Jake Gyllenhaal out for a stroll in New York City, 11 June 2007

It never rains but it pours... New photos of Jake walking through the streets of New York City - with phone attached. Apparently, he was 'hiding' a book he was reading behind his back. These were taken just today (as always, click on them and they will be much bigger). I reckon we'll be seeing more of Jake - please!

There are other posts from today, so look below for pictures of Jake with his fans in NYC.

More pictures at IHJ.

You are busy today.....-))

He looks great and everything - but I really want to know why is he hiding a book?? Makes no sense.
Only one logical reason: A script or a book that is made into a film and Jake is in talks for a role (or is it my wishful thinking??)

And congrats to Maggie - she is a wonderful actress- I will see "Dark Knight" only because of her....

Hi Carla! I'm too busy but it's for Jake and so I'm happy :D

As for the book thing, is he really hiding a book? He could be just carrying a book, not hiding anything. But it would be wonderful if Jake were hiding a potential future project, meaning he's thinking about a new role, just wonderful.

I can't wait to see Maggie in The Dark Knight and I'm sure Jake's looking forward to it too!

Thanks for comemnting, Carla :D

Thanks for posting...Love Jakey's short hair..but really hate the scruffy whiskers...:-) It looks like his legs are hairy again too...perhaps he is not going to be cycling whilst in the Big Apple...
Your site is the best!!

Hey Michele - Thanks for the comment!

I have to say I like the hair - on Jakes legs and on his head and chin - but when he shaves it and turns up at an event all groomed, shaved and perfectly turned out, my heart melts every time :)

It's sort of like a family project. Maggie, Jake's sister and Heath, who will forvever be connected to Jake working together in THE DARK KNIGHT. I was very impressed with BATMAN BEGINS and the the new take on the franchise. Christian Bale is excellent. I am so happy Maggie will be an added bonus in the sequel. But I am most eagerly looking forward to seeing what Heath will do with THE JOKER!

There was a rumor once that Jake was going to star in one of the sequels as the DA, Harvey "Two Face" Dent. I remember at the time being horrified that Jake's beautiful face would be marred in any way. I guess it was just a rumor. But it might have been good!

Sorry, I meant to post this on the story about Maggie and BATMAN!

I just adore his style..... dressed up or down, he always looks "at home" in his clothes.

My personal favorite fashion critique of Jake is from last year's "Esquire" mag's annual best dressed issue (he was #4):

"With his rumpled, comfortable style, Gyllenhaal has a classic all-American look that says he's moneyed and proper but not above occasionally sleeping in his clothes. That's not to say you can't dress him up. The man can pull off a tux better than George Clooney."

Amen.

I love natural Jake too - complete with facial hair, and body and leg hair, and those gorgeous brows of his. Tweezers, razors, waxing, etc. he never needs to consider IMO. He's way too beautiful as is for all that. My personal taste is for a man to have hair, and Jake has just the right amount. I know others have different tastes. Lots of great pics today too!

I love his hairstyle any style, but when it's a teensy bit longer, it is luxuriant, and sets off that beautiful hairline of his so well. Of course, I love when he's all impeccably groomed too, but there's something about a natural, real man on his off time that's sexy. I thought he looked beautiful at LAX airport and at the Rufus Wainwright concert. :)

I agree Birdie, Amen to that! ;)

Oh Marina, I totally agree with you. I think Jake is at his sexiest when he is simply being real life Jake. Those NYC basketball pics from last summer (blue sleeveless t-shirt) almost did me in. : )

Hi Dani! - Thanks so much for your comment - don't worry about which post it's on - it's all Jake!

I'm looking forward to seeing what Heath does with this too - I wonder what he'll do with the role?

I wasn't that keen on the Harvey Two Face thing myself - call me shallow, but I do like to look at Jake's beautiful face.

Hi Birdie and Marina - I wish I'd be up to join this conversation!

I just can't make up my mind which Jake I prefer - the 'natural' Jake with the facial scruff and the rumpled clothes or the sophisticated movie star in a spectacular suit. I loved the Rendition hair and I like it from the photos yesterday. Jake throws me into confusion because he looks just wonderful whichever way.

I really like his style too -whether dressed up or down. Noone wears a t-shirt and jeans like Jake and noone wears a suit and tie like Jake. Oh, I like the eyebrows too, Marina.

Clearly one of those Gushing Over Jake days... best not to fight it ;D

"As for the book thing, is he really hiding a book? "

A girl over at IHJ had an encounter with him and (quote) "it was a script in his back pocket, i cud tell, and he lifted up his shirt a little to put it in his back pocket i saw it was a thick yellowish covered script and i saw BOXERS"

So hopefully we will get some good news soon....

No matter what he´s wearing - casual with scruffy hair and beard or dressed up with a Tux - he always looks adorable.
I have never seen a young man who is so comfortable with himself than Jake. I agree with Birdie - he always looks "at home" in his clothes.

Hi Carla

That's very interesting about the script - hmmmmm. That would be so great if Jake were about to take on a new project (or maybe he has already?).

Thanks for commenting :D

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! AS ALWAYS THANKS!

Script or book I always love to know what Jake is reading. And I just love it that he reads books *Swoon* makes him seem sophsticated and intelligent!

I hope it's a script for a new project but I dont wanna get too excited. I remember last summer there were lots of pics of him with a director (a famous actress' husband, sorry dont remember who) in NYC and as far as we know that never came to anything (yet?!).

But fingers crossed for more great work from Jake to be announced soon!

Thanks for the pics.

Hi Anon! - Thanks so much for that. I'm really glad you like the site :D

Hey LJF - It is great knowing what a reader Jake is. What with scripts, books (I believe Jake is a big fan of non-fiction) and current affairs, Jake's mind must be like a sponge, soaking it all up.

I think the person you're thinking of from last summer is the husband of Julianne Moore - Bart Freundlich.

Thanks for the comment :D

I'm so happy that Jake may be reading a new script and may be considering a new project! That's one of the things that makes him so sexy, his mind. Well, along with everything else I gushed about earlier! ;) I love his intelligence, how he thinks and that he's well read. It's the inner qualities that make a man, his creativity, intelligence, sensitivity, compassion, and not just his beauty. I guess it's my day to gush about Jake too WDW, sorry Jake! :)

Hi Marina! - as for the gushing - you and me both. I think there are days when we should just give in to it ;D At least we're taking about Jake's brain as well!

I was lying low, WDW, but these pictures were too pretty to ignore :)

Hey Anouska - glad you've come out of the undergrowth again. I knew these would entice you out of hiding ;D
