Jake and Reese were photographed coming out of the clothing store APC on Mercer Street, SoHo, yesterday (2 March) before later on having dinner at a restaurant with the unusual name of Prune at 54 East 1st Street. Looking at the dinner menu, this is not a good place for veggies, but I could definitely be tempted by the steamed Prince Edward Island mussels and the pineapple upside down cake.
I know there'll be more than one person here who'll be delighted to see the return of The Cardigan. I'm also wondering how long Jake can keep those trainers/sneakers white.
Meanwhile, more Gyllenhaals have been travelling. The three Gyllenhaal ladies, Naomi, Maggie and Ramona, are in Paris, where they were spotted yesterday having a stroll, including Ramona, who is now well and truly on her feet.
Ramona's style isn't a surprise considering that Maggie has been enjoying Paris Fashion Week. Maggie and Naomi were both seen attending the event and Maggie was spotted scrambling for her seat at Marc Jacobs' Louis Vuitton show on the closing night of the event.

now this really puzzles me. I figured one of the reasons Jake went to NY (he hasn't been there since Oct when he was doing press for Rendition) was to see Maggie and his niece (and maybe his parents) and they're not even there!
I am hoping maybe Jake might at least visit with Michelle and Matilda while he is in NY. maybe he has some business he needs to do for his upcoming film.
yeah I know he could also just be in NY to do some shopping and hanging out and relaxing before he has to go to work at the end of this month.
But still it would be nice if he paid his respects to Michelle and his goddaughter

Since Reese has her official UN announcement/meeting tomorrow it makes sense that they are taking the chance for some days off. Love that Jake is with her for "support".:-))

Jake really does seem to be suffering from a bad case of bad timing lately. First he misses WDW in LA about a thousand times, then at the airport and now he's in NY while Maggie's in Paris! I have to say, I feel a bit uncomfortable looking at pics of Ramona (or any other celebrity kids) but she is SO cute. And I love her little shawl:) Hopefully Maggie will be back in NY before Jake leaves. I'd love to see new pics of them together.
Forgot to say, when I saw the headline of this post my first thought was that Maggie had been in a fight with Paris Hilton!!
Jake joined Reese because she has to hold a speech or something in New York. They were shopping and out wih friends for dinner. It seems they have a good time.

I agree Trekfan! Jake seemed to hang out with Heath, Michelle and Matilda a lot when the girl was born. Maybe they weren't as close anymore recently, but it'd still be nice if he visited Matilda. I'm sure she'd be happy to see her Godfather.
We have no idea what his plans are or who he is visiting with.We only know the facts: J&R are in NYC. They shopped. They went out for food. We have no idea if Michelle and Matilda are even in Brooklyn at this time. She might be working.
If Jake does visit them, I'm almost certain there will be absolutely no pictures of it. At least not if he or Michelle have anything to say.
it's really difficult not to "speculate" about Jake's private life, but it always turns out to be a source of tension, it seems to me.

I had no idea that Reese had business at the UN. So it does explain why she is in NY. And it is a shame the timing sucks as far as seeing his sister and niece. My idea of him visiting michelle and matilda is that since he is her godfather and things have settled down a lot since Heath's death he could sneak away to Brooklyn or somewhere and meet up with them.
of course I would like it if there were photos, but in the same respect I hope there aren't and they could meet privately.

Hey anons, thanks for the comments. It's very possible Jake is there to support Reese in her statement for Women's Day but otherwise who knows. What I do know is they went to great shops and restaurants.

That is truly cowardly. I suppose these are people who post using regular, on-going names at other sites. They would be embarrased to be caught saying/doing some of the things that are going on. Very sad.

Jake in NYC...squee!!! I don't like them being hounded by the paps but I have been enjoying the pics and videos of Jake and Reese around town.
Love the Gyllenhaal women in Paris. They all look wonderful. I know pics of Ramona are questionable but she is adorable. I really hope, since Fashion Week is over, that they are headed back to the city so they can see Jake. It would be a bummer if Jake was finally back in New York and he could not see his mom, sister and niece.

Not fond of the film, this time, either, but I'll watch it through once, with commentary. Waiting in mailbox is early Heath Aussie film, Two Hands - Brian Brown, too, of whom I have been fond, once upon a time.
Hope Jake stays in NYC for awhile. I know you love him in LA WDW but I love him better in my home town. And glad to see both J and R properly dressed in blacks and greys. Lookin' good.

Hey WDW....thanks for posting the lovely pics...and I must say I am thrilled...I finally have a great photo of Jake...short hair, clean shaven...and YES...I do believe I see the return of that fetching grey cardigan I love so much...Seeing the grey cardigan layered underneath the coat really made my evening..!!
One last thing...I thought perhaps Jake might be filming the space movie next..with the short hair and all..but I have been reading some things online that indicate he might be filming that political movie first...do you have any new info about this?

I love that picture of Maggie in a glamorous dark blue outfit. She has a wonderful figure. The people who only notice her face or hair should look further down. She could so easily have been a model...

Just to let you know I've seen Two Hands. I absolutely loved it! Young Heath was fantastic. Without giving too much away, Heath is suppossed to deliver some money for Bryan Brown's gangster character....AND let's just say things go from there.

I think it's fantastic that Maggie attended so many of her father's poetry readings.
It is said that Maggie is considered a fashion icon in New York City. Maybe she is becoming one in Paris, too.
In any event, the Gyllenhaals very likely have relatives living in the New York area. (Not that they would need to have relatives there in order to justify going to that city occasionally. I've certainly been there enough times without that justification. :-) )
It might be, though, that Jake could be filming in Connecticut next month, and could have work-related meetings with the people who will be shooting there. A lot of agents and other show-business people have offices in Manhattan.

Hi Paul. Mama and Papa have said a few times they prefer NYC to L.A. and even though I agree that Jake is a CA kiddo, the parents and esp. Naomi seem to be "city" people, and I believe they have a home in the West Village. Also, Maggie lives in Bklyn. Jake is always aroumd and about in W Village, I have wondered, as I said, if he doesnt have a place of his own by now. Surely he's investing in real estate - wonder where his friend Chris is, these days.
