While we wait to see Jake Gyllenhaal in full Persian regalia, this evening I thought I would take a snapshot look at some of the other costumes that Jake has worn in his career going back almost ten years. This is also prompted by the news today that the man who camed up with the iconic popper Rockmount cowboy shirts worn and treasured by Jack and Ennis died this week at the grand old age of 107.

Another glimpse of Jake's Moroccan experience thanks to a poster on Flickr - this stunning town was once used for Gladiator and is now in use for Prince of Persia, giving Prince Dastan some context.

Hey, y'all!
Wow we're really into retrospectives! Lov'd the sky retro, WDW, and this one, too. As usual you sure can pick the pics.
Where exactly is this "city" in the flickr photo? Its stunning. Do we know for sure it's being used in PoP?
Hope everybody's fish is jumpin', this mid-August weekend.
Hi Pia! Having a great time this evening being wined and dined :D This post has been on the list for a while and I do enjoy picking the pics for posts like these.
I'm not certain where the pictrue was taken, it doesn't say with the photo, although it looks like the same hillside fortified town we saw pics of some days ago. As for it being used in PoP, I was going by the caption which says it is.
So glad it's the weekend and happy birthday to my lil sis :D
heh, you missed the young cowboy in City Slickers! :)
Just watched TDK (again) tonight..
Loved seeing the name Gyllenhaal alongside Ledger...
Thanks for the lovely yummy gallery :) I'd take the Rodeo, please.
Morning Winterbird! Oh yes, little cowboy Jake with the popping shoulder :D
If you have the Rodeo, I'll have to take the CIA analyst - but only when he's having a better day and has a new job.
Have a good Saturday everyone :)
Mornin' y'all! Again, a nice post, WDW.
I was so sorry to hear about Papa Jack Weil passing away, he of the Rockmount snap-buttoned cowboy shirts - love them, is there anything sexier, really, especially on our Jack Twist? Maybe a tuxedo. ;)
Well, since Jack Twist and Douglas Freeman are taken, and, judging by the recent pics, it looks like someone has dibs on Dastan already, I'll take Robert Greysmith. He needed some love, and I'm the only one who can understand him, I bet! The city for Pop is really beautiful.
Have a great day, all. ;)
o dear WDW some of us (well Beckela and myself, to be honest)concluded that Douglas Freeman was an alcoholic and that there was no happy ending for him in view.
this being part of the ironies of the story, actually
I guess I really don't understand this game, since I just wanna kiss him, I wouldnt choose to hook up with any of these characters. Ive got enuff challenges in my life, as is. :D :D :D
hi there - on a bus so texting - badly. Back home soon.
Hi anon! I may have to fight you for Robert. Do love him :-) thanks for commenting!
Hey Pia :D I like to think it all worked out for Doug in the end, once he'd made a decision. But I'm an optimist here maybe. Kissing Jake is a lovely thought...
Hope everyone is having a great day :-)
Is that a real city of only a movie set? Do they keep these and just recycly them? Gladiator was done a very long time ago. This city also reminds of one in the Orlando Bloom movie. and it also looks a little like the city of Troy. I am also reminded of Babel.
Hi WDW, thanks for a cute entry. And I flicked over to the SKY feature-thingie-thing with the 43 pix and was mightily amazingly amused and enchanted and I need some time now (and isn't picture 22 totally without the presence of the Gyllenhaal?) so thank you for that heads-up too! I've been a stranger but didn't mean to. So here's some hugs from me. *hugs*

Phew, back home :D
Hi Anon! Yes, this is a real city but it looks familiar to me too. I was wondering from which film (apart from Gladiator) and you've reminded me, Troy. I suppose the place must be geared up for Hollywood's invasion - misy help the local economy. I've not seen the Bloom movie.
Elfie - great to see you! Ahh, yes the odd one out from Sky's 43 Jakes :D I'm still sticking with 34 myself. I am so glad to see you - a big hug back to you x
With his smoldering good looks, Doug Freeman could become a Hollywood actor. As for his being an alcoholic, I don't know what the warning signs are. But I do know that some famous Hollywood actors have reported to work drunk, and their careers somehow survived.
If America won't have Doug, there's always Canada.
hi, i'm the author of the photo. someone told me it was here and i just wanted to say hi.
Hi Sito! Thanks so much for popping by - it's such a great picture :D Did you see anything of the set while you were there? What was it like? Sorry for all the questions, but we're clearly very interested in everything we can learn about the Prince of Persia set and what it's like round there! And thanks for taking the photo!
