Jake in white and blowing bubbles - at the Nailed set, Tuesday 13 May

If further proof were needed that the Nailed production is back at work, then we have it. Yesterday, Nicole, our very own eagle scout in South Carolina, came across the set in Columbia, now relocated from the Statehouse to a local park. And whereas a couple of weeks ago the set was a funeral, this time it was a wedding. Jake Gyllenhaal's character Howard was the best man, dressed in a fine white suit and bow tie and enthusiastically blowing bubbles throughout the scene - as one does at a posh bash.

Although Nicole herself wasn't able to get a photo of the scene, another lucky person was able to and so here is an image to go with Nicole's description.

Nicole saw all of the members of the cast there, with Tracy Morgan the likely groom, Jessica Biel the matron of honour and James Marsden in full uniform. And, while the kind crew gave Nicole and her friend popsicles, Jake enjoyed a break from filming by swinging on a swingbench. Thanks, Nicole!

We don't often see Jake in a white suit so above is another gorgeous example - thanks for the suggestion, Pia. The suit below isn't really white at all, I just like it - and it's not black.

Hey everyone :) how are you all doing?

Thanks a lot for this post WDW, and thank you Nicole and "lucky person" for your report and pic! It's good to know everybody's back at work on the Nailed set!
So it seems seeing Jake in town is becoming like a veeery good habit Nicole! You lucky girl, I wonder how it feels! Keep up the good work, always excited to hear your reports!

Jake looks really good dressed in white! ...even though from a distance he reminds me of Ken, or was it Big Gim, dont know! :D Well, I'd love to be his Barbie anyway :P (my hormones seem to be having a party today.. :-/)

May I ask you what's "popsincles"? :P

Have a great evening everyone ;)

Well that last picture is of course the dove grey suit made out of goats blood and cashmere. Im sure it had alot of cashmere, looked like it and it really clung to his thighs, be still my heart. and other parts.

Thanks to all for making the world really sweet today - see ya later, feel better WDW.

Hi Good Girl :D I know, the thought of having Jake in your home town week after week! Jake can effect hormones so don't worry about that :) A popsicle is, I think, what we in the UK would call an iced lolly. Have a good evening :D

Hi Pia! Ahh, the famous and beloved cashmere and goat's blood suit. I know it's not quite white, or even a little bit, but I just couldn't resist as Jake looked so amazing in it and it wasn't his normal colour. It did cling in such a good way :D

That gray suit looks like another of Jake's suit from a distance: Jake's gray windowpane plaid suit, which is very nice. The design is subtle. Tall, thin guys can wear broad plaids without having to worry about looking too fat....

Thanks Nicole, WDW and "lucky person":) I have to say, I'm not too keen on the white suit, it reminds me of the infamous Liverpool "Spice Boys" Cup Final outfits from years ago! But I suppose if anyone can get away with it, Jake can ;)

Nicole said...

that "lucky person" is a little confused..she thinks Tracy Morgan is Chris Rock and maybe they didn't even recognize Jessica Biel and James Marsden in the pic..at least they got Jake right!

white suit... mmm... i agree, if anyone can pull it off, it is Jake. :P

I got a vibe that the Howard character Jake is playing there thinks he's cunning but actually he's more goofy than sleek.. just a feeling :P

I totally agree, Winterbird

Hi there everyone :D Back from having a nap and then a medicinal cocktail with the lovely Ruby :)

Hi Paul - I think Jake can get away with wearing almost anything/nothing :D

Hey TL! I remember those white suits - errr, yuck - but Jake can carry it off and I do like the bow tie.

Hi Nicole!

Winterbird, I like that and I agree. Jake's caracter is giving off vibes that don't suit, esecially when mixed with smirking at a funeral and blowing bubbles at a wedding. Definitely goofy.

I hope everyone's having a good evening. Unfortunately, I'm in need of more fruit :\

twistedlogic said...

Hey Winterbird! Hopefully we'll get to see Jake pulling off the white suit literally as well as figuratively ;) If he's the best man then by tradition he has to sleep with the bridesmaid, who is Jessica Biel's character:D

I saw the Ch4 trailer for BBM earlier, it gave me gosebumps. I'm not used to seeing Ennis and Jack just pop up on the screen like that.

Hey WDW! Hope you and Ruby had a good time:)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi TL - I definitely hope we see as much of Jake's character out of his suit as in it...

There showing trailers for BBM? I got my new copy of the Director's Cut of Zodiac today as Mr WDW took mine to watch when he's working away. I knew he's take to it in the end :D

I had a lovely time with Ruby but now I have no voice at all. Work sent me home today as they didn't want my germs :( I hope you;re having a good evening!

twistedlogic said...

Hey WDW! Hope you get your voice back soon:)

I've just seen another BBM trailer a few minutes ago, on More4.And I'm not impressed cos I could swear the announcer pronounced Gyllenhaal wrong.

Lol at Mr WDW taking your Zodiac DVD! I'm still waiting for I'm Not There as it's out of stock:(

I agree TL, Jake in white suit is screaming to be pulled off!

I saw the BBM trailer on Channel 4 too tonight... just hearing Heath (Ennis) going, "at the wrong place, at the wrong time and we're dead" gave me goosebumps too!

hey, WDW, have you tried to eat Kiwi? They are better than oranges when it comes to curing flu/cold...

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi TL! I cannot talk at all - it's horrible and unnatural! I'm working at home tomorrow as no-one wants to be within 500 metres of me...

They pronounced Gyllenhaal wrong? maybe 5 years ago that would have been permissable, but not now :( Sorry about your INT DVD but it's worth the wait.

Hey Winterbird :D I've not tried kiwi but I have tried Peroni, a glass of wine and a margarita. Would they not work? At the moment I feel like I may never be able to talk again and some may feel that's not a bad thing :)

Jake blows and pops good bubbles. Cf the Jarhead scene that was deleted from film of bubblegum Jake.

Ruby said...

Hey croaky! :D Glad you got home ok. As did I.

I love that GQ pic of Jake in the window. Uber-sexy even when we can barely see a glimpse of flesh.

bubbles and swing seats - wonder if I could get away with that at work.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Pia :D I've never liked Jake chewing gum but blowing bubbles is something else altogether and is to be encouraged!

Hi Ruby - what have you done to my voice! That GQ pic is one of the sexiest pics I've ever seen of Jake and it is worth much contemplation. If work provided me with a swingbench, I'd swing on it...

twistedlogic said...

I've just seen the BBM ad again and they definitely pronounced Jake's name wrong! How hard is it, ffs?! I know it's stupid but it really annoyed me. I might email them in the morning. Going to watch some SNIT before my blood pressure boils over. Nite xx

He'll losen that bow tie. He always does. (Pictures appear like flashcards in my mind - Jake with bow tie hanging at post-awards bash. . . )

Not only my home but my brain is littered with Jake paraphenalia!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

That's so bad about the name, TL :(

Pia, I love those relaxing with the tie undone pics - especially the ones with Peter :D

I'm off now as feeling yuck. But just have to say I've been watching the UK Apprentice and they used the Jarhead soundtrack! Hey, way to go :D Night all :)

Hey WDW and everyone! :)

Awww Jake on a swingbench lazy swinging by himself...what a great sight it must have been! :)

Jake must be a nightmare for peolple who look after his wardrobe...always in danger to soil or crease his costume...;)

Thanks Nicole!

Have a great day everyone!

*good girl* said...

Hey everyone :)

Sorry for my belated reply, wanted to thank you WDW for answering my question about popsicles :D;) Now I understand ;) Well the crew was really kind and thoughtful!

Wish you all a lovely day :)

Swing seat at work, ruby? :D

Hope you feel better soon, WDW *

Sorry, forgot to say, hope you feel better soon WDW :):-*

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Morning everyone! At home, banished from work with strict orders to put my feet up, drink lots of tea and Jake :D Well, two out three aren't bad... Chucking it down out there though.

Morning Xenia! Jake doesn't look like the type of person who would keep a white tux white very long. I wonder if they covered him up when the food came out at lunch.

Thanks, Good Girl. I hope you have a lovely day :D

Hey Anouska - thanks *) I can see us all on swingseats in the sun with a glass of pimms :D

How plausible is it that voters would elect someone who would smirk at a funeral and blow bubbles at a wedding? (Unfortunately, it probably *is* plausible....) :-(

Anyone who would mispronounce Gyllenhaal is sure to go to Gyllenhell in the afterlife. :-(

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Paul :D I suppose it is pretty plausible - any doubts I ever had on that subject went out of the window when the results came in for the vote for London's new mayor :\

I think TV presenters have had more than enough time to learn how to pronounce Gyllenhaal!

KeepCalm+CarryOn said...

Hi WDW, how goes it? I hope you're feeling better now and resting your voice is helping. What a joy to be able to work from home! Make the most of it ;-)

I had one of my "stop the world,I want to get days yesterday so didn't make it here and so I'm late seeing the latest photo from the "Nailed" set, although a TL-message informed me of the sighting :-*).Well done Nicole for tracking down the set once more!

White suits tend to remind me of "Randall and Hopkirk - Deceased" - and this film would appear to be similarly quirky, although Jake carries off the white suit far better than Kenneth Cope ever did! Must admit I prefer Jake in darker suits but the "light suit in the window" pose is just the epitome of cool and effortless allure. If I were a cat, I'd be purring now ;-)

Should have read 'one of my "stop the world I want to get off" days'.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Nadine! I was just starting to post here and I saw you'd turned up - good to see you :D I'm not working at home today, it was decided I need more rest but I'm feeling sooo much better this afternoon :D

I prefer Jake in darker suits too - the Bafta 2007 and Toronto suits were my favourites (hmm, but the Cannes suit was pretty special....) but the picture of Jake in the doorway sun like that is perfect. Purr away! Hope you're having a better day today :D

KeepCalm+CarryOn said...

Yes, a lot less blue today, thanks WDW....except I've got to sign off now and won't be able to immerse myself in that lengthy, luscious new post you've just put up until later tonight! :-(

Glad you're feeling better! Keep my seat warm and I'll see you later ;-) xxxx
