The Prince of Persia set at Pinewood appears to be immense as we can see in this enjoyable account of a visit to Pinewood by a bunch of Quantum of Solace fans. They were allowed to see very little of the set, with the exception of a fake palm tree, presumably one of many.
The more unhappy 'news' from the set is that Jake may have cut himself with a prop key. But, if the account is true, it sounds as if Jake was more shocked than injured and, hopefully, is feeling much, much better now and less inclined to play with sharp props.
Incidentally, according to IMDb's long list of crew for Prince of Persia, Jake's stunt double and parkour double is named as Mark Fichera. And by the look of the list, few films released in 2010 will be quite so armour-heavy, or quite so hot.
Cosmo's choice
In its November issue, Cosmopolitan will publish its list of the World's Sexiest Men. In the top 25, there are few youngsters with voters favouring more seasoned chaps, but Jake proves the exception and he is placed at no 3 (behind Johnny Depp and George Clooney). Even though Jake has said he places little store in such polls, it's good to see that Jake is there in the minds of Cosmo's readers. (although how all of Take That got a place does make me worry a little...)

Thanks for new news WDW as ever. Ben looks so convincing as the evil visor - he definitely will bring a great amount of credibility to this amazing film (the trailers are keeping me all excited).

Now Cosmopolitan has been the 'sex encyclopedia' for many women.. and men for that matter so they know what they're talking about. Jake at number 3? I'll take that. The youngest of all 25 and he's up there with the big guns. Was that the UK version of Cosmo or was it the international version? If so, there were an awful lot of Brits in there.

I think those actors who are in the top part of the list don't even try to be sexy, they just are because of who they are. That's rare. I think if they tried to act all sexy they'd look like complete dorks so to exude that sexiness without even trying is terrific (I didn't use the word amazing or Jazz Hands ;D ).
What a nice surprise when I checked in this morning! Sir Ben look wonderful as Nizam, he has become the character. If he's been knighted, that's a huge honor, so I say let him enjoy being called Sir Ben. :)
Yes, Cosmo women appreciate sex and sexy men, so that's a great title for Jake too, Romantic Hero they call him [especially after seeing Dastan carrying Tamina in his arms in the latest video clip - sigh (sorry!)] It's an incredible picture of him, I have no doubt he'll have a great career ahead of him, like George Clooney and Johnny Depp, dark sexiness and longevity like George, & emotive features, like Johnny. The most emotive and touching role I have ever seen Johnny in was Edward Scissorhands.

I hope that Brothers is going to be released in Dec. It would be a shame. We'd be without a Jake movie for a year and half if this happens. I miss seeing him on the talk shows and mag interviews.
I think this has got to be the longest shoot that Jake has ever been on. 5 months He must be exhausted. This is the first time he has been truly the lead character.
I think they only shot BBM for 3 or 4 months in the wilds of Calgary Canada.
And I don't know how long the shoot was for TDAT. The other movies Jake has done seemed to be pretty short shoots. Rendition he was in Morocco and it was reported they were going to be there until May but it seems they were done in a few weeks. Or at least Jake's part was a short shoot.
Well I hope we can all hold on till the summer of 2010.

I forgot to add that my parkour boys didn't need to be told who David Belle was. I said that the founder of parkour was working on the set of PoP and they immediately said:"Oh yeah, David Belle". And then they were, like, "When is this film coming out again? They probably won't get it right." I assured them that they will and after a while they agreed that if David is a part of it they just HAVE to get it right. They also told me that it IS possible to run horizontally on the wall and leap off but only for 5-6 steps, not longer.
Bamboo sheets looked SO incredibly smooth, WDW. I just couldn't help myself:-D

Hi Zodiac :D The link doesn't work for everyone - I don't know if it's to do with browsers or geography. It says that Jake was throwing a key into the air higher and higher and catching it. But the last time he didn't and it cut his left cheek under the eye. It bled a lot but he didn't want to go to the hospital and an on-set nurse patched him up. He was off sick the next day though. Jake's retoucher had trouble covering the mark up when he came back. but it's all one account in a gossipy mag so pinches of salt required (maybe he scratched a finger...).
I like Johnny Depp in most of his films and I think he's quite sexy but he's never been the one for me. I find George more sexy :D

This is a very long shoot for Jake. Zodiac wasn't much shorter but that was around California so it must have been easier. Brokeback was relatively short. I think Jake shot TDAT for three months, most of that in Montreal.

I have always been attracted to Johnny because of the way he expresses himself in his roles, and the roles he chooses, I do find him appealing, but that wasn't why I liked him. I was attracted to George because of his tall, dark and handsome leading man looks, but even more so as time went by, because I found that there's an intelligent, socially aware man under there who makes wonderful films. Jake's looks knock me out totally. I have never found an actor so appealing, but it's nice to know he's an intelligent, socially aware guy underneath also.

Hey Bertie :D I really admire Johnny's choice of roles, so varied and interesting. And even though I'm not a big fan of the Pirates movies, I do love Jack Sparrow :D I think my fave of his was that movie he did with Robbie Coltrane about Jack the Ripper - From Hell - and I also liked Sleepy Hollow.
My liking of George Clooney is all because of ER and Perfect Storm, I'm afraid!

Thank you, Monica, for bringing up Jude Law and Ewan McGregor. Ewan was incredible in "Down with love." If Jude were ten years younger, he would be on the list for sure. Johnny Depp looked very nice in "Finding Neverland." He wasn't supposed to look good when he was a pirate or a libertine or a demon barber. He played Hunter Thompson in one of his movies, and Thompson was not exactly regarded as a sex symbol.

Hi Paul! I do agree about Ewan McGregor. I think he's sexy in pretty much everything he does. I've never liked Jude Law though - not even a little bit... Johnny Depp is one of those rare actors that doesn't have to be conventionally sexy in a role to get an audience, but I do think Johnny was a very sexy pirate :D Finding Neverland was such a good film...
