No doubt Travis (or at least half of Travis) would be very interested in Empire's newly released poll of the 100 Sexiest Movie Stars (Men). Disgracefully, Jake Gyllenhaal was only 16th (surely because a computer somewhere can't count) but one could argue that this is not bad going for a megahot actor who's set a new trend for movie delays. For once, a poll site has chosen a hot picture of Jake. It is therefore curious that some people, in the vote at the bottom of Jake's page, want him further down the list and not up. So vote, dear WDW readers, vote! Johnny Depp tops the poll and the pale and not very interesting Robert Pattinson is unbelievably No 2.
In a week where many people will finally get to see Doctor Parnassus, it's good to see that Heath Ledger is also on the list - at No 14. To mark the UK release this weekend, there is a new poster and a new website.
Half of Travis will also be happy to see that Jake features in another poll - he is No. 6 in the Wonderwall Top 10 Fittest Celebrities, pleasantly sandwiched between past co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel. Matthew McConaughey is not surprisingly No 1 and also not very surprisingly Robert Pattinson is nowhere to be seen in this poll.
Many thanks to IHJ for keeping us watered during the Jake Drought with some new old pics of Jake enjoying LA winter weather back in December 2006. When you look this good in a white t-shirt, it's only right that you enjoy year-round sunshine. There are also some new pictures from the Bubble Boy publicity - hmmm, appropriate, I'd call it.

I have no idea who Travis is but I can't believe one half of it polled it's audience on Jake! That must have been an awsome show! :DDD So who won? The story didn't say. I wonder which pics they used and if Jake heard about it. It's very flattering, they could have picked anyone.
Finally a poll that used a decent pic of Jake. It's about time! But 16 is wayyyyyyyy too low and those who voted he should be lower are blind. I'm glad about Heath's 14th place. Could somebody explain to me what is so special about that Pattinson guy? I absolutely don't get it.
I'm so envious of those who will be able to see Parnassus today. I have to wait till Christmas. *pouts* The only good thing about that is that it gives me a little more time to prepare myself for it. I know it will be emotional.
Jake looks great on the new old pics. Nobody wears a white t-shirt like him!

I'm with Olympia...so many things to say about this post! And I'll start off with that I bet her post is longer than mine today...(we'll see...I just started after all)!
I have some questions...please help:
1) When Empire asks if we think Jake should be lower or higher on the list do they mean lower as in closer to #1 or lower as in overall lower in status (i.e. closer to 100). I will be so upset if I vote the wrong way! Help!
2) Do you know if Empire magazine will have this poll in their upcoming issue - with that GORGEOUS picture - or is this typically an on line thing they do?
3) Where is Dr. P playing in December? I know it's out today in some places and I didn't think the US dates were set yet but if they are set for December I need to know! Help!
When I read that Travis story this morning I so wanted to see the pictures that were in the slide show too! Did Olympia not see my gazillion word comment last weekend about the Travis song complete with a youtube link and the lyrics?!?! It's not my fault...WDW got me going in this major Jake/Moonlight Mile/Travis direction and I couldn't stop!! I'd be happy to provide more info if you'd like...LOL!!
Yes, it's great that IHJ is providing pics during the drought! Maybe we'll see some new stuff this weekend.
When I get some answers I'll be sure to go vote on Empire.com with a goal of putting my #1 (Jake) and my #2 (Heath) in their right places!

I think when Empire says lower they mean badder and higher as better - at least I hope so as that's how I voted! I hope there will be a feature in Empire - I'd love that. It's such a great photo of Jake.

Morning Monica! I like that about Patty's flat face. He just has no charisma but then he just seems like a kiddie. I cannot believe Alan Rickman was so high in the list - er... why?? And agreed about Gerard Butler. James McAvoy does nothing for me but I know he is beloved by others here. Really, to be fair, Jake should have occupied the top 3 places at least.

I went to see Dr Parnassus at my local Vue cinema last night. A very strange movie that gave me very strange dreams: exactly what I would expect from Terry Gilliam. :D
Visually it was amazing and Tom Waits was excellent as the Devil - great choice. It seemed to take a while to get going, but that might have been because I was impatient for Heath to appear.
So lovely to see him on the big screen and having different actors playing his role on the other side of the mirror actually worked really well.
The cinema was almost full too - a good sign, hope it gets a decent run.
I recommend you see it if you can. If you don't like fantasy movies you might be thinking "wtf?!" a lot, but it's wonderful visually with a superb cast and very entertaining.

Rubes, thanks so much for the review - I was thinking about you last night. It souds like it was quite an evening. I'm not a fan of fantasy films as you know, so I would never see this film normally, but it sounds like I should give it a go. That's great news, too, about the busy cinema.
