Jake Gyllenhaal runs and hugs around NYC (17 October)

Jake Gyllenhaal took a break from the New York Film Festival yesterday and was seen and photographed outside in the open air. He took the opportunity to give someone a hug in the street - either they were very lucky indeed or they were a friend. They certainly like similar bags. Jake was also seen running for - or from - a cab.

Jake continues to be seen around NYC. A sighting puts him today holding the door open for a very fortunate tweeter at Bklyn Larder. He might be in a hurry but he's certainly polite.

Many thanks to IHJ for the new pics!

Hahaha, those running's photos are so funny. Jake is a great runner, but look how different is the style of running privately, when he rushes somewhere, from sport jogging. Different position of the body. Had to think about his iPod in the upper pocket, and protect it with his index finger. :)Looks very good.

New York seems to suit Jake wonderfully, except for the tweets and an occassional pap, he seems pretty free.

That guy looks familar, famous I think. I can't make put his face with a name.

Great post, thanks for sharing!
If Jake ever held the door open for me I would probably faint right then and there - hopefully into his awaiting arms. :P

I'm loving all the pics...ask and thy shall receive!! You make me laugh WDW - your comments about the hug, running and liking similar bags had me laughing out loud! It's fun to have fun with the pictures, huh?! I'm ready for more already (sorry Jake). :-)

Morning everyone! Got the lurgy :(

He does, 23:07 :) Jake certainly seems to carry on with his own business in NYC, combining it with family and friends, sounds ideal to me.

Me too, Ayda! He must get used to it :D Good to see you!

Morning BBMISwear :-) I love having fun with the pictures and I love the little details! Those bags, eh? men and their bags... :D I love to share a laugh with you!

Hi there Mayumintolor! I do too - I know it's not great for Jake and I hope it doesn't take many moments out of his day but I can't help loving them...

Have a good day everyone! I wouldn't get too close if I were you - I'll try and keep WDW germfree.... :D

With thanks to Leslie for the link on the last post, the identity of the beautiful girl has been revealed she's old friend Sophia Buhia!

Morning, Kate. Hope you are feeling better, or at least not at death's door with the flu.

I'm guessing Jake will be in NYC through 10/26 because his dad Stephen tweeted that they are screening his new movie Grassroots at Columbia U that day.
"GRASSROOTS is a character-driven comedy about the power of the people and the virtues of standing up for what you believe in. Against all odds. It’s politics. But not as usual." It's based on a true story and sounds like a really interesting movie I'd like to see.

BTW, I saw Trollhunter last night. That's the Norwegian film about real trolls and the problems they cause in Norway. It was great! I was particularly impressed with the seamlessness of the special effects, even if I probably didn't get all the culture-specific in-jokes.

Hello everyone!

Thanks Susan! Got a stinking cold :( That certainly makes sense with Jake. I'll be very surprised if he's not there.

I loved Trollhunter and it was so nice to meet the director and star in a lift!

Sometimes old friends (if single) make the best romantic mates.

Sorry if I offend anyone but sometimes I feel Jake's female fans (not you WDW) would rather he be alone because they get too bothered about pics of Jake with women. Some day he will marry, maybe more than once. I just hope Jake fans don't get too depressed when it happens. Lol. I recognize the obsession, I had the same with a different actor. It crushed me everytime I saw him with a woman but I got over it.

I'll never meet him and he'll never know me, the most I wish is for people to be happy - including him. But let's not jump to conclusions here - the girl may have just been there on her own and they stopped to chat. If not, then I hope they had a good time. :)

Hello everyone! Being a little quiet on and offline today as in bed with the lurgy. No doubt I'll feel much better tomorrow.

Hi JFO! Like everyone here I want Jake to be happy. Personally, I'm not bothered seeing Jake photographed with anyone, especially when they put a smile on his face. I mentioned on the last post that I certainly don't think that being old friends is an impediment! But Jake is a man of loveliness and mystery to us all and so one can hardly be surprised if not all fans want to see him married off and off the shelf! It's all irrelevant because one hopes Jake will do what he wants regardless to be happy.

I should mention I have a temperature and so this no doubt has addled my brain...

Hi Leslie! We do indeed not know him or the circumstances of the pics but I do know I love the pictures :) Thanks very much for the Maggie link!

Thanks Christina! Glad you enjoyed the posts :)

Thanks so much, Mayumintolor! It's only a cold so I should be fine again tomorrow.

All the best for you, Kate, take good care of yourself, have a good rest.
Good news, on Saturday, we sleep one hour longer! At least in Poland. :)

I'm afraid just one extra hour of sleep won't do much for me. May I have two? :)

Hi everyone. It's Friiiiiiday evening! Phew, what a week. Those lovely photos have put the smile back on my face, WDW, thank you! :-) If I ignore the idea of the entire Atlantic between us, I find Jake's hair'cut' irresistable at the moment. I'd love to run my fingers through it. Now isn't that a nice thought for the weekend. ;-)

I hope you'll feel better soon!!

Hi everyone! Sorry for being so quiet - not too well.

Thanks Mermon! Oh I hate it when the clocks go back - those long winter nights :(

I know what you mean, Susan!

Hi there Lady Ekster! I love the haircut - this is a great look on Jake - reminds me of that lovely Brothers look :)
