Duncan Jones, our much respected and cool Source Code director, has been tweeting again about the film as its third week of principle photography begins. This follows his weekend roadtrip to an extremely wet Boston. Back in Montreal, Duncan tells us that he will begin editing in LA at the end of April/start of May and, when asked what it's like to work with Jake Gyllenhaal: 'Jake is fantastic. Really get on well with him. Very good sense of humour and a snappy dresser.'

While hoping that this does not mean that Jake will be wearing too many clothes in Source Code (snappy or not), this is good to hear. It also sounds like Jake is doing his usual of entertaining the crew. It's great to hear that Jake and Duncan have hit it off - I'm looking forward to hearing Jake talk about the experience of working with such an exciting, young director. But back to the snappy dresser thing...

Jake's style at the Oscars was a hit with the critics - his beautifully cut Burberry suit, complete with square white handkerchief, reminded stylists of the glamour of old Hollywood. George Clooney's hair was a little longer than normal - which slightly shook the foundations of the Kodak Theatre - but all was made well again by Jake and his suit. USA Today reports: Jake 'kept it simple in Burberry. "It's important to feel comfortable. I like to wear comfortable clothes," he says. "I keep thinking to myself, how much I love her as my sister. I'm so proud of her work," he told CNN about his sister and supporting-actress nominee Maggie. The actor, says [someone called] Cohn, looked "classic. I like shawl collars. It's a basic tux with a white pocket square. It's old-time Hollywood."'

Back to Source Code... much of this film is being shot on a closed set but every so often it peeps out. On 7,8,9 April, Source Code will be filming in Chicago and they need extras and doubles. So, if you look like Jake Gyllenhaal or Michelle Monaghan, or, if that fails, you look like a railway commuter, take a look here. They need you!

Prince of Persia opens in the US on Memorial Weekend (28 May). On 30 May the 15th Indy 500 takes place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rumours have suggested that Jake Gyllenhaal may be involved (bringing together two of my favourite things - Jake and cars). Whether this is the result of the rumour or its source isn't clear but it now looks like the organisers may be trying to get Jake involved. 'There has been some contact between Gyllenhaal's camp and the IMS, but nothing has been finalized, said Eric Powell, IMS public relations manager.'

'"We certainly welcome celebrities out for our event. How Mr. Gyllenhaal would fit in remains to be seen," he said. But there's one more big role left to consider: grand marshal of the IPL 500 Festival Parade. No word about who will fill that role has been announced, either, but folks at the 500 Festival seem eager to talk to Gyllenhaal's people. "We have a long list of celebrities we would like to be a part of our . . . parade. Jake Gyllenhaal is definitely one of those celebrities," said Brandi Davis-Handi, spokeswoman for the 500 Festival. "While we have not been in contact with him directly, we would love to open the dialogue if he is indeed interested in coming to Indianapolis in May."'

However, if Jake would prefer something more foody as a way to publicise Prince of Persia, I have an alternative suggestion for Jake and Jerry for that weekend - Gloucestershire's annual Rolling Cheese event. This celebration, which, for hundreds of years, has seen people hurl themselves down a steep hill after a 7lb cheese, was due to take place on 31 May but has just been cancelled because, apparently, the numbers of broken backs, necks, concussions have become unacceptable. Jake's appearance at the event would not only help publicise the opening of Prince of Persia, it would also get the event up and running (or tumbling) again and Jake would get some cheese. Win-win.
