[Updated with more pictures] Jake Gyllenhaal at George Clooney's premiere of Descendants at NYFF

George Clooney took to the red carpet yesterday (16 October) for the premiere of The Descendants at the New York Film Festival. However, if one were to look a little to the left, down a bit and round the corner, there not on the red carpet for the premiere of Descendants was none other than our NYFF eyes and ears, Jake Gyllenhaal, here photographed with a lovely young lady.

Meanwhile, the November issue of the UK Cosmopolitan focuses on the attitude of men to love and sex, including both famous men and not so famous men. Among the former is Jake along with the quote: 'The wonderful part about falling in love is the time spent naked... the times spent intimate like that.' There is far less from Jake than the other male celebrities in the magazines (I took a look at lunch time) and it is a line very reminiscent of the interviews for Love and Other Drugs.

Updated to add another couple of pictures from IHJ of Jake and his gorgeous smiling friend at the premiere:

Many thanks to IHJ for these lovely new pictures!

:) :) :)!
Jake is just adorable in those pictures! He keeps his hair and beard in a nice shape, looking gorgeous. It's also nice to see him in good mood, chatting with young lady, having good time, obviously.

Jake's quote is lovely. I like what he said. :) One more Jake's sentence to memorize. I wish him many naked, intimate moments when he'll fall in love. Did he say anything else in that magazine? It was the shortest statement from all the others.

What George Clooney said about his parents was also nice.

Trailers for The Descendants look really good. It appears to be quite an emotional story, maybe heavy at times, but enjoyable and uplifting by the end of the film.

I'd love to see what would come of a collaboration between George Clooney and Jake.

Lookin' Good! (in those pics from last night that is). People from New York: More pics please!

:-)

Hi Mermon! These pictures are just gorgeous! Jake's sentence does sound very familiar and I think it's been taken from the Love and Other Drugs publicity - that's the only like from him. The other actors had quite a bit more. George Clooney is lovely :)

Hey Susan! I hope I get to see The Descendants, it sounds great. Oh, I'd love to see that!

I know he has a female cousin that lives in NY - could this be her?

Those are great pictures. We haven't seen Jake this cheery and smily in a long time.
From the other pictures on IHJ it looks like the woman came to the NYFF with Jake.
If she were blond I'd say her chances with Jake are pretty high. Maybe Jake has realised that hair color isn't everything.
Maybe she's the reason he's in NY so long. I'd love to see that happen for him. The woman looks just lovely.

Who knows, Leslie :) Jake must have so many friends in NYC and it's great to see him out and about with such a smile on his face! Made me smile too :) She does look so much like Maggie though!

Hi there Mrs JG! She looks lovely! And it's so nice to see Jake smile like that. Thanks for the heads up on more pics - I'll add a couple.

I've just posted my review of the wonderful Lion King 3D on MovieBrit

You're welcome. Just read your review. I think I will take my kids to see this if it comes to a theater near me. Unbelievable it's been 17 years.

Thanks Mrs JG! I saw Lion King in a cinema full of little kids and they just loved it - made me love it even more :) Put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

I think she looks like Jake. Her name (if that's who she is) is Rachel Achs, the one Peter, Ramona, and he went to see graduate from Yale.

Margot said...

@Leslie: If that girl is Rachel Achs, is she related to Jake's mom? Naomi's maiden name is Achs. She does look like Maggie.

It's nice to see Jake smiling at the cameras, for a change (though I completely understand why he doesn't).

Hakuna Matata!
Lion King is a fantastic movie.
I remember enjoying it with my daughter on DVD. It's such a cool kids' movie. Hm, not for kids only. :)
@Leslie, thx for solving the mystery of the lady. I remember those pics from Yale. She was someone from a family.

Leslie said...

Well, I'm not sure if it is her but yes, she's from his mom's side of the family.

Leslie said...

Hmmmm, it might not be Rachel - it's hard to tell. HERE is a picture of Rachel from 2005.

Morning everyone!

Hi Leslie and Margot :)

Hakuna Matata, Mermon! Oh I loved it! I've seen a few quite dark movies lately and this just felt so good! And it was lovely seeing how much the little kids in the cinema loved it.

Good to see you, Snow! Jake looks wonderful - love that smile :)

Have a good day everyone!

It could be Rachel but I'm not sure. The nose looks pretty different.

For Jake I'm hoping it's not his cousin, but someone who could make him happy every day.

I think is Lindsy Fonseca !!

Leslie said...

It's definitely not Lyndsy Fonesca, close resemblance in a couple of pictures but you can tell it's not her in the full body shots. For all we know it could just be some random girl that walked up to him and he started chatting. It also looks like she was walking away from him. Who knows?

Hi Mrs JG! I can barely recognise anyone from my own family in photos!

ooh they do look similar 13:21 :)

Hi Leslie! I have no idea who she is. But she looks lovely and certainly put a smile on Jake's face, which is very nice to see :) Who knows, maybe we'll see her again!

Margot said...

Yeah, I don't see a resemblance to lydsy Fonesca. I don't care though, Jake looks great in these pics (as usual) and I hope he is enjoying himself in NYC!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Margot! Agreed :) And he does look wonderful. I feel so good seeing these pictures today.

Hi Leslie! ooh that's interesting! Although why people think one can't go out with someone just because they're an old friend... :D She's really lovely! Thanks for the link.
