Anne Hathaway says 'Yes!' and boys shopping for pets

The lovely Anne Hathaway has confirmed that she is to act alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs. She did so on The View (right at the end of this clip), leading to a rather strange confusion between Jake and Joaquin Phoenix. I know that Jake has a famous similarity to a certain other actor, but Joaquin Phoenix? Many thanks to Gretchen for the discovery.

A short post today, necessitated by a date tonight with these two guys in a rather large dome.

Which reminds me of this...

Includes pictures from IHJ.

I think that Jake and Anne complement each other a lot. As for finding an actor to play Jake's character's father, I've come up with Plan B: Jake himself.

It's not exactly unprecedented. Mike Meyers played his character's father in "So I Married an Axe Murderer." Eddy Murphy played the son, the father, the mother, and even the grandmother in "The Abesentminded Professer." Dick Van Dyke didn't actually play his character's father in "Mary Poppins," but he played a very ancient chairman of the board with great effect.

Of course, the key ingredient would be Jake wanting to do it, and then the director agreeing to let him. I admit it's a longshot, but a guy can dream, right? ;-)

Joaquin Phoenix???
Agree that he and Jake can't be compared..
He is good actor but yet too dark and mysterious for my taste.
I feel so brrrr when i watch his movies :)))

You lucky things heading to the Pet Shop Boys tonight. Enjoy:)

I'm on the road this weekend to see Oasis and the Prodigy at Slane Castle. Should be great as long as the weather holds up. Fingers crossed.

Love the clip with Anne. It's so great that herself and Jake are being reunited. Really can't wait for that one.

Hope everyone has a great weekend:)

Have fun at the concert WDW - love the "pet shopping" pics!!

Thank you Monica for the link info...now if I can make sense of it...I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually!

Interesting idea of Jake playing his character's Dad...a lot of time in the make up chair for him if that happens. I can't wait to find out if September 21st will be the actual start date of filming and where it will be filmed. New England is really beautiful in the fall and a great time to go to Fenway Park (hee hee)!

Happy Friday! :-)

Haha "The weirdness of Jake...." That lady on The View was right first time - that's why we love him, right? :DD

Jake and Anne together again is awesome. Hands down it will be great. They only had a few scenes together in BBM so it will be a joy. She seems to be beautiful inside as much as she is on the outside.

Have fun WDW, guys and girls with The Pet Shop Boys. I may see Take That next month if I can find 3 other people willing to go (a friend has 5 tickets for sale but can't break them up).
