Out for a run - Jake and Reese 23 October

Well, I was hoping for some new pictures this weekend and here we are already! Here are Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon out for a run on Thursday. And we have hair! So what do we think of the headband? I'll have ten! Loving the t-shirt, by the way.

Thanks to Trekfan for a link to the video clip.

He's looking quite exotic, especially around the eyes - and well rested. He's going to make a handsome Prince. His hair is so nice and full and I love his hairline, I'd love to see it in a ponytail. Nice to see him again. And his body looks good - not overly built, but nice. :)

Hi there anon! Oh, I think Jake looks marvellous here - you're right about the hairline. I never thought I'd like the long hair but now I find I do. It'd be good to see it in a ponytail (and I never thought I'd say that!). And I agree about the body shape too. In fact, Jake will do very nicely :D

I dunno...

I don't like it at all...Not the hair, not the body, I can't wait to get rid of Prince of Persia.

Jake has a beautiful clean face, and fantastic hair line built to be short (and trust me, I love long hair for men).
This look makes him a little too dirty; bothers me. I can't find Jake behind this prince and I want the old Jake back. Seriously.

I hate the hair I want to take a pair of scissors to it AND I want him to get rid of the beard

^^Somehow, I have the feeling that once filming is over, he will too! ;)

I don't like the headband but otherwise I think he looks great.

I know everyone has their own opinion but I don't get why people get so upset when Jake changes his look for a movie? Like he is not himself because he is doing his job.

There are plenty of looks of Robert Downey Jr, Heath, Peter, Maggie and a whole list of actors that I have not loved but I accept because they are actors.

I am glad Jake can change his looks because that is what makes him a great actor. It won't be forever and it probably looks right in the context of the movie.

well I suppose the ancient Persians really were kinda smelly and dirty -

(watching a great documentary about Italian movies by Scorcese. . . )

Hey Pia. Lol, yes I bet ancient Persians were smelly and dirty.

I think I have seen that Doc you are watching. Love Scorcese. I am watching Rachel Maddow and Keith O. rail it up fabulously on the political craziness on MSNBC. Love them.

Hi, Get Real!

Rachel Maddow lives in Western Massachusetts! I used to live in Cummington, she lives in West Cummington - the reason she has no TV (as she has said in interviews) is because there is little or no TV reception, hahaha - we all consider ourselves noble but those who know the truth laugh at us and our pretensions.

But I watch these programs on line.

Maddow is great! I watch Jon Stewart on line every morning. Keeps me sane. GOP stuff gets more bizarre every day.

Good morning everyone! I'm afraid to say I'm wrapped up in bed with a stinking cold today :( The upside is you'll be glad to hear I've completely lost my voice... Hot toddies all round.

Morning Zodiac :D

Thanks very much for the comment, Monica :) It's very difficult adjusting to Jake as the Prince and I wonder how he's finding it. I do like the hair but I won't complain when it comes off. Maybe I've been watching too many 2004 videos of Jake lately.

Hi Trekfan! Thanks so much for the video link - I've added it to the post. I think Jake could be a little difficult to keep up with...

Morning Get Real and Pia! Sorry I missed your chat. I do agree with you, Get Real. Actors have to adapt their bodies to roles, just look at Matt Damon. I reckon I'm in the minority with the headband though - I like it.

But medieval Persians (the rich ones) loved their perfumes, scented baths, spices and gardens :D

Enjoying the local political talk!

Have a great Saturday everyone :)

2004 was Jake's prettiest year IMO and I can't wait to see his face and hair properly again either :) Is this really going to be a trilogy? I think people get upset about the look because summer's lease hath all too short a date to quote our Bard and Jake will have years and years ahead of him to look beardy and ordinary. But I've always said this :) Nice that you allow differences of opinion about this WDW, and hope you have an OK day even with a bad cold (I am nursing hubby through one at the moment).

I have forgotten how to do paragraphs. Need more tea.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

(((Nouskie))) Sorry to hear your hubby's unwell. I'm being waited upon to, very nice (although I don't think I could drink another drop of tea...)

Jake's a beautiful man and we all have our own view of how Jake is at his most beautiful. He always interests and surprises me with the way he looks, even if there are bits I don't get. I even got to be quite fond of the Brothers beard! And I feel like that about the hair now - and I've always liked Jake when he's bigger.

One reason why I like these jogging pics is we get to see Jake with the sunglasses and I always love Jake's eyes and his smile.

I'm sure we shouldn't get too hung up over the way Jake looks but when you look THAT amazing, it's inevitable! And we haven't heard Jake speak for quite some time. I do like to talk about Jake, and Jake in sunshine is always a nice sight. End of summertime tonight :(

Enjoy your cuppa *)

I am nursing my own migraine with some caffeine *g*

Hope you're doing better, WDW! (and Anouska's hubby!)

I am not totally "hearting" the hair-band (too Italian footie-like! even though they are usually good looking *g*), but the yellow tee certainly looks good on him...

Although I am still counting the days where he'll be back to his clean-shaven glory :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

(((Winterbird))) - I'm in a hugging mood as it sounds like we're all falling to bits! (well, me.) Hope your migraine clears up very soon. I have a horrible cough and I can't move my neck. Looking at Jake makes me feel better. And I have another good movie to watch tonight - Another Country with Colin Firth and Rupert Everett (I've been raiding Amazon's modern classics section).

I love the yellow shirt on Jake! Not many people can wear bright yellow but Jake really can. I'm a big supprter of LiveStrong so I'm glad to see the shirt. There is something to be said for Italian footie-players :D

Have a good day and feel better *)

(((WDW))), (((Anousks's hubby))) and (((Winterbird))). Here's hoping you and/or your loved ones get better soon! I have had a big setback myself this week with my health (I have a blood disorder) and it's been pretty scary but I am trying to stay positive and relax. Coming here and Jaking with you all sure helps! :)

It's great that we all have differing opinions on Jake's look and can talk about it respectfully here. :) My fave Jake look is the short hair and face scruff.

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Ooh Get Real, I'm so sorry to hear that! I do hope you feel much better now (((Get Real))) - It is so nice to have you all around today on this wet and sickie day - it's horrible out there - but lovely in here :D I need Jake to rustle up some home made veggie soup for me. We could all share it :)

Oh yes, the facial scruff. I forgot to mention that I love the length of it in these photos and I also like how neatly it's trimmed.

I need some icecream...

Thanks (((WDW))). Hope you feel better. :)

Like so many of you,I am hopeful that Jake will indeed ditch "The Beard" once he doesn't have to justify his image and life choices to Disney any more.;-)

Hate to say this but I think he looked as rough as a bear's arse in the airport photos and he looks a bit of a scutter in these jogging shots too.:-( I had hoped we'd see him catching up with the dog once he got home - sadly it's not Atticus he's out for a run with. Ah well, patience is a virtue....

Hugs and Olbas oil to all with a cold and good health to anyone who is in any way poorly xxx

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Thanks Get Real, I do a bit (possibly something to eating an entire bar of chocolate in one go) *)

Hi Running :) personally, I don't get the looking rough thing, but I would love to get new pics with Atticus soon, really would. Thanks for the Olbas oil and hug, much appreciated :D

Love to all the sickie chickies! WDW Im not crazy about your ice cream theory of healing: mama Pia says: Vitamin C and Vitamin J and bunny slippers.

In my view, male beauty hits its peak at 26 and then gently descends into the more ordinary. So I do especially mourn because as Anouska quoted our sweet Willy S. summer's lease has all too short a date and all that fuzz plus extra musculature makes me long for yesterday -

One of my favorite BBMt scenes is Jack burying his nose in Ennis' hair in the motel scene, and Ennis always apparently so sweet and clean, washing behind his ears, sniffing at his shirt before his date with Jack - Im not tempted to bury my nose in the ragmop our guy's carrying now.

Actors and their changes? DDLewis getting all skinny for when he played a dying man?

Sorry to ramble on. Im procrastinating getting to work today. Thank y'all for the good company and chat!

Si, se puede! Obama '08 ! !

Ugh - my comment just ate itself :(
Where as I...?

Hi there Pia! When you have a sore throat and a bad cough, vanilla icecream just does the trick. Mr WDW went to the market this morning to get me some seasonal local fruit and he came back with a big back of figs... ahem.

Ah, when it comes to male beauty, I tend to prefer men in their 30s and 40s, who have grown into their bodies and have that confidence and power. I don't like it when Jake covers up his face so much, but I have few complaints about his body these days. I like a smile on his face though - very important.

Thanks for your company too and have a good day :D

Hey Get Real...
I admire Jake so much for changing according to the needs of his character. It is his job. But I was talking about the way I feel JAKE and not the Prince.I can't find Jake there and it bothers me and I see pictures of his daily life. Maybe it bothers him as well.
As for the film...the prince is the prince, and he must look like the prince. Period.

Hi Monica :D Thanks for expressing how you feel. These are strange days/weeks and I feel one thing one minute and another the next. But my love endures...

I wonder what will happen when Jake's doing the Moon project or the Namath film. It will be interesting to see the change. Part of the difficulty - for me - is that Jake hasn't spoken to us for a year now, and so we are left with reconstructing from photos which can be misleading to varying degrees.

With my dispassionate head on, I'm fascinated with it all, while my heart enjoys the photos with a smile.

I have a fever and so I'm talking to much :D Thanks for commenting.

I have really enjoyed this thread of comments.

Hey Monica!

I understand what you are saying. Believe me I do understand your point. This not a preferred Jake look for me either. And I think from the pics outside of filming that this is not a preferred look for Jake either. :p

Hey Get Real - I definitely agree that Jake will be more than ready to cut this hair off and get back to normal gorgeousness :D
