Now that's a hat! Jake and Reese shopping 21 December

Just like the rest of us, there's always Christmas shopping to do - here are Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon out shopping in Brentwood yesterday (21 December). I love the hat, Jake!

Many thanks to IHJ for the pictures - you can see many more there.

And here's a Sleepy Jake to help celebrate Zodiac's birthday today - Happy Birthday!

LOL, you love the hat? I was like "What is he thinking??"
The hat on it's own might be not the problem, but combined with those clothes? Hm... Weird...
Made me think of that hideous white suit/ white hat outfit Celine Dion once wore (wore? Is that correct?)

Gotta run - have a great day everyone!

Hey there :D I love the hat, Uli! I've got one just like it :D Thought I hadn't seen it for a while... You're comparing this outfit by one worn by Celine Dion?! No wonder you're running! Have a good day - I've had to come home again - I'm never to catch up on the Christmas jobs...

Hope everyone has a good day :)

^^^ I seem to have missed out a word or two in the comment enough, but you get what I mean :D

Good morning, wet dark!

He's so sexy with that hat!
Jake is with a look of a mature man!:):)
I remember that Heath wore fedora.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Morning Monica! You're right, Jake looks very sexy in that hat, sigh... I hope you're feeling ok :)

Monica said...

Wet dark, my face is horrible!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

The marks will go, Monica, but I know it's so hard. I was covered and now I only have one tiny mark on my face. I hope you have some good cream and some comfy pillows. I'm thinking of you.

I love, love, love the hat. He wears it so well. Spooky since I was wearing my red, faux-fur white trimmed cowboy christmas hat on Thursday all day, may send you a pic later WDW.

I've just gotta say I love seeing him so relaxed and happy - must be the company he keeps;D. That smile goes a long way.

Jake and Reese do shopping well. Usually most couples look miserable when shopping but they're experts I guess. I hate shopping and have dreaded doing my christmas shopping but can put it off no longer. Funny also that my word is 'shpolor' which I definitely do not intend to 'shopalot'. Wish me luck :(

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sheba! It's the hat season :D I hate Christmas shopping myself, it does make things easier when there's two of you. I'm behind too, as I've been ill. It'll be beans on toast at this rate for Christas dinner! Good luck with the shopping :D

I love that scruffy Jake look. But I would ah hum like to fix his fly. He looks good in the hat though. But I thought I once saw Reese in a hat like that.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Gail! Yes, it is a little ahem distracting... I think I've seen Reese in a similar hat, but black.

Oh I love the hat on him - the way he looks in that third pic makes me absolutely feverish. What a gorgeous neck. The first pic is beautiful too - so holiday-ish, with the red bows and greenery, and amaryllis. Thanks, WDW! :) My word verification today is surga, visions of surging dancing through my head. lol Sorry!

Anonymous said...

Ok I am not the only one!

Yes, Jakes neck drives me crazy, that little chest dip where his shirt is open and from there up.

there I said! I feel better now

Anonymous said...

Me too, I feel better when I say these foolish things. It's good to get it all out. I do love the shirt and maybe just a little peek of chest hair, and a man's hair at the back of his neck under the hat. Yum! ;)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi 15:44! I love that first pic too, really Christmassy. And you're not the only one who loves Jake's neck... well, I find him all pretty irresistible to be honest :D Definitely best to get it all out! I love the way Jake's hair sometimes curls across his ear - sign.

Hello 15:54 :D That's one of my favourite places too - I feel like I'm getting a little hot under my collar now!

My word is proffect, and yes he is :D

Anonymous said...

:D more pics! Loving the hat on Jake. He looks so classic cool.

My word is dessive...hmm.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi there Get Real! I hope you're enjoying the holidays too, in the snow? I love the hat. For someone who has such beautiful hair, he doesn't half wear a hat a lot! They really suit him.

My word is potions :D

paulh said...

So much to discuss, so litle time! :-/

If Jake wore a white suit, the suit would look better on him than on most other people.

A hat is just a hat. On Jake, it looks fine. :-)

Jake towers over Reese, in a genial (rather than intimidating) way. It's that good nature of his that makes friends for him everywhere he goes.

Yesterday was horrid in my neck of the woods. In the morning, driving my laundry to the laundromat, my car had trouble getting traction (like the other cars on the road). In the afternoon, I was determined to finish my Christmas shopping, so I took public transportation downtown. In went into Borders Bookstore, and bought a popup picture book of "The Tale of desperaux" for my great-niece, who will be three years old in February.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Paul :D Posting at the same time. Ahh, but there are hats and then there are hats... I think I don't think of baseball caps as being hats. I suppose I do think of beanies as being proper hats but this hat is definitely a proper hat. (I think the festive season is beginning to effect my brain...).

Sorry to hear about your atrocious weather - that sounds dangerous. We don't get weather like that here very often at all, thank heavens, but once we did (on my birthday) and we got in a taxi and before we could set off it just drifted down the hill and smashed into a neighbour's car. Not good.

This year is the earliest I've finished my Christmas shopping - I think it's cos I've had flu and been away, so I've actually tried to be organised for once. Still on the hunt for the perfect veggie alternative to the turkey though...

Awww, so sweet! I love Despereaux too, he's very cute. I may have to see it. :) I love the Jake towers over Reese in a good way too, protective. :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Anon! Reese is certainly very tiny. Mr WDW is a lot taller than me, too, and he tends to use my head as an armrest. I'm glad Jake is a lot more sweet than that! I've not heard of the Despereaux character.

Anonymous said...

I've seen the previews for the film, and it looks like a very cute story for kids, and adults too. Despereaux is a cute little mouse with big ears, who envisions more to life. :)

Oh, I know the one now, I've seen some clips. Thanks for the link!

Instead of going christmas shopping [anything to get out of christmas shopping] I ended up watching 4 Christmases with my 9 year old. Thanks Reese, I had to explain to him about taking the pregnancy test after he came about :DD words like.. in the cinema.. in an incredulous loud voice "Was it gross, Mom?".

I liked it, it was what it was and I could hear perhaps conversations she probably would have had with Jake about organic relationships and realising your place in it. Anyway, off to do the real christmas shopping... did I say how much I hate it? Get well all you Gyllenhaalics and enjoy the holidays as much as you can.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Sheba! You got out of the Christmas shopping then :D My word is sicio, which is rather appropriate his evening...

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, WDW! Being 28 is not actually that bad. I don't know how Jake feels but I'm fine:)I love the picture of sleeping Jake, one of the best presents I've got today. Thank you.

I'm not sure about the hat. I KINDA like it. It makes him look older but in a good way.

And I've never exprerienced the "towering over" thing. I don't know what the world of short women is like. Really.;) I guess I envy you 10 cm high-heels.

Christmas shopping is in full swing here. Thank god, I've already bought the presents. Today I was looking for a box to put the present in but decided to leave the shop. I was dizzy with the swirling crowds and "White Christmas". Then I spent some time reading Vogue issue with Reese's interview, standing in people's way and getting poked every two seconds. Most of this time I spent looking for the page the interview was on. Vogue is like one huge advert or something.

I had chicken pox when I was 3, so I feel for you, Monica. Good luck.

Still no snow.I can hardly remember my birthday without snow. The climate IS changing.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Happy Birthday Zodiac! I hope you're having a good day, not just shopping. Whenever I see a picture of sleepy Jake these days, I always think of you :D And 28 is a good age. Enjoy it!

Vogue and mags like that drive me mad - I can never find anything in them. A real pet hate of mine.

Have a lovely birthday evening with lots of indulgencies *)

My word is lickl :D

More great pictures.

That hat is really great and Jake does wear it so well. I can't help thinking of Heath when looking at the clothes Jake's been seen wearing over the last few days. Heath always had such a brilliant sense of style all his own.I have a hat the same as the one Reese was seen in before. I have so many my friends call me a hataholic:)

Going off post I would recommend Elvis Costello meets with Rufus Wainwright which was shown on UK Channel 4 last night. It's due to be shown in the US soon aswell according to Rufus's website. Rufus was so wonderful as ever and he performed a couple of songs including the wonderful Jeff Buckley tribute Memphis Skyline. Much love to you Rufus even if I was nearly late for work this morning staying up so late to watch you:)

Hope everyone has a good evening:)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Carol! I've been reminded of that Heath style as well. I like to see Jake dressing like this (still don't know about that birthday meal suit though...).

I wish I'd see Rufus with Elvis! Sounds wonderful. Rufus mixed with Jeff Buckley should not be missed. Brothers Grimm is on UK TV now. Have a good night :)

Phwew, just got back from Christmas shopping - so much better and less frantic in the evening :DD

Oh, and a very happy birthday to you Zodiac, same day as a very dear friend of mine. I have a fondness for Saggitarians so you just snuck in there ;D Have a wonderful rest of the day.

Would have loved to see the Jeff Buckley tribute by Rufus and Elvis, hope it's repeated over here again.

If I can wrestle the remote control from my son's hands I'll be watching Heath too - I do love that film, quirky and laiden with hidden meanings.

Have a fun evening everyone ;D

Jake is just huge in these pics - gorgeous chest, thighs - can't wait to see him as the Prince. I'm not tall and I'm not short, I'm almost 5'6" - love to be able to kiss that neck. ;)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Sheba! Late night shopping is the way to go :D

Ooh Anon - you and me both :) Can't wait to see the Prince and, yes, Jake is stunning here!

My word is foinobli - I like it :)

Thank you so much,Sheba.

I'm a Capricorn, it's the first day:) I get along well with Sagittarians, though. I've been surrounded by them all my life.

Jake is just huge in these pics

No, it's just Reese is tiny:)

Jake is 6 feet tall. It's not huge for a guy.

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey Birthday Girl - ahh Capricorns, I'm one too and I am very sure Saggis would love us! I know Reese is tiny but in some of these pics, Jake does look so sexy and powerful. I think it's the jeans :D

Hey, WDW!!!! (waves enthusiastically!) I am sorry you had flu! The weather in Michigan (Midwest) is just horrible. There is a particular tree in my backyard I am watching with prayerful eyes... hoping it remains upright for a few more months...
I LOVE Jake's new hat!!! He looks roguish to me. The internet is buzzing about the very colorful greetings Jake's birthday chef gave to the paparrazzi loitering outside his restaurant!

I have baked myself into a coma and hope to never see another cookie for at least the next 20 years. There are fewer gifts this year, makes wrapping much easier. My own gift to myself was Heath in The Dark Knight. Take care sweetie and be well. Remember: There will be adventures in the coming year nad it will be fun!

Forgot to say. I'm a Capricorn, too. (January 3rd.)
Some of my best friends are Sag...No, really. :)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hey! Waves at Bobbyanna! I'm sure you can hear me coughing from there :( Ooh, I hope your tree stands the storm. OMG, that chef! I couldn't believe some of the things he was saying, but I suppose he's a passionate cook. (I don't like seeing eggs wasted though, I prefer flour as a weapon :D). I bought myself TDK too. I love the comment about next year's adventures - I hope so, I'm ready for them!

Anonymous said...

I meant his muscles look big - 6 feet of gorgeous is fine too. ;)

Wet Dark and Wild said...

I do agree, Anon, Jake looks so fit and strong :D

sheba said...

Oops, sorry, I thought the 22nd was the last day. Nevermind, I'll extend that to Capricorns as well especially as the most beautiful-hearted lady in the world is one too... my mom. Hope you're birthday was fun and happy.

That chef is now my hero, I love Italians too, so passionate. WDW, he should have used flour too after the eggs.

I wonder, have they just swopped hats that day? I'm not so sure as Jake's humongous head and special hat sizes would have dwarfed Reese's tiny head, although, she's got all that hair tucked up inside of it. If that's the case it's cool, sweet and connected... just a thought... and I don't have many of those :DD

Hey WDW I am "shopping", as you can see ...

Austin's been sporting a cute fedora too, in One Tree Hill. :)

Now WDW we haven't had a good barney for a while so I have to differ with you about the definition of The Jeans:

The Jeans (WDW version): hideous and probably really soft and pilly old pale blue baggies with stains and rips, that need to go straight to the bin (and needed to a year ago).

The Jeans: (my version): Those chic and clingy dark blue ones that follow the line of The Legs perfectly ... mmnnnmmmm ... :D

Anonymous said...

My word is moriste, this is a person who wants more.

I like.

I'm with you on the Jeans, anouska:)Guys who have nice legs look the best in the clingy dark jeans.

Have a good day, everyone!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Good morning everyone! My word is butme - please don't :D
I'm late again due to this flipping cough!

Hey Sheba! It's an interesting thought but I don't think any hat of Reese's would ever fit on Jake's head! She has had that cap for a while and Jake's hat looks like a pressie :D I wonder if he got a jumper...

Hey Nouskie! Yep, busy shopping, I can tell... Hmmm - now you know I love the other jeans and you know I love you but you are WRONG! These old well-loved jeans make me want to cuddle him. The other dark blue jeans are a little too much to cope with.

Hi Zodiac! Hope you had a lovely birthday! Oh, it's a Jeans conspiracy...

Have a good day and everyone get down the shops while you can! I have to wash my car apparently... I can't see why. It's only going to get dirty again.
