Maggie Gyllenhaal on the NYC Red Carpet - with Natalie

Today has been a day for discussing the roles we would like to see Jake Gyllenhaal take on - meanwhile sister Maggie (just saying that makes me think of contemporary dance moves reenacted for us by Jake in a recent Conan O'Brian interview) has been showcasing her new film, Paris Je T'aime.

Last night was the New York City premiere of Paris Je T'aime and it provided a photo opportunity for Maggie and longtime Gyllenhaal family friend, Natalie Portman.

Maggie and Natalie both star in this collection of 18 short stories, each one about a different set of people in a different part of Paris. Maggie's short, Quartier Des Enfants Rouges, follows an American actress shooting a film on location in the city. The cast of Paris Je T'aime is Galactic indeed. For more information, visit the film's official website. Obviously, it is unlikely that many of us will be able to see this film to review it, at least for a long time, so here is a review by someone more fortunate.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's films, wih the odd exception (such as World Trade Center), receive too little attention outside the United States - Sherrybaby being an obvious example. It's unlikely that this film will fare any differently. So Europe must wait for Batman.

Oh Yay! for Maggie - Paris Je T'aime sounds very *sigh*-worthy. That's a beautiful pic of her and Natalie. Love the pic of Heath too, and looking forward to seeing him as the Joker in Batman. :)

Hi Anon! I have to admit that I do find films such as Paris Je T'aime a little bit daunting. As the review says, if you have 18 short stories, it's unlikely that all are going to be good and it's very likely that some will get lost.

It's good to see Maggie though - and Natalie. Very glamorous and elegant ladies both. CAN'T WAIT for Maggie and Heath in Batman! That is going to be a treat :D

I, too, love Maggie! I have a terrific younger brother, myself, and I appreciate the apparent wonderful relationship Maggie and Jake have.

I'd really like to see Jake and Natalie do a film together -- don't care what kind. She is quite talented, too, and lovely to boot!
