Michelle's statement - Plus pictures of Maggie and duties as a Brothers marine

Yesterday, Michelle Williams made a heartbreaking statement about the loss of Heath, to herself and to their beautiful daughter, Matilda: 'Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up in the best memories of him.'

Pictures of Maggie

Thanks very much to Beckela for letting me know about these new images of Maggie Gyllenhaal at Photolicious. I find them stunning. Incidentally, Paris, Je T'Aime, a film of vignettes, one of which stars Maggie, is released on DVD in the UK on Monday. Another of the short stories features Natalie Portman.

Being a Marine - On the set of Brothers

Another extra from Brothers has posted an account of what it's like on set, this time as a marine fighting alongside Tobey Maguire as opposed to playing a Taliban and waving a weapon in his face. It's a fascinating glimpse into the boredom, fleeting excitement and even creepiness (being kept in an extras holding pen in an old prison where 30 prisoners had been murdered) that goes into being an extra. Talking of marines...

Includes pictures from IHJ and Photolicious.

Good evening, WDW

Film4 is showing "A Knight's Tale" right now.... i am still debating if I should watch it. but maybe a happier, light-hearted Heath on screen is what I need.

Michelle's statement.... just heartbreaking. i am sure they will keep the best memories of Heath for little Matilda.

Good evening, Winterbird, I'm watching it as I write. Hard to believe I saw it just a couple of weeks ago - feels a long time ago :( It's making me feel good though.

First of all, I enjoyed the report of the extra on Brothers set, if Toby looks skinny and small I guess we can drop the naked wrestling scene.

Thanks for new pictures of Heath and gorgeous Maggie. The G siblings sure do resemble one another.

My movie today was Ang Lee'S EAT DRINK MAN WOMAN. Id seen WEDDING BANQUET part of Ang's "father trilogy", PUSHING HANDS which is not available on Netflix and received poor reviews, was the first of the trilogy.

Loved the film, Ive an especial interest in Ang right now, y'all know why.

And fell into tears at a funeral scene. Surprised me. Imagining how family and friends of Heath will feel when saying final goodbye. None will ever be the same. Nor will we.

Hi Pia - I'm watching Knight's Tale and it's a rollercoaster of emotion. I'm crying and smiling at the same time and Mr WDW is looking at me like I need my hand to be held. Very hard.

There are so many Ang films I've not seen - I must work through them.

Doesn't Maggie look like Jake in those pictures! I love to hear every word I can from the brothers set, it was the same with Rendition and Zodiac.

Back to Knight's Tale and beautiful, young, healthy Heath.

I feel so sad for Michelle! Well, the whole family. And Jake, of course. Such a tragedy.

Love the pics of Maggie -- she is truly unique and always interesting. And, yes, she does resemble Jake. Guess that should be the other way around since Maggie came first.

I plan to watch BBM tonight for the first time in ages. I have no idea how I will react, but I'm hoping it will be cathartic.

Hugs to all!

Hi Beckela, it is such a tragedy. Good luck with watching BBM. It's strange but I watched BBM a few nights ago and I wasn't half as affected watching that as I was watching A Knight's Tale this evening. None of it makes sense.

Have a good night *)

lovely photos of Heath, WDW. I think, like winterbird, I will watch Knight's Tale. it is very lighthearted. I think that is what I need.

I feel for Michelle, it will take alot of time to find a place where she can be at peace with all of this and raise her daughter to know her father

lovely photos of maggie as well.

Morning everyone :)

Hi Trekfan - I'm so glad I watched Knight's Tale last night.

Hope everyone's OK in the bad weather.

Brrr and maybe snow showers today and tomorrow in Los Alamos. Looks like Jake will be on the set tomorrow, anyway.

Apparently Jake was not among those who attended LA tribute to Heath yesterday afternoon, but will be with the family and Michelle and Matilda in Perth.

I am almost speechless this morning, feeling Heath's death affecting my own psyche, and thinking - what IS this? How is this all related to the almost mythic story of BBMt, and all of the old myths of humankind and Hollywood. Hey gimme a break!

o my goodness.

Hi, asking for info here, if you are British. Is "the telegraph" paper right wing and owned by the same media conglomerate as paparazzi media Splash News? They seem to go hand in hand.

hey wdw in reply to your morning post, I think everybody's not ok.

I'm watching Ned Kelly now. There's a moment where Naomi Watt's character says to Heath's character:"Don't make me greave for you." And he says:"I'm not dead yet." I couldn't watch any longer.Pressed PAUSE on the remote and went to make a cup of tea.

I meant "grieve"

I was all medicated and had my ginger tea, so I opted for "light-hearted" last night, too. I decided to watch Billy Elliot...so why is it that by the end, I was crying and thinking of Heath and whether he'd seen it, and what Jamie Bell might have thought about Heath, etc...only a couple of places I can acknowledge my sadness...I am trying very hard to be "sensible" but the gloom just won't lift. It's just...there.

Hi everyone - I've had an afternoon watching Zodiac while listening to the gales outside.

Hey Pia, I'm thinking of you. I heard about the memorial service. I hope Jake's coping ok on set if he's back there in Los Alamos.

Hi Anon - the Telegraph is known here in the UK as a Tory paper so it's definitely left of centre. I have no idea if it has links with Splash.

I've not seen Ned Kelly, Anon, there are so many things I wish I'd seen. I really like Naomi. I couldn't have seen that scene either.

Bobbyanna, my friend, take care. This is all going to take some time.
