This Christmas, we have had our first proper look at four of the five sets of Prince of Persia lego that we will be spending considerable amounts of 2010 playing with. Who needs PoP in 3D when you can go home and reenact your favourite scenes. Not only do we have camel lego, we also have bare-chested ostrich-racing Jake Gyllenhaal lego. I don't know how I managed without it. The five sets are 'The Ostrich Race', 'Battle of Almut', 'Quest Against Time', 'Fight for the Dagger' and (not pictured) 'Hassasins Hide Out'. I'll take the lot and, before you know it, I'll have my own Pinewood Studios, complete with escaped scorpion lego.

I've heard of Spin, Jake's co star in Moonlight Mile owns the place (Susan Sarandon) So I bet they'll play catchup. I hope someone might video tape the event. I'd like to see what kind of ping pong player Jake is (I bet he's very competitive)

I just went to watch Sherlock Holmes (Brilliant! Love Roberty Downey Jr. :D ) and as i came out there was a prince of persia posterrr, i freaked out and people stared..this might be old news. but its the first one i've seen :) YAY.

I just came back from seing Sherlock Holmes too. It was great! RDJ is quite sexy in it. :) And I don`t know if it`s just me, maybe I`ve been reading too much slash, but Sherlock and Watson sure argued and acted more like a couple than colleagues. :D I had a lot of fun.
I`ll try to see Imaginarium tomorrow. I`ll have to drive a half an hour to a cinema I`ve never driven to before (something I hate doing) but I really want to see it on the big screen and I`m not sure they`ll be showing it at my local theatre. But hey, if you can fly to Florida to see one of Jake`s movies, I guess I can drive 30 minutes to see Heath. :)

I hope you won't be disappointed when you see "Sherlock Holmes," WDW. I'm not saying it isn't enjoyable on its own terms, but it strays pretty far from Arthur Conan Doyle's version as illustrated by Paget. Sherlock doesn't wear the hunter's cap that we've become used to, and he does far more fighting than purists have come to expect. But, hey, it's entertaining, and Jude Law is the best Watson I've seen in a long time. Casting is generally good, and Downey is unsurprisingly quirky. The critics on this side of the Atlantic generally like it.
But don't let anyone tamper with Bertie Wooster and Jeeves. Stephen Fry is the ultimate Jeeves in my mind. ;-) If Downey wants to do more remakes, let himdo King Arthur. :-)
Hi Paul! I can see what you mean, but I have grown so tire of the 'Basil Rathbone Sherlock' - I swore I'd never see another Sherlock again, but RDJ is absolutely an exception - the trailers look amazing. Even accounting for my Jude Law aversion!
Unfortunately, I'm still too sick to sit through a movie but I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be up to it. It's such a bore being so ill over Christmas.
I would have liked to have seen RDJ doing a Robin Hood, instead of Russell Crowe.

Maybe a Jake movie on DVD will help?! I'm glad to be past the crazy few weeks I've just experienced but now it's on to the cleanup. I try to give myself a little internet break every once in a while just to keep my sanity...it's actually helping!
I love the idea of Jake playing ping pong for charity...what an interesting idea! I have also heard of Susan Sarandon's new place Spin in NYC (she talked about it on the View recently) ...it's becoming quite a big thing I guess...a bar and ping pong tables. LMAO at "paddlegate" - here we go again. Someone should ask Jake during the tournament what he calls that thing in his hand...I'm 100% sure he will NOT call it a bat...LOL!!
Oooooh...I just love the Prince Legos...and laughed out loud when I saw "Ostrich Racing"! How funny! Oh I can just imagine the fun Jake is going to have with all this type of stuff when doing publicity for this movie. *starts to redesign the green room to make room for all Lego sets*
Thanks for the heads up re: movies in our area, Paul. I just checked the Sunday Globe to see what's out there in various areas around Boston and nothing for Imaginarium or Crazy Heart yet. I hope these movies make it to a relatively close theater soon. Especially Imaginarium. Crazy Heart seems the type of movie that would be fine on DVD if not seen in the theater but I think Imagainarium must be seen on the big screen for one's first viewing. As hard as it may be.

I saw Avatar over the holiday weekend, it was even more amazing than I thought it would be. It's an entire three dimensional world, and I absolutely loved the female lead character, Natiri. Sigourney Weaver was great in it too. I hope there's more - it's too wonderful of a world to forget!
While I was at the theater, I saw the big three - PoP characters posters. Looking forward to hearing more about Jake's charity ping pong event too.
Speaking of fantastical worlds, I don't see a listing anywhere near me for the IoDP - I'll basically see it anywhere I can.

Saw a poster for Brothers for the first time today at one of our cinemas. Hopefully it will start getting a bit of publicity soon especially on our tv and radio. Went to see Nine and it lived up to all my expectations. Daniel Day Lewis is great in it.
There's so many good movies out now - I do want to see Sherlock Holmes, Nine, Crazy Heart, IoDP, among the many. If Prince of Persia is going to be in 3-D, I just might be a goner. You felt like you could almost walk around in the land of Pandora in Avatar, brush up against the ferns and plants, flinch from a flying insect. And the bond of horse and rider, it was just so storybook an and beautiful. A great thing. :)

My son's girlfriend went to the movies this afternoon with her sister...Kips Bay theaters (NY,NY) to see Avatar and saw JAKE GYLLENHAAL!!! Her sister asked if she could take a pic with him; he said not today. Kips Bay is a great theater center to attend... it's off the beaten trail...way off ...If you want you may take the theater location off your site to protect him in case he wants to go again there...but for I had to tell and squeeeeeeeeee:)
I am still screaming...neither my son nor I saw Jake...this is a purely visceral response...OMG!
My son is laughing his ass off at me and leaving a text to his girlfriend...he just told me this news...he forgot 'til now when he rememembered my Jake obsession...He's a good son:lol

I saw Imaginarium yesterday. *sigh* It was as hard I as thought it would be but I'm glad I went. Heath is beautiful and it was great hearing his voice again and watching him on the big screen. It's horrible to think that will never happen to me again. There were a couple of scenes I found very difficult to watch; the one where Tony is hanging from the bridge, looking dead, and one where Johnny Depp talks about dead legends and every word he spoke could have been applied to Heath. There's also a scene where you see very clearly the leaf tatoo Lily Cole got in memory of Heath. I'm glad I went by myself because no one in my RL would have understood why I was crying and I'm sure I never could make them understand.
I found the movie itself very weird. But Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Collin Farrel did a great job finishing the story. I always thought Heath and Johnny ressembled each other and Collin even had some of Heath's mannierisms.
There was a big POP poster in the lobby, the one with just Dastan's face. Normally I would have been extatic, but yesterday, it just reminded me of how unfair it is that Heath is gone. There will never be another new poster for
him.
