New Year Resolve

2009 is well and truly here and, if you're unlucky, you may have spent today like me clearing up chocolate wrappers, throwing away the remains of the Christmas pud, taking bottles to the bottle bank and formulating some New Year Resolutions I won't keep. I've been looking to Jake Gyllenhaal for guidance, especially his plan to be fat and happy.

Eat more greens - especially greens I can't identify.

More excercise.

Look after my car more - and get someone to wash it.

See the folks more.

Get some earlier nights.

See more bands.

And see more of this guy.

The last one I'd like to keep.

Includes pictures fom IHJ.

Happy New Year Bandgeek! Definitely like to see more of Jake - in any which way :D

Hope everyone's having a good evening. I'm worn out by all the springcleaning and cooking I've done today...

I hope everyone's having a good 2009 so far:)

I'm exhausted. Need to stop all this partying and come back to work. Pronto.

Will someone, please, explain to me why farmer's markets and organic food are such a big thing in America? I go to places like that almost everyday and no one makes a big deal of it here.

WDW, I hope you're ok. What have you cooked? :)

Hi there Zodiac! Glad to hear you've been partying :D I've been taking it slow (and playing far too much tennis on the wii...). I'm tired too, though :D I was bought veggie cookbooks for my birthday - a big hint? and so I've been proving my culinary capabilities today and clearing out all the cupboards. I finished off with pancakes!

I go to the farmers' market here too and it's good but the Santa Monica one is just fabulous - full of fruit and veg that I can't even recognise, plus lots of flowers and juices. And it's in such a beautiful spot, only a few minutes' walk from the beach. Wouldn't mind being there right now... I don't know what they're like elsewhere in the US. In the UK they're everywhere - and I love the French and Breton markets we get here too.

Potato and apple cake tomorrow :D I need stodge! My word is appropriately eggywic :D

OK, first chance I get to Santa Monica, I'll visit the farmer's market. I'll take an oversized basket, put on a puff jacket and mingle with the crowd;) I hope they sell cherries, because I can eat tons of them and never have enough. I might even elbow my way to the cherry stand, pushing Jake and his blonde woman out of my way and not even noticing them. That's how I love cherries. Sorry Jake.

Good night:)

OMG Zodiac! Cherries are the most yuck fruit in the WORLD! I can't even look at them. You can definitely have any cherry that I come across. I'm more of a pineapple kind of girl. I also don't tend to eat things that are orange :D So while you run after the cherries, I'll go and get a coffee with Jake :D

I owned a basket once, but something ate it. Good night!

WDW I am hungrier than a canyon coyote today! You a vegetarian? Aww I hoping you cook meat for me. Maybe someone else here will cook and send me food. Heres what I looking for: a big pot of juicy beef, horse, chicken, feral cat, turkey, turtle, opossum, and pork stew or just the meat raw, I eat it. Believe me I real easy to feed a whole lot easier than Daddy whos really picky thats for sure. What I need is lots of meat but it don't have to be organic boneless skinless farm raised grainfed and it don't have to be fresh or with no fat or with no gristle or looking all fancy and slathered with hoity-toity sauces. I very happy with cold lumpy beef gravy with thick coagulated lard on top. And the meat it don't have to be all the way cooked and it can be burned and dry like shoe leather so don't worry if your oven doesn't work right. Oh and if you not a very clean cook housekeeper I like eating strange stuff. Hope you send me meat soon. *waits at door for FedEx*

PS my word was pasters, send me pastries too.

Hey Atti! You've run out of Christmas leftovers? You sound very easy to feed but my fridge is full of nutroast, fishcakes and veg. And rhubarb pie. I don't think it will do. Got lots of chocolates though, but dogs can't eat chocolate? How about some cheese - got lots of cheese. You are such a lovely, funny, witty, lovable dog - I hope Jake takes you for a long run today - maybe you'll get a rabbit :D

Have a lovely day everyone! So cold! But warm in here :D

Happy new year!

I normally don't make new year resolutions, but I'll share your last one :)

oh omg... look at what word I got "resse"!

Amen to your resolutions, WDW! I would only add cutting back on carbs. Jake is so inspiring...especially in that picture with his Mother...there is something about the way he looks in that black sweater and jeans, and the way he is standing, that I find really, really inspiring...:)

*feels hurt*

No, no, noooo! Cherries are delicious.

I think pineapple is ok, but I know someone who won't touch it and would hurl a pizza at the waiter if there was the tinniest bit of pineapple on it.

So cold here...

Happy New Year Winterbird! With a word like that, you've gotta post :D

Hi there Bobbyanna!I love those jeans - they're sooo long :D And inspiring... It was good to see Jake with his mum again.

Hey Zodiac! You can eat all the cherries you want - the only enjoyment I've ever had from cherries was a cherry stone spitting competition. I wasn't good as I had to spit out the whole cherry. Pineapple is great in its place, but on a pizza is not one of them. Although Mr WDW would disagree, he loves pineapple and anchovies on all pizzas - ugh.

Cold here too, so I'm not budging. I'm sorting out all my Jake pics - it's taking hours! And it's lovely :)

Hey there. :)

I sadly but predictably can't keep to New Year's resolutions. :/

But these Jake pics sure help, lol. ;)

It's cold here too, WDW. Am just relaxing this weekend before having to trudge back to work on Monday.

Saw both of Kate Winslet's movies over the holiday. She really is one of the best actresses of her generation. Adore her and can't wait to see her, Sam Mendes and Jake at the Golden Globes. Hoping we get some pics of them all together.

Have a great Saturday!

Hi Get Real! I have every intention of not keeping a single resolution but the last :D I am trying to cook more though and I have managed it for one day.

I'm putting my feet up too before the Monday ahead - I've been looking at Jake things all day, sorting out what I have for the blog etc. Time consuming but a lot of fun too.

Thanks for that! I fear I'm going to have to catch both of Kate's films on DVD. I've been watching clips from the Reader and would love to see it. I've got my fingers crossed for the Oscars. It would be great to see Jake with Sam again! I am hoping Jake will make an appearance at the Oscars too. It could be possible this year.

Have a lovely evening :D

Morning Nouskie! I could do with some frothy coffee, there's none within walking distance of me :( My word is truly terrible, I'm almost embarrassed to write it, but here goes... mudshate - ugh... Have a good day!
