Jake spotted with Bridget Jones and Jake attempts to 'Train the Dog'

I'm sure I'm not alone in missing Jake Gyllenhaal as he continues to earn a wage on the Pinewood set, but now and again we get a little peek. Last weekend, we were given mental images of Jake lost in Harrods and less lost in Harvey Nicks - this weekend, one sighting puts Jake in a cafe with Renee Zellweger. Perhaps Jake was receiving a lesson on how to perfect that English accent from Bridget Jones herself.

Meanwhile, Jake's dastardly co-star Ben Kingsley has been interviewed (in Swedish)about his roles. And, in the interview he says that his theatrical training has stood him in good stead for his Prince of Persia fights. This is because, I think, of all the rehearsals and practising they're being put through. Fortunately, Ben says he likes playing the baddie - just as well. I've come to the realisation that the Prince of Persia is going to be full of fights, and most of them with Jake in the thick of it - and, hopefully, some of them will take place in water... And mud?

Earlier this year, Jake was doing his bit to promote eyecare. Now, it's Maggie's turn. Maggie has joined Diane Kruger (she who encouraged Jake to sing Night Fever on the Cannes Croisette), Mischa Barton and Billy Idol (who once kissed me on the cheek...) in being photographed by Bryan Adams as ambassadors for the Hear the World awareness campaign. Speaking as someone with poor eyesight and a dud right ear, I am pleased to say that the Gyllenhaals will soon have all my senses covered.

Thanks to IHJ for giving us some new old photographs to enjoy during the drought. Three pictures in particular caught my eye. The first, from 2001, displays extraordinary and tempting hair.

The second two feature Atticus and Jake's serious efforts to 'Train the Dog' - although Atti's attitude towards little white dogs continues to provide Jake with opportunities to charm.

We have regularly considered here ways to attract Jake's attention in a street situation - a solution may be to take possession of a little white dog and chuck it at Atti.

Includes pictures from IHJ.

WDW I forgive you any badness you may commit in the future for the darling picture of Jake baring his teeth.

Chuckle! Hi Pia :D That is such a fave pic of mine - Jake and Atti in perfect harmony. I feel like I should commit some badness now...

That is a cute picture :)

Nice to think of Jake and Renee Zellweger hanging out together. A word on Kiki too as I saw "How to Lose Friends ..." over the weekend and thought she was absolutely great in it.

Hey Nouskie! I love that pic... and lucky Renee :D I'm so glad you enjoyed 'How to Lose Friends...' - I've not been able to see it yet, but I'd love to. Kirsten is a wonderful actress. Interesting that Jake was once considered for the lead in that film. Hope you're good night *)

WOOF WDW. Don't blame me for gettin papped all the time with little white dogs. Its all they got here in BV and HW. Little white perfumed ribboned foofoo lap dogs. Hardly any ruff an tuff dark and handsome ones like me. *whines*

Btw #3 pic shows how lucky Daddy was that day. 1 cookie a trick. What am I some freakin circus act? I was soooo gonna teach him a trick and rip that bag right outta his hand and take a finger with it and run off but the paps were pappin and I gotta look cultured in Star and OK and InTouch and People for all the bitches. Not like a bad mannered feral junkyard dog. Thisclose to doing it. Thats between you and me WDW. Don't tell Daddy ok?

Hey Atti! I still remember seeing that girl with a little white rabbit on a lead at a BH cafe this year :D Good on Jake for getting a 'proper' dog :D

I rather like Simon Pegg. I agree, Kirsten was good in that movie.

This may sound strange, but I would really, really like to meet Atticus. He looks like a fantastic dog. I'm also looking forward to the "Marley and me" movie. I love labs and German shepherds, or couldn't you tell? ;-)

Were Jake and Renee Zellweger really breakfasting together, or was it really their clones? :-)

Hi Paul :D Atticus just looks like the pefect dog for Jake, full of character. I like the idea of Jake's Hollywood breakfast in London :D

Kissed by Billy Idol!??!?! I just gasped out loud! Color me super jealous!!!

Nice to hear about Jake and Renee enjoying a bite together.

Morning everyone - and the sun's come out... :D

Hi there Special! Years ago but I still remember it, during my days campaigning for the Labour Party during the dark Thatcher years. Billy, Paul Weller and Bronski Beat/Communards used to go to all the rallies :D

Lovely to think of Jake and Renee out in London Town :)

Have a good day everyone :D

Bond was good but I liked the first part with Craig better. Gemma didn't have much screen time and I was a little bit disappointed:)

I love Jake with Atticus. Such cuties. Many relationships and even marriages start from people meeting while walking their dogs. Dogs really bring people together. I really think Jake should have taken the dog with him to London but it's none of my business, I guess. Atticus misses him. I swear, every time I see a German shephard I tink of Jake. Someone I know owns a German shephard and sometimes I take her for a walk. Her name is Frog:) I know *rolls eyes*

Jake, London, breakfast- it all sounds good.

Ah, I see, Remembrance Day in Gr Britain is second Sunday in Nov., here it is today: Veterans/Armistice Day - USAan losses nowhere near the terrible numbers in European Countries, esp., I guess GB and Germany and France. "when will we ever learn. . . "

Hate to iconize Atticus but it is tempting - he seems such a loyal and strong-hearted dog!

Dark Knight is at the top of my Netflix list! Good news! I watchedd last night Jim Sheridan's "Boxer" and am reminded that there's gonna be some rough stuff in Brotheres, I keep forgetting about that. So interested in how they're gonna talk up this picture in the spring.

Oh, hi everypeeps!

Atticus is hot. :D

p.s. I mean iconocize. (I think: I'll check it out)

Hi Zodiac :D I would have liked more Gemma time too but otherwise I did enjoy it very much :) I can't imagine having a dog called Frog.... (couldn't imagine a frog called Dog either). Hope you're having a good day!

Morning Pia! Armistice Day is a special day here too but it's a working day and so the services mostly take place on the Sunday, focusing on the Senotaph in London.

When I got home last night Mr WDW was watching My Left Foot - a Sheridan Night :D Not easy going, really... Atticus is hot, Jake is hotter :D

The short answer is that we won't learn. The last surviving U.S. veteran of the war is Frank Woodruff Buckles, who was born in February of 1901. He was 15 when he joined the army. There are only a handful of other veterans of that war still alive. There may be a few that we don't know about, though.

I wonder how many survivors of the Second World War will be on hand for the 90th anniversary of that war's end in 2035? Probably not many.

Whoohoo you love me and I'm hot. RAWR!! I gonna post here more. Gotta be careful of my carpal paw tho. Don't wanna worsen it. London and Morocco hell yeah I wanted to go and smell the sights and pee in different countrys and Daddy wanted me to go but all the countrys have laws say something about being quarinteened in different places for long long times and theres health risks so I didn't. Daddy, come back soon.

Now I'm jealous too - Bronski Beat/Communards, and Paul Weller and Billy (and a kiss from him, no less!), are some of my very faves too.

Great posts from Atticus!

Hi WDW!I'm watching A Knight's Tale now. Yesterday I watched Ten Things I Hate About You. Heath is so beautiful in AKT. His hair is pure gold.

I'm off to see some fireworks. It's Independence Day in Poland today. We got our country back in 1918 after 123 years of partitions.

Something got into my eye in the morning and it still hurts. I need Gyllenhaals' help;)

I like "Boxer" a lot. Ach, those Irish... I wonder if Jake's been to Ireland.

Frog has a very unfortunate name, but she's lovely, very loyal and she'll lick your face all over any time she can get a chance.

Hi Paul - It really is a mind opener seeing how few are left now from the Great War. I think in the UK there are now only 4. Also makes me think, as I have a picture of my great grandfather taken at the Somme just a day or two before he died there. And then my grandfather died not so long ago as a direct but delayed result of something that happened to him in WW2. And all those women, left behind to raise families alone. It's good to remember.

Hey Atti! The Hot Dog :D Maybe Jake could make some more money lending you out as a movie dog. I hope you are reunited very soon but I would love to see you out in London's parks :D

Hi Anon :D Thanks for that! I have mixed feelings as it was very exciting to be involved in all of that but it was so depressing living through the Thatcher years and I am so glad they're well and truly in the past. I'm a big fan of the Jam and the Communards :D

Hey there Zodiac :D Sorry you have a poorly eye - I have a bad ear :( Oh I just love AKT - my intro to Heath and I love him in it. I've not seen many of the other earlier films because I kind of get stuck with AKT.

I hope you have a great time at the fireworks and that you and any other Polish readers here enjoy Independence Day :D

Hope you all have a good evening, my friends!

Sheridan's Brothers does address this theme which continues to be relevant.

Thanks, Pia. Can't wait to see it :)

I just came to se where my trafic originated from. I also overheard the kitchen personel talk about Jake & Renee Zellweger where I saw them, or rather my company saw them, I had my back turned and had to do this "I'm looking, but im trying to look like om not looking at them" move, but it sure looked like them.
I'm going to see if I can't get the name of the place, but it was in the bayswater/noting hill area.

Hi Jocke! Thanks very much for popping by and great to hear some more details. If you do remember where this was I'd love to know so I can add it to my Eating with the Gyllenhaals list of places to go.

Seriously though, I'm so glad you blogged about it so that everyone can get a glimpse of what Jake's been up to - he's been laying low for too long. Much appreciated! So let us know if you rememebr anything else :)

All the best!

Ok, the place is called Tom's Deli and has a website that dosn't show any of its interior.
http://www.tomsdelilondon.co.uk/

The full engish brakefeast was good, but i changed the black pudding for hash browns. it tends to fill up around 11'o clock ad you might have to stand in line in the deli part but then you can look at all the nice stuff they sell.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Jocke - thanks so much for that. I know that Deli and been in it a few times myself - very nice indeed. I've seen a queue outside the door. I'm with you on the hash browns exchange... So good of you to remember and get back to me, I appreciate it :D I may do a follow up post as people love to hear about these places.
