Jake Gyllenhaal - taking it easy

While researching this weekend's post on Jake's expressive t-shirts, I realised - and I admit that I'm slow - that photographers have had certain favourite ways in which to present Jake Gyllenhaal to his admiring public. To throw water at him is one choice, and we have enjoyed that here, but another is to stick him on a bed, even when he doesn't look the least bit sleepy...




Unfortunately - and I'm not counting film shots here, only photographic shoots - they make Jake keep his clothes on. This is clearly impractical, hazardous to the cleanliness of the white cotton/bamboo sheets and detrimental to our full appreciation of these poses. No pajamas or bedsocks in sight. Nevertheless, even when Jake is put on a bed fully booted one can enjoy his lack of sleepiness.





Sometimes, there is no bed about and, in these situations, the photographer will make do with whatever is to hand - be it a car, a hammock or a thing.




There are other times when there is a bed about but Jake prefers a nice piece of carpet.




I do feel, however, that it is unreasonable to expect Jake to look comfy while lying in the middle of the road. Neverthless, Jake makes lying in the middle of the road look hot - just so long as there's a man a few feet on holding up a sign that says 'Stop!'



Sometimes, Jake gets guests.

With thanks to IHJ for some new old pictures of Jake today, here is Jake looking not a little starstruck when he had an encounter with Magic Johnson outside an LA restaurant back in 2006. Know just how he feels (just multiply it 1000 times...).
