Jake's holiday weekend

Jake's hat has had a busy holiday weekend. Having rustled up something tasty with tomatoes and courgettes bought at Ojai's farmer's market on Sunday, Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon attended a beach party in Malibu on Monday. This gave fellow guest Tom Hanks the opportunity to share a laugh with another of Blame It's cameo stars. Also in attendance was Robert Downey Jr - with his own hat. Please note how I've resisted the urge to mention the socks.

Pictures from IHJ (thank you!) and GG.

I know why I hate that hat now... it just seems a bit "trying too hard". But Jake doesn't have to try. He should know he's effortlessly attractive :)

nice california sunshine though. it was the memorial weekend for them, right?

I keep laughing at the farmer's market pictures...he's trying to look like a tourist, right? Blend in with the crowd? He has to be...I seriously don't think he'd put that ensemble of clothes together otherwise! LOL!

I do like the beach party outfit...different but cute. Especially the one shot where we get a glimpse of his Calvins...did y'all see that?!

What's with the new look in Hollywood these days with the button down shirts with those pants that are not really dressy but not really casual...and the hats?? Maybe it's all just a phase and we will be past it soon.

Happy Tuesday (feels like Monday here because, yes, Memorial Day weekend it was)!

Morning Winterbird :D I'm just hoping he'll get bored of it soon. I like to see Jake in sunshine - I believe it was Memorial weekend - I didn't realise it was the same weekend as our Spring Holiday. Have a good day :D

I do hope the discussion of favourite Jake Bits continues!

Hey BBMISwear, posting at the same time! Yeah, you're right, the new HW look for 2009 :D I'm at work and so I've not been able to give the pictures the full attention they deserve, but hmmm, I will definitely be looking very closely now! That farmer's market outfit - how did that come about?! I like the shirt for the party. I hope you had a good long weekend :D

Good morning, wet dark!
Jake, my love, this half is a crime! Hehehe
But you're still hot!

I love the look of Memorial Day!

What can you expect from a guy who doesn't seem ashamed of wearing the same socks in sandals?

;-)

Morning Monica! That's some look, isn't it :D I like the Memorial Day look too (without the hat). have a good day :)

Hi Anna! Posting at the same time... True enough :D I'm slightly disturbed by the socks... They're making me end my sentences in dots again...

Hey all,

I do like the hat at the party but not otherwise. He doesn't need to all the time, really, come now, Jake. ;) Although it does seem to be the "thing" for these guys lately..hence RDJ also in a hat. I do love to see him with RDJ and now Tom Hanks...very cool.

Yes, it was memorial day weekend here in the states. Very nice to pay tribute to our soldiers and have bbq's, lol.

Back to work...sigh... :/

I grant that Jake doesn't need to wear a hat all the time, but I think the one he's wearing in these pictures is a nice one. Besides, I'm convinced that he wants to subliminally influence anyone who might be planning a movie set in the 1930s or 1940s, whn hats were de rigueur.

Yesterday, with some trepidation, I went to see "Terminator Salvation." I would have skipped it were it not that my favorite teenage actor (Anton Yelchin) has a pivotal role in it, playing Kyle Reese as a teenager. He was quite good, but then I'm not objective. ;-)

Love it :))
Those pics from Farmer's Market are hilarious.. he look more like mountaineer from Swiss Alps.. :))
Reese is sooo lucky.

Thank you WDW.. Again :))

What's with the socks again. Jake I forgive you for this crime against fashion but only because you are hot:)

Nice pics at the party and I do love that hat. Those type of hats are really in for guys at the moment. Maybe Jake could be trying to catch the attention of a certain director going by the name of Scorcese......

I really like to see Jake out and about with RDJ. I would love to see them working together again in the future.

Have a great evening:)

Hi there everyone! I was right at the end of writing a comment a couple of hours ago or so, got to the post bit and then a power cut! Back home now and so far I have power :D

Hi Get Real! I hope you had a lovely holiday weekend. Those hats certainly seem to be 'the thing' and I fear Jake is partly to blame :D

Hey Paul! I do kind of think that Jake's fascination with this look might be to attract the attention of someone making a movie. I hope you enjoyed the film - I have trepidation too. But I'll brave it, I'm sure :)

Hi Flower! Glad to know you like the pics :)

Hey Carol :D I know, it's just bad... I hate to say that we do get tourists round here dressed like that. But yeah, Jake's hot so all is well! I agree about the Scorsese possibility - you just never know... I love to see Jake's friendship with RDJ. Another movie together would be good.

Have a good evening! Right, I'll try and post this before it all goes dark again :/

I thought it was out tomorrow-must've read it wrong. You can read the piece on PoP on their website in the sneak preview section at the moment.

Hi Carol! I'll have another go tomorrow :) I can see the page on the sneak preview but not read it unfortunately. Great to see the film in there - and next to Iron man 2 too :D
