It's occurred to me that, in quick succession, we have had two Jake Gyllenhaal films postponed: Prince of Persia and now Brothers. This follows Paramount's delaying tactics last year in releasing Zodiac drip by drip, not to mention the absence altogether of a release date for Nailed. Although the delay in Brothers has been compensated for by the carrot that is Jake in Cannes, I can only conclude that these delays are no coincidence and they are because we have been bad in some way. So we must pay a penance. Only then will the powers that be make a Jake film and actually release it on the day that they've been publicising. Therefore, today's post is a short test.

Haha... WDW, you are determined to see some Jake film this year, aren't you?
I think maybe it has more to do with Jake - he has this thing about having 4 movies coming out within 1 to 1.5 years... :P
I am not too worried about the delay, I remember thinking how stupid the studio was when they didn't wait for Zodiac to showcase in Cannes first and dumped it in March in US... if Brothers get better treatment, let it postponed. I think "Nailed" might sneak up on us... :)

Hi there Winterbird!I get waves of happiness because of Cannes and then waves of missing Jake - after all it's now a year since the last interviews etc. BUT, as you say, Jake's career does seem to flow with these gaps and then a spate of films all in a row! I do wonder what Jake thinks of these delays, as it means they come out a long time after he's finished filming them.
I'm relying on Nailed sneaking in! And you're right about Zodiac.
