Is it because Jake is resting after his Europe on a (Big) Budget tour last week? Is it because he's been blowing up balloons for a party? Is it because he's been lent the entire DVD collection of the classic TV series Upstairs Downstairs and he only has 10 days to see all 200+ hours? No! It's all because we made Jake so self-conscious about his 'hat thing' that he now can't step outside the house for fear that we will give him yet more sartorial advice. After all, this is a man who loves his hats so much he wears one while he carries another...
But no more! If it gets Jake out and about again, then it is time that we gave The Hat the love and attention it deserves. We must celebrate The Hat in all its forms and colours. We must mount a campaign, to run in tandem with our anti-hat campaign, to bring the hat back, along with the head that wears it.
And, as for the other matter, the socks and sandals... Who cares? Jake can wear socks with whatever he likes, he can wear sandals with whatever he likes - he can wear matching hat, socks, sandals and scarf, or he can have stylishly conflicting hat, socks, sandals and scarf. Crocs even - crocs with socks (or should that be crox 'n' sox?). I wouldn't want to go as far as to say that the brown plaid shirt with bird motif is acceptable, but, truly, everything else is a winner.

Forget what I said (repeatedly) about your ridiculous grampa hats and horrifying socks in sandals. And your ugly-ass bird shirts too, I'm pretty sure I complained about them also. You can wear anything you want, even better, don't wear anything!
Seriously Jake, we miss you. You know it doesn't take much to make your gyllenhaalics happy, how about going on a walk with Atticus and Chris, wearing The Jeans and the postal shirt? We would be forever grateful.

Oh, well put, Olympia! That must surely do the trick. A fine bit of advise about wearing nothing - I particularly hope Jake takes that on board. I'm sure it'll be no time at all until Jake's out and about showing off his latest hat and we're gonna love it!

Olympia had two great ideas, Jake wearing nothing and Jake on a walk with Atticus and Chris wearing The Jeans and the postal shirt! Monica O had a great idea, too!

I didn't think the bird shirt was all that bad, but I have low standards anyway, so leave that aside.
I don't care much about the fashion aspects of crocs or sandals or whatever. I just don't want Jake to get cold toes from wearing too little when it's cold.
Hi Paul! I'm glad to hear someone's thinking about Jake's feet :D I think he'd be better off for that purpose sticking with boots or Nike, not that I'm biased or anything... Hope Spring's arriving where you are now :)
