The pictures below were taken at TIFF at Brokeback Mountain's premiere, and also allow me to indulge my 'thing' about Jake and phones. This is a relatively new interest, triggered by my recent upgrade to a phone I don't know how to use. I wonder if Jake reads the manuals for all these phones of his?
It therefore seems wonderful timing that IHeartJake has put up those Morocco photos, taken on the set of Rendition in March this year, without the ugly tags and much bigger. Now we can get a better look at Rendition Jake, and why not compare his hair here (BAFTA hair) with the aerodynamic cut of the recent Chilmark Road race? I noticed that in one of the pictures, not only has Jake a lady to carry his jacket for him, it also looks like he has a man to carry his gun. Should either of these jobs become vacant...
Rendition is also featured in this week's Entertainment Weekly with Reese on the cover and, although there's little mention of Jake, there is a new picture:
Sporty Jake
Talking of the Chilmark Road Race - a video has become available direct from the Vineyard - click here to watch it. I have to say that it seems a strange case of journalism or press, that the reporter in the video makes not a single mention of the movie star right in front of the camera. I know stars aren't troubled by paparazzi or the media on MV but this attempt to leave a star in peace seems a little determined.
There are other new/old pictures of Jake, including some from one of my favourite Jake events of the last year - the Ride for Roses in Texas, in which Jake and Lance Armstrong participated, led even, in October 2006. Again, the tags are now gone, allowing us the happy, unfettered view of Spandex Jake.
Further new/old pictures include additional evidence of Jake's sportiness, should it be required. In April 2006, Jake was seen skateboarding around NYC accompanied by Maggie. As Maggie was pregnant at the time, Jake carefully held the skateboard still for her just so she could still play with her brother. I'm not sure entirely why, but the bottom photo just fascinates me.

I love sporty!Jake. I haven't given up all hope yet that we might see new surfing pictures this year. I've been good, I deserve it.
Hi Cherita - good to see you! I just can't ut my finger on it - it's like Jake is et in this world with it all going on around him and I can't work out what that guy's up to. I love photos like this. It's like those pictures of Jake at LAX.
Oh how I love Sporty Jake. I think we're due more surfing pics ;) I've been good too, c'mon Jake get on that board.

I dont know about new surfing pictures: Vineyard isn't great for surf but there's a great surfing beach on Nantucket.

Ahhh but it is, it is! Up Island toward the end of the season when the Gulf storms kick into gear it brings great surfing waves to the south beaches on the Island. :-)
OMG WDW!! Spandex Jake is just too freakin' hot for words!! Thanks so very much for posting these yummy pics of our lovely Jake..those thighs those thighs!! AND....I am still loving the shortish hair..but those damn whiskers have got to go!! Michele

I don't know what whets the appetite more while waiting for a film to open - pictures leaked from the set constantly or hardly at all. In Rendition's case they have been few and far between. So anything we have been fortunate enough to see is like a tall glass of water on a hot day. Even these pictures we have seen before are a thrill because now nothing comes between us and Jake! You know what I mean.
I do miss Sporty Jake of last summer. All that dreamy spandex certainly gave me a new appreciation for the material. Still, I am glad that Jake has had a nice relaxing almost pap free summer. Reminds me of when I was a kid and didn't have a care in the world just long summer days ahead that seemed endless...

Rendition is gonna be an "exciting" movie for more than one reason...Jake is really GORGEOUS in it, I have to say it!

Hi Dani - these original pics were among my favourites and so I'm delighted that now we have them bigger and better. Just makes me want this film more than ever. I miss last year's Sporty Jake too. It was so good seeing all those cycling shots. But you're right, Jake's got away from it all this summer and that's for sure.
Hey Xenia - you could well be right about that photo - it is like a natural scene, a glimpse of real ife on a NYC street and there's this gorgeous guy in blue, walking don it just like everyone else. I love pictures like that.
Seeing that man in the black shirt chasing after Jake on skateboard brought back a few memories.Last November, I was visiting my daughters for Thanksgiving in NYC. It was mid-week, they were at work & I found myself wandering in the West Village and SoHo late one morning.(Honestly, I was NOT looking for Jake! LOL!)I guess there were a couple of random celebs, like Sarah Jessica, etc shopping around and suddenly I was almost run over, literally trampled, by paps. I am not kidding. I was walking along, blissfully ignorant of what was going on in the block ahead, and these three men aged about 45-50-ish, dressed very shabby, except for a necklace of cameras,came flying around the corner, ignoring traffic, racing across the streets and down the block. One of them had a hands free earphone and was yelling into it, "Where? Where? OK! OK!" Then a string of expletives. They all had this wild,desperate, really scarey look in their eyes, like true predators. You had to get out of their way or they would literally smush you! It was fascinating to see this and it made me realize what it must be like to be their "prey." Very ugly profession.Takes a "special" kind of person to do that.
Thanks for the great reproductions of the Rendition photos. They were the first ones I saw and were a great whistle-wetter (the trailer had me foaming at the mouth!), but they are so much bigger,clearer and free from logos here!
I have to admit to a little collection of Jake in spandex photos, ranging from the full-on gorgeous to the endearingly funny, as some of his cycling get-ups have been a bit bizaare.
One of my favourites from last year was Jake sitting front and centre of the Livestrong team flashing that knock-em-dead, megawatt smile.
I've missed having such a plethora of juicy photos this year, while still being glad he's managed a break from the glare of publicity
