The bad news is that Brothers and Jake Gyllenhaal will not be getting the Toronto treatment this September, with Peter Sarsgaard being our sole representative at the festival. While one may have to conclude that, for whatever reason, Jim Sheridan has decided not to use festivals for Brothers, the door for London's October Film Festival is still open, with the lineup to be announced on 9 September. In the meantime, there is another new still from Brothers to enjoy. This image was used in Entertainment Weekly but now we can have a better look.
The cast of Love and Other Drugs is growing. Variety has announced that Judy Greer (27 Dresses) will feature in the movie as a pharmaceutical company trainee instructor.
As to where Jake is at the moment, a hint comes from a tweet by Duncan Jones, the director of the highly recommended indie movie Moon, who is currently in LA. In what sounds like yesterday: 'Also had a painfully early breakfast meeting with Jake Gylenhall [ahem]. A proper, truly lovely gent! Very much want to work with him.' The Moon theme continues...

I love anything to do with Brothers! But I hope these producers do the right thing and promote this film the right way. Jake back in LA? Hmmmm. The traveling man.
Well it's been a while since I've been able to drown myself (happily) in WDW posts but over the last couple of days I read through 2 weeks worth of posts that I was only able to skim when they were posted or couldn't even read at all. RL has been a bit stressful these days but I'm convinced there is no better remedy for that than reading WDW posts!!
I'll try not to go on and on (and will certainly be giving Olympia a run for her money if she tries to measure my comment...ha ha) but a few things jumped out at me that I have a huge need to comment on!
There was one ultra-beautiful post from about 2 weeks ago with pictures of Jake and Heath alternated one after the other after the other that left me in a combined state of panting, smiling and wanting to cry all at the same time. Thank you so much WDW!!
I smiled from ear to ear when one post touched upon what one should do if meeting Jake by chance! And the comments to this post were great and brought back so many memories for me. Although my meeting with him was planned I was always amazed at some of the quirky topics that came up and that the first thing we talked about after the normal "nice to meet you's" was how his t-shirt was from Target! (I'm still not sure I believe him)! And it seems a lot of people here agree that Jake likes to flirt - and if there is one huge conclusion Ted and I came to after spending some time with him is he likes to be flirted with! I think he really enjoys the attention - the way he smiles and the gleam in his eyes when he is being showered with attention! And who asks a fan to touch their hair piece?! And let's her stroke his real hair and just giggles instead of pulling away?! *still feels like passing out when thinking about this*
Oh...and the Goofiness post was terrific WDW!! The night I read that I popped the Bubble Boy commentary selection into my DVD player and laughed along with Jake and the director once again...it had been ages...I love it!!
All this new Unnamed Moon Project stuff is really exciting...I love the thought of Jake as one of the producers and how so much of "him" is going to be in this movie.
There was so much more I read and want to comment on but I'm afraid I will be kicked out of this community if I go on for one more minute! Thank you, WDW, for your wonderful posts...this is the best Jake Blog on the planet (and I consider myself someone who should know...ha ha)! Thank you, too, for those wonderful old articles that are hard to get but you get them and share them with us here...I love those more than I can say.
See you soon! :-)
Hey now! Are you calling me a blabbermouth, BBMISwear? That's not very nice even if it's true! :DDD And you did just gave me a run for my money, I don't even have to mesure your comment! ;)
Olympia
Yeay! Great to get home to a whapper of a comment - thanks BBMISwear :-) I'm so glad you got the chance to catch up with the posts and I love to hear you talk about them, makes me glad I did them :D
I adore stories of Jake the Flirt and your 'hair experience' just tops the lot, that and the t-shirt stroking incident :D
Thank you so so much! What nice things to say *)
Hey Olympia! How are you doing over there? Good to see you :)
I hope everyone's having a good day. And it's Friday! And what's even better than that is I now have two whole weeks off! Someone ask me what I'm doing with it... :D
Many news related to Jake.
But first I have to tell what happened to me.
Tuesday my mother died. Occurred quickly and I'm still trying to believe in the reality that I am currently living.
I will return to comment
the news.
Hi WDW, I'm doing OK over here, can't wait for the week-end after a hard week at work.
So, what are you doing with your two week's vacation?
Olympia
Oh my God, Monica. I am so so sorry for your devastating loss. I am so upset for you. All we can do is be company for you here when you need us. You know where I am. I wish I could hug you, love Kate xx
Hi Olympia :) Not long now and you can put your feet up. After Monica's terrible news I just want to hold everyone tight!
I'm off to Boston and Massachussetts and I'm taking you all with me!
Oh Monica, I'm so sorry for you loss. My sincere condoleances to you and your family. How awful.
Olympia
All right! Road trip! :)
Olympia
Road trip :D So... who can recommend some good places round Boston town to get a glass of wine and some fish? (cooked fish, not swimming fish)
I bet Paul could. Will you be going to Martha's Vineyard? Maybe you'll run into Chris! :)
Olympia
I bet Paul could too :) BBMISwear and I are going to be doing some exploring, including MV, I hope :D I'm looking forward to seeing the sea...
I'm so sorry for your loss, Monica, and hope you are doing as well as you can at a time like this. You have a lot of people here who have you in their thoughts.
Leave it to Olympia to see my 4 mile long post first...ha ha!!
Boston? Martha's Vineyard? Don't forget Moonlight Mile sites! Whooowheee!!!
*counting the minutes*
Thanks for everything, my friends!
My condolences, {{Monica}}.
Monica I am very sorry to hear about your mother. I lost my mother too. BIG HUGS
WDW thanks for the pics of Brothers and an update as to where Jake is now. I wonder if he it going to be working on getting ready to film Love and other drugs (I wonder how long it takes him to learn a script and if he has to do it all at once or a little at a time for each scene)
so duncan jones is directing. I've never heard of him
Sweetpea
Morning everyone - the weekend and the start of the holidays!
Monica, we're thinking of you xx
Hey BBMISwear! I most certainly haven't forgotten - not long now :)
Hi JoeAnn :0
Hi there Anon! It makes me think that during this year Jake may have been busier than I thought, working on UMP, preparing for Love and Other Drugs and who knows what else? Next year will be a year of bounty :D I've heard mixed things about Jake and his script learning skills. But for Proof, Jake turned up for the audition with the whole script memorised. I suppose for a film you would focus on the scene for the next day. Interesting :)
Hi Sweetpea, Duncan Jones is the director of Moon, not UMP. I think this was just a speculative meeting. He's David Bowie's son :D
Have a good day everyone!
My heart is with you, Monica. ((((hugs))). This is terrible news.
I think Jake is going to be filming his movie with Anne Hathaway, so the TIFF was probably difficult for him to schedule.
Delighted to hear you are in Massachusetts...and no hard feelings about Lexington and Concord...
(((Monica))) my condolences.
WDW, have a fantastic time in Boston/MV/Mass.
You are going to MV when the Obamas are there?!?! Lucky you and BBMISwear! Be prepared for a LOT of traffic and people. If you see the Prez and first family give a hello from me. ;)
Seems Jake is probably in Philly, but if you do see him on MV say a hello for us! :p
I am not ecstatic about the Obama's being on MV while we are there...it's been ages since I've been (and now have the BEST person to go back there with) and the place is going to be crawling with secret service and paparazzi...UGH! Oh, and there's a hurricane coming in tonight/tomorrow (although thankfully it went down from a 4 to a 2)! Oh yes, WDW comes to the Northeast and all hell breaks loose...LOL!!
But...I'm sure we will manage to have just a little teeny tiny bit of fun. We have found we have a few things in common...hee hee!
*goes back to trying to pin point the EXACT location of that damn park bench that Jake and Dustin sit on in Moonlight Mile*
:-)
I should think that the island of Martha's Vineyard might be on virtual lockdown with the Obama's there. A Presidential vacation requires the transporting of many people beyond the First Family and the Secret Service. There are also a lot of famous celebrities who will be on hand to visit as well.
(At the intersection of politics and celebrity, timing is everything.) You will, no doubt, have absolutely no difficulty at all finding fish, WDW! LOL! There is an abundance of it, many great restaurants to chose from.
I am truly sorry for your loss, Monica. Please know we are all thinking of you, and that you aren't alone.
Hi Aulterep! I've almost forgotten Lexington and Concord.... Almost... chuckle :DD
Thanks Get Real! We'll be sure to see hello to Prezzy for you - I want to see the First Dog. I think it's true to say that we will be keeping our eyes peeled for Jakes.... Looking forward to seeing the MM places too so we can reenact some famous scenes :D Off on Monday.
I hope everyone's having a good day. Strange old day here :)
Hey BBMISwear - posting at the same time :-) A hurricane! OMG.... I thought I was safe for those visiting the NE rather than my usual destination of Florida! Yep, looking forward to going to THAT bench :D Just a few things in common... ahem :DD
Hi Anon! Politicans, celebrities, Jaking, fish restaurants and a hurricane - that's going to be quite a visit! So long as the secret service don't eat all the fish.
Sending some love to Monica as a new day begins xx
PS Been putting some more vids up on the WDW Channel...
When you get a chance, check out MV Gazette online. There's quite a good article about the Presidential visit. There will be fly over restrictions as well as other inconveniences.
The hoards of media attending will surely add to the confusion, but then, the media need places to stay, and they do eat, so it's good for the local economy.
The Obama's are determined to have a real vacation with a lot of privacy. He's certainly earned it! He's been an extremely hard-working President in only seven months!(President Clinton spoiled people, bcz he often was out in public schmoozing people.)
It's very exciting that you're coming here! It's a trip well worth taking.
Thanks 15:28! I'm really looking forward to starting my trip. I've not been to that part of the NE before and I have the most perfect person to explore it with.
I've read that article - it's all going to cause quite a kerfuffle! And there we were thinking we'd picked a quiet time... But I hope we all have a good holiday there - us and the Prez! And I'm looking forward to exploring Boston and other parts of the Mass. coast.
That was a wonderful post, BBMIswear! Monica, I'm so sorry about your mother. :-( WDW, if you're in Boston, and you want fish, try Legal Seafoods, perhaps the best restaurant in the area, and certainly the place of choice for seafood. I'm not wandering the streets of Boston today, though, as I have to work all day.... I can't recommend any places for wine, but I'm sure there's no shortage of good bars, given how many good hotels and restaurants we have. Bostonians eat and drink in abundance. That said, there are some very nice places right along the waterfront.
I saw "In the loop" yesterday, and enjoyed it thoroughly. Mim Kennedy is one of the my favorites comediennes, and I'm also a big fan of David Rasche. Alas, neither has ever been in a movie with Jake.
Hi Paul! I'm certainly looking forward to the seafood and wine :D I don't know what the local cocktails are but I'm looking forward to those too! Thanks for the Legal Seafoods tip, I'll have a look on the net now :) Sorry to hear you're working on a Saturday :(
Monica I'm really sorry to hear about your Mother. You will be in my thoughts.
Have a great holiday WDW:)
Thanks Carol! I hope you're having a good weekend :)
