As is the way with film releases, as a movie opens in one country, it can already be released on DVD elsewhere. To mark the release of Source Code on DVD and blu ray in the UK, In Style has released a video which contains snippets in which Jake Gyllenhaal, writer Ben Ripley, producer Jordan Wynne and an astrophysicist explain the meaning of the source code. Watch closely - there may be a test later.

When the dust finally settles, I hope "Source Code" will be regarded as a major film, the way "Avatar" was. It deserves the recognition.
Another Jake film that deserved kudos was "Love and other drugs." I'm not sure I can get any comfort from the fact that Hank Azaria went on to do "The Smurfs," which I saw a couple days ago. Is his career on a downward slope? Anton Yelchin was in "Smurfs" too, and I see that he's following it with "Fright night." Yikes! From the latest "Terminator" movie and the "Star Trek" reboot down to Clumsy Smurg and a teenager in a vampire movie! Ouch!

Hey Paul, don't get me started on Avatar, huge disappointment to me. Donnie Darko's explanation of Smurfette and Gargamel made me mildly curious to see The Smurfs but thankfully I won't be going. Going to see Horrible Bosses later instead.
So very proud of Source Code and every aspect of the story, even the slow parts, all are relevent in the big scheme of things. I adore the ending which I know doesn't sit well with many people. One guy even tweeted to Duncan that he would have preferred the 'freeze-frame' ending. I love Duncan's response to him.
So Source Code and Love and Other Drugs (watched it this morning and again cried like a baby) are the latest additions to my near complete Jake Gyllenhaal movie collection. So sad that I have to wait a whole year for more but it will be worth the wait. I would however love to see any dvd or footage of the Railroad Tour by Mumford and Sons having just discovered them last year and recognising their music in films and tv adverts.
I loved in that interview you posted WDW that he confirmed he believed in fate as I do. I'm proud of his film choices as they reflect his hunger for life and answers to very big questions that have no easy answers, nor should they. I look forward to some fun projects hopefully a children's one. Bearded or bald he's still Jake to me and I'll take him boiled, scrambled, poached or fried :DD
