Whetting our appetite and making friends

A new trailer has been released (in Tokyo) for the forthcoming Prince of Persia game, due out in December, and it's a stunner.

To accompany the trailer, there are also some new screen captures from the game. If this is any indication of the landscapes, scenery and sets that we might expect in the movie version and from Jake Gyllenhaal's Prince Dastan, then we are in for a treat for the senses.

Friends

Many times here we have chatted about what we would do if we saw Jake in the street - what would be the best tactic to grab some of that gold dust attention? Anything from asking directions to owning the kind of dog that would catch frisky Atticus' eye. Jake, it seems, has faced the same dilemma himself when faced with seeing someone he admires in the street. Should he let the moment pass or should he grab it? In this case he grabbed it.

Jake told Flaunt magazine back in 2001 that when he encountered John C Reilly on the streets of New York, there was only one thing for it - he had to offer John a meringue: 'I was in New York last year and I had these meringues that I had bought for my mom. I was holding this big pink box and I saw John C Reilly. I had seen him in True West and Magnolia and thought I just have to say something. So I grabbed a meringue and ran up to him and said 'Just want you to know that I love your work, and I want you to have one of the best meringues in the world - and he actually ate it.' That's strange because I heard that John actually had it stuffed and hung on the wall.

There is a big difference between Jake and us, of course. When Jake admires an actor, he gets the opportunity to work with them - and party and meet their friends.

Hey Zodiac! Very beautiful - it's all boding so well for the vision of PoP. Can't wait to see Jake in it, running along those walls and swinging across chasms and battling monsters while leading armies :D Yes, please!

Hey y'all.

Apparently Massachusetts gives good percs for film people - a friend worked yesterday as extra in a Mel Gibson film, as a "pedestrian" haha!
in Northhampton - she said it was a hoot, free lunch, after the union people got theirs, and she enjoyed the gossip of rolling stone extras some of whom make a decent living and so get benefits etcetc; they say nobody's getting work in LA, but MA gives good percs.

Maybe instead of standing on a bread line. . . . (just planning my hobo future)

Hi Pia! With all these films being shot out of LA now maybe there is a career in it, following the films around. I know a lot are shot round here. You can barely walk round Oxford without running into a filmset and a table of coffees and teas for the actors. Causes havoc with the roads...

"OMG, Jake!" <<< that's what I think when I look at the Prince close-up. Is it just me that unfamiliar with the game, isn't it?

Good night, wet dark!

I hope that his mother has not been upset by losing his meringue for the Johnn! rsrsrsrsrsrs

Here in my forum a majority of members want the act Jake once again with Jen.
They love the movie Good Girl, mainly by bringing one of the best chemical screens.
Unfortunately the producers do not appreciate that. But I still hope to see Jake working once again with Jen.

There is a forum on orkut named Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal.

This video game clip is really beautiful, graceful and romantic! The music is lovely. I love when the Prince catches Tamina's arm and carries her. Sorry if my impressions sound less video game and more Capulet's courtyard, I hope some of this will carry over to the film. I do think there will be something for everyone with this movie. Stunning, you are right, WDW! :)

Good morning everyone! Friday!

Hi there Nezuko! It's not just you - The new game Prince really reminds me of Jake too. I can see why they cast him.

Morning Monica :D I love the thought of Jake running down the street chasing people with a meringue. He can do that with me anytime. I would love to see Jake work with Jen again, I just love her and they are great together.

Hi there Anon :D The music's good, isn't it. The whole thing is extremely atmospheric. I'm enjoying the parallels between the game and the movie.

Have a great day everyone!

Hey WDW and everyone.:)

I agree Zodiac, Jake is gonna be stunning in PoP and everybody's gonna fall for Dastan. That's why they cast him, because they knew Jake has the potential to make people fall crazy in love with him. :)

And WDW, you know damn well what a mess I'm inclined to be reduced to each time Jake is on my way, right? ;)

Have agreat day!

Hi Xenia! Jake has that effect on me too :D It's a definite hazard of being a Jakefan but what a hazard... :P Hope you had a good day. I've had a toughie today :(

I think Prince of Persia has a mysterious, legendary quality about him. Maybe I should add elusive.

I saw "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" this evening. Very, very silly and goofy, and a lot of fun. I have a hard time believing that Disney made both films!
