Jake Gyllenhaal out with Deacon and Reese, 24 October

I'm always a puddle on the floor whenever I see Jake with kids. I think I'm going to burst into little pieces when I see him with his own child.

Hi Zodiac! And I like Deacon's top only slightly less than I love Jake's.... that's about as maternal as I get, I'm afraid :P, but I do think Deacon is a cutie - and Jake's not bad either...
Where is the day going? If it weren't for my cough, I'd say it's been a very pleasant way to pass a day, lying around while it rins outside and having some company here, and new pics of Jake to boot!
Clocks go back tonight - bad :( Does anyone know when they go back in the US?
Looking at the close ups, Reese and Jake look upset, and so does Deacon. I think they are unhappy with the photographers! It seems like Jake is being tracked every day, the 22nd at Heathrow,
the 23rd jogging with Reese and friends, now these from 24th with Deacon.
I think the adults are fair game, but the children get frightened. I know. I love seeing pictures of Jake with kids, but only if they are taken from afar and they aren't aware of it. I don't like it when they are stalked and harrassed.
Hi anon - thanks for commenting :D I don't think they look happy either. Fortunately, I do think that much of the time they're able to get away from the cameras (Jake has proved himself a master of that!). Not so good with kids, especially little ones.
But when Jake and Reese are out and about, people are bound to be interested - they're just so famous. I do agree that to some extent adult actors are fair game and I would have thought they'd accept this. Jake has said that repeatedly and he's always acted very professionally and admirably.
It's difficult because I love so much to see pictures of Jake and he is too good at avoiding the cameras. Thanks for commenting :)
I agree it is not cool to pap kids. I always feel bad but can't help but swoon at how good with kids Jake seems to be. I feel the same about pics of Maggie and/or Peter with Ramona or Michelle with Matilda.
Jake and Deacon are adorable. I hope they weren't too upset and that they aren't bothered to much.
Hi Get Real :D I know, it's so difficult. I can't help but love seeing pictures of Ramona and Matilda - and I adore them. I also can't help but hope for a photo some time of Jake with Ramona :) I hope Deacon wasn't bothered too much.
I'm totally with you, WDW. I am also hoping a lot for a pic of Jake and Ramona.
I think there should be a line drawn at taking pics of celeb kids. Something should be done. I can only hope that Halloween for Eva and Deacon does NOT turn into the media circus it did last year. I felt very bad for those kids. It's not their fault that their mother is famous and her and Jake are the Paps fave target these days.
They were in a drought for months, only getting a few photos since before July. SO they are after Jake with a vengeance now
And it's unfortunate the kids are caught in the middle.
I only hope that Jake hasn't forgotten about his niece. I know Maggie is in NY I was hoping he would have stopped there on his way back from London to see Ramona. And I doubt he's seen Matilda at all either.

Hi Trekfan! I suppose it's inevitable that Jake's been away so long, people are keen for pictures. And I won't lie - me too. Jake will be back filming soon enough and I love to see him all I can. Very few feature Jake with Reese's children, mostly it's the adults. And I think that's fair enough. But yeah, I really do not want to se a repeat of last year's Halloween.
I doubt very much that Jake's forgotten his niece - far from it. Neices have a habit of grabbing hold of your heart and not letting go :D

Ava and Deacon are stressed and unhappy whenever their family is being hounded by paps, but I do think Reese has explained things to them, esp Ava, she looks like a serious 9-year-old girl:) It's stressful, but I think that, by now, the kids know that paps are physically harmless, they just keep shouting and scaring people but all you have to do is to ignore them, cling to mommy, daddy or Jakey and you'll be fine.
Last year Halloween videos were awful, though. I remember Reese saying :"Please, you're scaring the children" and some idiot saying "It's Halloween , they're suppossed to be scared." Sigh...

hey Zodiac :D Ava looks like a sensible child to me. But those Halloween vids were horrible (plus I'm not sure Jake looks at his best in a gorilla suit to be honst...). Ramble away - I love to listen to you :D (I need someone to make me some toast...)
I have the TV on and Brokeback Mountain just came on (I don't think it's a good film to watch all the way through with a bad cold but I'll just pop up the mountain :D)

Well...wow, these pics of Jake and Deacon are really something! I still find it hard to get used to Jake "being dad" even though I know he'll be dad one day and he'll be a great one, but ...I have to admit it...awww Deacon's little hand in Jake's big one is just so cute! :-)

Ah Jake's a great man, will be a great dad and moreover he's a great artist, so much greatness just for one woman is not fair :P Reese's a lucky girl :-/ :)
I hate to have to point this out, but Matilda has a mother. Her mother decides who sees her and spends time with her. So I guess it depends on Jake's relationship with Michelle whether he spends any time with Matilda.
I also saw Maggie's conments about Heath and Michelle being neighbors as well as friends, and how awful the media was when Heath died. I can't imagine Maggie being good friends with people who didn't get along with her brother. All these people have known each other for at least four years.
I think a lot of people assume a lot of things. I think if Jake is seeing Matilda at all, we might never know. Just as we really don't know that much about Michelle and who her friends are or who Matilda's playmates are.
People were very surprised when Tom Cruise arranged the L.A. memorial service for Heath. Tom handled everything. Katie and Michelle remained friendly, but most of all Tom knew Heath thru Naomi Watts, and from being married to Nicole.
We really don't know a lot of stuff, but it doesn't stop people from jumping to conclusions. I think Jake does what he can, and I think Jake is a very loving, kind person. Just because we don't see things doesn't mean anything.
Hi Anon - thanks for the comment :) I have always believed that we can have no idea of what goes on away from the cameras and the press. This also means, as you say, that people are always going to make assumptions of every kind. I wouldn't be interested in Jake if I thought he were the kind of person not to care. I think he is the type to care, and deeply, and so we shouldn't need pictures to prove it. But it's such an emotive issue due to the circumstances.
Incidentally, I've found Tom Cruise's role in Hollywood over recent years absolutely fascinating and I've also been surprised and heartened.
