OF CLOTHING: Hoyle Jackson jeans. FAVORITE FASHION PURCHASE OF 2010: Salvatore Ferragamo made-to-measure three-piece suit. FAVORITE SHOES: Billy Reid Delta work boots. FAVORITE TAILOR: Mario’s of Beverly Hills. FAVORITE WATCH: 1954 Rolex Submariner. STYLE ICON: Clint Eastwood. FAVORITE CAUSE: New Eyes for the Needy.' This post includes pictures which provide the perfect demonstration for how to wear Hoyle Jackson Jeans. The hat is an optional extra but bonus points for the scarf. Clint Eastwood, eh? Interesting.

I think this picture above is my favourite from that Oscars Red Carpet 2010.
