This post is interrupted by the news - not totally unexpected - that Jake and Reese's museum and shopping tour of Europe has today reached Paris! Many thanks to IHJ for the pics, and there you can find many more. Yes, that's our Jake!
No croissant was injured during the making of this post (except perhaps a couple).
And now, on with the post...
As a bikerchick, albeit a fairweather, occasionally reluctant (ie, the bikes are crap), bikerchick - I was delighted to see that Jake Gyllenhaal's flying visit to Rome's celebrated shops included a browse round a Ducati store. Do you hear my heart beating?
Ducati... surely a name to pump poetry deep into the throbbing heart and conjure up the vibrant smells of the beautiful Italian countryside as one floats above its lanes and freeways on a brilliant, red, two-wheeled machine. Only one thing on the planet can add beauty to this superbike - Jake Gyllenhaal. Admittedly, Jake left the store with a bag of disappointing size, but I like to think of Jake walking around LA with a shirt or cap proclaiming his passion (and forthcoming order) for the latest bike.
Jake has shown himself to be very much a towncar man - inevitable, I suppose, when one recalls that Jake keeps every conceivable sporting accessory in his boot/trunk. This is more of a problem with a motorbike - and I speak from experience (one has not biked until one has transported an armchair on the back of a motorbike).
Jake is also clearly driven by pedal power - and one can hardly complain when a side-effect is Spandexed Jake. And yet, with a Ducati, the potential for state-of-the-art protective clothing and materials is beguiling... And, being Jake, the odds are that he would buy the latest model (and not have to worry about owning a bike, from which, after every roundabout, you have to remove the petrol tank and give it a shake in order to progress to the next).
Riding pillion with Jake is also a tantalising thought and image - it is advised that, at all times, one must cling on. Jake was also spotted shopping in a wine shop - don't even get me started on that one...
I realise that as soon as I publish this, Jake's whistletop tour of Europe could have progressed... (and on this I have been proven right!) Includes pictures from IHJ.
NB, please could Ducati note the repeated reference that I have made to your fine product in this post... (I particularly like red but I'm not too fussy.)

Good night, wet dark!
Paris, Paris, Paris ... One of my dreams is to make a trip to Paris!
I am fascinated by motorcycles, especially for a Ducati, but I am very scared.
Night Monica! Paris is lovely - I hope you make it there sometime :) It's very sensible to be scared of motorbikes, they're dangerous things. But a big red Ducati.... beautiful :D Hope you have a good night!
Oh, his eyes are beautiful in that pic where he's pouring the cream - a little sleepy, and the bedhead hair, the rumpled shirt . . . can you see where I'm going here? lol Sigh.
Love the Ducati pics, and the Biker Jake pic. :)
Hi Anon :) I really like the vvafe pictures - and it's very nice to see Jake and Reese drinking real coffee out of cups instead of out of a Peet's paper cup! I'm glad you liked the biker part of the post - I knew it wouldn't be long before new pics!
Yes, very much so, drinking from real cups. Thanks! Nice pics. :)
Thanks, Anon :D Sorry for the typos above, I'm very sleepy this evening - I need that coffee! I love seeing Jake in a 'proper' cafe.
hmmm hmmm...Jake is so gorgeous...and such atmospheric feelings - everything from french cafes to italian countryside, with a whiff of motorcycle leather in the air. Its a grand tour. Thank you WDW. Sweet dreams.
Sigh, very atmospheric and nice. Love the French cafe, and the imagery of riding around the Italian countryside on a motorcycle (holding on tightly!). Love Jake's bit of stubble too, along with the rumpled shirt, bedhead hair, and sleepy eyes . . . we might have seen his lips too, if someone's cell phone wasn't in the way! Gorgeous. ;)
I did get the Blu-Ray copy of Brokeback Mountain, and am enjoying it very much. The beginning is lovely. :)
Bonne nuit, all -
Oh Jake, we are meant for each other, can't you see? You hate ironing your shirts - I hate ironing your (and my!) shirts... The perfect match!!!
But please do me a favour and don't get yourself a Ducati... Around here I heard the term yoghurt cup for bikes with that kind of plastic covering... You don't want to be seen riding a red yoghurt cup, do you? Why don't you get yourself a nice Harley or something? That might be boring, cause maybe so many other people have them... But I still find them much much nicer...
And please don't pull that hat so deep into your face (LOL, that's probably not the proper wording, but I hope you know what I mean...), just wear it so that we can see your forehead - looks much more perky, cute and cool at the same time!!!
And if you need any other advice, please let me know...
Oh, btw. I saw that you have been listening to me when it comes to shoes! Good to see you wearing those "real" shoes! ;D
But, are you really enjoying this "Europe in 5 days" trip?? Sounds exhausting to me and most certainly doesn't do Europe justice!
Have a good Sunday everyone!!!
Um, my word: stivenuf (=stiff enough??? Ahem...)
Morning everyone and, as Blogger is instructing me, 'fierstly' I hope everyone has a good Sunday - absolutely beautiful warm Spring day here :)
Thanks TDigs! I definitely feel Spring is in the air and I like the idea of coffee houses with Jake and then a ride round the countryside, sigh... :D
Hi Anon! Glad to hear you're enjoying the blu-ray disc - is it very different from the original? Jake gets top marks for the rumpled shirt :D
Morning Uli! Not more advice for Jake?! He must have a notebook full, but keep 'em coming! No, no, no for the Harley! They're for the 'more mature' biker, who just likes how bikes sound and likes a nice old-fashioned helmet with goggles (not that I'd turn one down...). Yoghurt cup??? Deep breaths.
I don't even own an iron, so Jake and I are made for each other :D
We get lots of tourists in my town who are doing the 'Europe in 5 days' tour and it looks knackering! Barely time to have a cup of tea and yet always time to hang around airports. But just the idea of being in Paris, Rome and Madrid for only a day... But if it's for work, you do these things. Mind you, I'm speaking as someone who went to Toronto from London for 3 days!
I wonder if anywhere is next?
PS The shoes are good :D
Have a good day!
Uli, cute post!
WDW, it's not different, just much, much clear, picture and sound. And the menu made teary, scenes from the film of all the characters, and instead of Scene Selection, they call it "Chapter", which I loved. I haven't watched the special features yet. But it was worth it for the absolute sharpness of the picture, and of course the sound quality - it's almost better than the theater because you're at home, but I still love going out to the movies.
^^sorry for the typos! :)
Hi Anon (I'd love to have a name for you) :D Thanks very much for that - I can imagine people listening in carefully to the Blu-ray version for all those words that Brokies have argued about - whether they're really uttered or not! I am glad BBM got this release.
I didn't hear any of the words people are talking about, but I'd be happy to listen again! Ennis and Jack are extremely beautiful in it, very clear, Jack is such a pure heart in it. All of our favorite scenes are even more beautiful. The dozy embrace especially so.
I love, love, love these Cafe de Flore pics of Jake and Reese. Sigh. :)
My word is hotisma, hottisima? I know I should come up with a decent name. ;)
You're making me want to see BBM again, sigh.. Ooh, a name would be great, Anon, I'm wondering what you'd come up with! :D
Such a beautiful day here, warm and sunny - I've been outside reading all afternoon with a bottle of San Miguel - gorgeous!
Thank you Anon hottisima! ;) Now Jake only needs to listen to me! ;D
I like what you said about Jack being a pure heart! It's true, in some scenes it really feels like that! :)
Hi Uli! Hope you're having a good day! I got sunburnt today, amazing for this time of year :) I love this talk of Jack...
