Well! Who would Adam and Eve it?! We have a discussion about Jake Gyllenhaal and his Faithful Beanie, we implore him to leave it at home, just this once, and what does Jake go and do? He answers our pleas, gives the hat (and scarf) to Reese and emerges looking truly fine.
And not only that - intent on making it up to us - he brings out The T-shirt! It may be faded, it may be worn, a bit like The Jeans, but so good to see Jake has not yet demoted the well-loved postcard t-shirt into a car rag. And a shave too. Many thanks to IHJ for the pictures of Jake and Reese out shopping at the APC clothing store in LA yesterday (24 January).

Tell you whut! I looove the way Reese is dressed! Err, she should have maybe left her tiny golden purse/handbag at home *rolls eyes*, but other than that: pretty cool! :)
And Jake of course... TEH Jeans and THE T-Shirt (now that's what I call a faded print, LOL, you can hardly see it anymore! :D)- can a day get any better than that?
Have a great Sunday everyone - and you have fun with Fincher tonight, Jake! :)
Hi WDW! TD here! Yes he looks truly fine! I also noticed the T-Shirt. Just wanted to let you know I've been lurking faithfully all during Xmas, just haven't commented (sorry) on your lovely posts.
Did you see Mike Newell interviewed on Newsnight Review just before Christmas re: the effect of recession on 'medium-budget films' and mention BBM? I reckoned Jake was lurking behind the camera as they were on the POP set late at night, and Mike N seemed amused when he said 'films with a medium-sized budget like BBM wouldn't get made these days' (or something similar anyway!).
Also, I wanted to ask, I noticed a Jake-google-news item a few days ago from The Independant where a long article on Milk mentioned 'the stupid comments Jake Gyllenhaal had made about kissing a man'.!! I thought the concensus was that Jake and Heath had successfully avoided making 'stupid comments' during all the BBM hoopla - or is there one in particular that is regarded as 'stupid'? The columnist was quite nasty (which surpised me, as its the first time I've heard Jake's handling of BBM publicity being debunked). Pity. Anyway, he's looking so good! Yum. TD.
Nice to see hair and eyes (not in shades for once) and also the t-shirt. Shame he couldnt have completed the look with a smile or two but you cant have everything!
oh he had a haircut! maybe that's why the beanie is gone.
I have to disagree with you, Uli, I would never roll up my jeans like that, especially when you're tiny. And yeah... maybe she thought Jake was going to wear the beanie, so she... whatever.
Jake doesn't look very happy in the pics though. maybe he misses jogging :)
Jake looks fine when they come out of the shop, quite happy actually. I think it's when they see the paps.
Hehe, I usually don't care about the dos and don'ts of fashion, I only care about my own dos and don'ts there, so, contrary to some of Reese's usual choices, the rolled up pants didn't bother me at all. And I mean, what is she supposed to do when the pants are about 10 inches too long? ;) :D
Anon 10:52 - TD?
I don't know about that Independant article, but maybe they were referring to Jake's "Exfoliating!" as an answer to the kiss question? I think he used that twice - during the Toronto press conference and on one other occasion (which I can't remember).
Err, I just went to look a bit for The Independant and found the following article:
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/features/milk--a-movie-stuck-in-the-closet-1513088.html
(not so sure, if the linking will work...)
Quoting from there:
But the limitations of Hollywood's interest in gay people is shown by the way they reward a straight actor playing gay, and announcing, as Jake Gyllenhaal did after the filming of Brokeback Mountain, that being asked to kiss a man was an extraordinarily traumatic and upsetting task.
Actually I cannot remember reading or hearing anywhere that he said that... Huh?
Hi there everyone! Good to see you all - I've been out having another engagement with David Fincher - well, Benjamin Button to be more precise, in the same screen where I saw Brokeback with a bunch of Brokies :D
Hey Uli! Jake looks flippin great :D I was emailing a friend last night saying that I needed hatless pics pronto and, what do you know, a mere few hours later... I love the hair. It looks like it's been cut since the Globes.
And loving the outfit :D I'm not sure about Reese's - I'm a shortie and I let my jeans just drag in the puddles! I do think Jake should do her a favour and pull the hat off her head though...
Hi there TD! Good to see you again, glad to hear you've been reading :D Ooh, that's interesting about the Mike Newell interview - I didn't see that. Interesting comment from him too, I don't think I'd go along with that, but of course Newell has been making the very biggest movies lately...
I saw the article you mention. A bunch or rubbish - Jake and Heath faced a neverending string of 'kissing questions' and both dealt with it well, but probably not salaciously enough for some journalists.
Hi Anon :D Hair, eyes, shaven face, old shirt and jeans - perfect, so we can't have everything :D
Hey Winterbird! I love Jake's hair - shorter and all rough looking, and really quite red. Definitely no need for the beanie :D
Hi Anon :)
Thanks for the info on the article, Uli. I can't remember Jake ever saying he was traumetised - hmmm, the memory of the press.
Have a good day everyone! I have to go out again... Oh yes, I watched BBM again late last night, kind of like a Heath night for me, and it was like having a night in with a much loved old friend :)
I think Reese did us a favor pulling off Jake's head!!! LOL!!! The first time I saw rolled up jeans is when I watched Vicky, Christina, Barcelona, and noticed Scarlett Johannsen with rolled up jeans. I don't understand about David Fincher, WDW. Will Jake be at the SAG awards to honor Fincher?
^ OOPS!!!!! I meant Reese did us a favor pulling THE BEANIE off Jake's head!!!! Such a mistake!!! I am very embarrassed. In the extreme.
why did he dye his hair?
His hair looks like hair dye in the recent pics, he didn't look like that at the Golden Globe Awards
The only thing I can figure
His POP hair dye is starting to grow out, they dyed his hair for the movie.
now the color is starting to grow out
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Jake, you are so handsome! No more hats! (I want to touch his hair!)
Reese is stunning, and I'm just grateful to see them out and about again!
Back home and all my chores are done, thank heavens, time to get on with what matters - talking about Jake's hair :D Hi everyone!
Hey Anon! I know what you meant and yes she did us a big favour :D Tonight, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is celebrating David Fincher with a function, and Jake is confirmed as attending. A post mentioned it about three days ago. I'm hoping for some lovely pics of Jake all dressed up :D
Hi there Nick and welcome :) Jake's hair quite often has a reddiness about it, but it was a it red at the Globes and it's looking pretty red now. It was reddish after the Rendition filming too - it looked quite reddy to me when I saw him at the baftas. I agree with you that the dye was for the film and it's now growing out. I have to say I quite like it!
Hey Bandgeek! Jake's hair looks very touchable and very ruffable :D
Hope everyone is having a very nice Sunday :)
Tonight, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival is celebrating David Fincher with a function, and Jake is confirmed as attending.
Tonight? I thought the Santa Barbara was this next Friday January 30th. Today is Sunday January 25.
Ooh bugger! Thanks Calendar! You're quite right - clearly I need more caffeine :D I'll amend the post!
So the Fincher event is not tonight? This makes sense. Most of the people, including David Fincher, will probable be at the SAG event.
Yes, sorry Anon. Maybe if I bought myself a watch, I'd know what day of the month it is!
Oh good WDW. I thought maybe I passed out for five days!
17:44 that was me.
Hi Caledar! No, you're ok, but maybe I have :D Thanks for posting with a name - do keep coming back!
Oh, good to see Jake's hair, and the shirt, and the jeans, and the cardi!!!!
Hi there Get Real! Oh yes the cardi :D So good to see Jake today. I hope you're having a good weekend :)
Dear Uli and WDW, thanks for commenting on my comment and reassuring me about the remarks made in that Independant article (yes, that was the one I meant, Uli). I will try and post more often. TD.
PS Maybe Jake is looking sad cos it is 1 year since a friend died. Also, why all the fuss about the jeans being rolled up? She can wear them however she likes, I think; thats what Heath did with clothes, after all.
Hey TD! It'll be great to see you post here :) I just can't help myself from expressing opinions on clothes and hair, but yes Jake and Reese can and do wear what they like (just not beanies, not for the time being...) :D Thanks again for telling us about the Newell interview!
WDW I just can't help myself from expressing opinions on clothes and hair, but yes Jake and Reese can and do wear what they like
Thank you WDW. Nothoing wrong with expressing opinions. Opinions are opinions, they aren't directives or orders or commandments. They are just personal views and expressions and very important to making conversation flow on a blog. Its fun to review celeb's clothing choices, why not!
I'm happy to see Jakes grampa sweater, old fav jeans and the postage shirt. Are those the Boots? As for Reese? .. uh cute jacket. lol The shoes and cuffed pants and elf hat are awful!
Hey Tall Mouse! And welcome :D I love talking about Jake's clothing and hair etc - when you look that good you've got it coming! And I definitely agree with you about the hat! I think those could be the boots... :) I love this look on Jake.
I doubt that it matters any more what Jake said about kissing Heath in "Brokeback Mountain." That columnist is basically beating a dead horse, while the rest of the world has moved on. I feel sorry for him.
I'm glad that the poster for PoP will be viewable in "Confessions of a shopaholic." I wish it were visible other placea s well, but maybe they're planning to make it ubiquitous eventually? ;-)
