[Updated] If it's Friday, it must be Rome... and Red Nose Day

Jake Gyllenhaal's quest for the perfect European Museum experience continues - after Madrid, where better than Rome? Early this morning, the Monster vs Aliens tour of Europe brought Reese Witherspoon, Kiefer Sutherland and Jake to the eternal city. Where next, one wonders? The Acropolis and Parthenon of Athens, perhaps?

Here's hoping that it's not too long before we see Jake travelling the world promoting his own movie! Pictures from Faded Youth Blog.

ETA: Many thanks to IHJ for pictures of Jake and Reese shopping around Rome today - I particularly like to see Jake in a wine shop...

'And now for something completely different...' Today is Comic Relief or Red Nose Day in the UK so, for all those who are up to something tonight, have fun!

Jake is 2 days late. Arsenal played a dramatic game in Rome on Wednesday but I guessed he missed it!

When's the tour hit the UK?!

Hey LJF! Good to see you :D The movie premiered in London a couple of days ago so I guess Jake missed that bit, more's the pity. How are you doing? Still following the gunners I see :)

Oh yum... Jake looks so gorgeous in the picture with the umbrella! Fantastic hair and just the right amount of stubble. So beautiful...

What exactly is Red Nose Day? We don't have that in Canada (well not in Québec anyway). It looks like fun. :)

Hi Olympia! I like that pic too - and no hat!!

Red Nose Day or Comic Relief is a big annual charity event that has taken place for 20 years and raises money for children in Africa and Britain. The shops sell red noses for charity and many kids went to school dressed in red. And it's on TV all night - some bits very funny and some bits awful but it is a lot of fun and there are lots of events going on tonight to raise money.

Hope everyone's having a great Friday night :) So glad it's the weekend!

Loved the red nose on Jake, thank you WDW.

It's the one day of the year when you see people on the street in fancy dress going to work in the morning and you don't bat an eyelid. At my son's school all the children and staff were dressed in pyjamas, slippers and dressing gowns today all day. Perfectly normal.

Actors, actresses, newscasters and celebrities all throw away their inhibitions and stuffiness and do the most stupidest things to raise money for charity on this day.

I got a manicure for £0.20p today because of comic relief. I also performed karaoke but didn't raise very much. A great day to be at work. What did you do today for comic relief WDW?

Glad you liked the pic, Sheba :D I saw lots of kids this morning in red pajamas and wigs. We had a wear red day and had a high tea with scones and lemonade. Very nice. Karaoke sounds far too scarey :D I enjoyed watching the English football team this evening, joining in!

Ah! Thanks for the explanations on Red Nose Day. What a great way to raise money for charity! Especially since a lot of people seem to be participating. Yet another new thing I`ve learned about because of Jake. That and Pancake Day. *starts to wonder if she should move to England* And apparently you already have flowers growing and trees budding. *is really jealous because her garden is still covered with snow* :)

Awww.... because of Jake. That goes for many of us too :DD

WDW, sounds wonderful and very civilised 'high tea and scones' yum - with clotted cream and jam?

My singing was scarey probably why I didn't raise much ;D Wasn't the England team great - good sports for sitting there and taking it? And The Apprentice.

Oh, Ricky Gervais is on, be back in a mo xx

Ugg, it's the Royals. Now what was I saying... oh yes. Jake has inspired, with his acting talent, personal interests [and yes, with his looks and gorgeous body] a new way of thinking and a whole new world that's opened up. It may be really small things but so impactful and immense. Because of Jake.....

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a good night :)

Hi Olympia :D I do love Pancake Day - so much so, I have more than one of those a year. Sorry you're still in the grip of winter. We're promised a warmish and sunny weekend, thank heavens. I hope it all starts melting for you soon!!

Morning Sheba! Definitely with clotted cream and strawberry jam - very nice indeed. I enjoyed the England bit and the Apprentice - and I repeat the Ugg for the Royal Family... Jake is a wonderful source of inspiration - a different way through which to see the world. And he's hot...

(((Sara))) Thanks for the hug!

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning all, what a beautiful sunny day. Hope Jake and Reese are enjoying the beauty of Europe.

A good night for Comic Relief last night - before I fell asleep the total was about £40 million so they did extremely well. I pledge to do something special for 2010 - god willing. Saw Jen Aniston and Owen Wilson asking for donations for comic relief that was so cool.

I have no interest in fancy cars and gadgets [not really... well.... a little bit ok] but I couldn't resist and got a Blackberry yesterday. Don't have a clue how to use all the functions but I love it already. Looking forward to using the internet on it so I don't have to come home to log into here. Yeah.... because of Jake....

The word today is rinsu (could it be ring soon?)

Hi Sheba! Ooh, a nice new toy. I love gadgets and have far too many of them. I think they made 57 million pounds in the end, quite a haul :D

Morning Monica! Have a lovely day!
