Happy Holidays! Jake Gyllenhaal - beautiful through the Noughties

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate and happy holidays to everyone! And just in case you have a little time for Holiday Jaking... Safe travels to everyone on the move.

Always one to support Jake Gyllenhaal, Interview Magazine has understandably included Jake in its list of the Twenty Most Beautiful People of the Decade. And who am I to dispute this Indesputable Fact? The remaining 19 in the list serve as a control group, just to demonstrate - scientifically and objectively - how Jake is supremo. Never one to turn down the chance to analytically and impartially probe, it's time to dust off the clipchart and white coat and take an impartial look at the evidence.

But let's not limit the study to the decade past, how about the decades to come?

And finally...

Maggie and Peter attended the foundation ceremony of a new theatre in NYC yesterday, giving me the lovely Christmas present of one of my favourite pictures of the year.

Happy Christmas, WDW!

Great blog. Will be doing genealogical research in the new year, 2010, that is, to determine once and for all if Prince Dastan is really a McGillicuddy. We think there is a solid basis for the theory.

I'm entertaining the entire family this year. Goats, sheep, lots of donkeys. This will be just like the "real" Nativity. Except for the angels...lots of shepherds, tho!

Interview Magazine has excellent taste! Great post, WDW. It must have been hard to chose only one picture per year. :) And that`s a very nice pic of Maggie and Peter.

I hope to go see Parnassus this week-end, it comes out Christmas day here. I`m excited but sad at the same time. I`m sure it`ll be an emotional experience.

I wanna wish you and everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays and a safe journey to those who will be traveling.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all the Jake fans out there! I don't have much to report, except that I saw "Up in the Air" the other night. There is one jake link: J K Simmons, who played Doug Freeman's supervisor in "Rendition." By the way, I have to reshelve "Rendition" several times a week in my library, so I know a lot of people are checking it out...

beautiful pics, WDW. It's nice to see Jake blossom from a boy to a man!

I want to wish you and everyone here a wonderful holiday and a happy new year!

Merry Christmas WDW and all!

Decisions, decision - lots of good movies to see over the holidays, I think I'll start with Avatar, but I want to see Crazy Heart.

I love the pic of Maggie and Peter too, and Interview Magazine has it right about Jake!

Oops, forgot to say - hope you guys over in the UK and Europe are doing ok, I know you've had some bad weather too - we had 20 inches of snow from the last storm, but it does look Christmas-y! :)

Take care and Merry Christmas -

I looked up the theaters where "Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" will be showing in Massachusetts. I feared that the only theater that would show it was going to be Kendall Square in Cambridge, which is as hard to get to as some jungle in the Congo or Brazil. But I've lucked out. It will show at Waltham's Embassy Theater, which is just two blocks from amunicipal parking lot. I don't mind going there. :-)

^^Wow - that's great! The IODP is on my list to see too, at the top. Also Invictus. I think I'll see it at Kendall. Thanks for the info, Paul!

Happy Holidays WDW and everyone here who I've enjoyed celebrating Jake with all year long! Beautiful pictures indeed WDW...but only one per year?! How did you do it? Let's do a it again sometime and pick 10 per year at least...LOL!!

Thanks to Paul for the update on where Imaginarium is playing locally. Kendall Square is definitely not the most convenient location. The Embassy in Waltham brings back wonderful memories as it was the one theater that was showing Brokeback the longest of any in the Boston area. I saw it there for the last time of it's original run on March 13, 2006. When all the other theaters stopped this one continued and I've always loved them for that! Like Olympia I'm concerned about my emotions when I do see Imaginarium - I'll probably do so next week. I could never head out on Christmas Day to see a movie (the family would definitely have something to say about that - as it is I already bagged Christmas shopping 4 different times to go see Brothers - hee hee)!

Whatever everyone is doing enjoy yourselves! And here's to a GREAT 2010...I think it's going to be a fantastic one (for a variety of reasons)!

:-)

Happy holidays everyone! So so good to see you all. I hope everyone who's travelling today - like me - is doing ok.

Great that Dr P is getting around the US :)

I'm on cooking duty - sigh - so I'll be back later. Chocolates for every course :D

Love to all and glad you liked the pics - it was not easy picking them!

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to everyone at WDW! :)

Do go see Dr P if you have the chance. It would make a good Christmas movie - a very pretty, imaginative movie about imagination. Plus beautiful Heath.

Take care if you are travelling in bad weather. :)

ps Jake is hot in all those pics. But....I've always had a fondness for the MTV movies awards 2004 set. :)

Happy Holidays everyone from me too :)
Thank you, WDW, for posting those gems. Like Ruby, I have a certain fondness for the one from the 2004 MTV Movie Awards... He'd just started (or was about to start?) shooting BBM in Canada, methinks...

2004 was such a year for Jake - his beauty just blossomed. And the MTV pics are my favourites of the year.

Paola, thanks so much for your review of Brothers on MB - fascinating. I have a migraine and so I've been banned from my laptop (on my phone now!) So I'm looking forward to discussing it there with you tomorrow :)

Great pictures, WDW! Jake just keeps getting better and better and he's not even 30 yet! How will we handle the next decade? You are right about his beauty blossoming in 2004. And it's been full speed ahead ever since....Love the shot of Maggie and Peter, too.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all Jake fans and of course Jake himself!

Wonderful review of Jake looks through the years, WDW, thank you. And for everything you do, keeping us updated at all times. :)

Yesterday evening one of the Hungarian TV channels had Zodiac on at 9 in the evening, it was both a pleasure and a strange thing to see that at this time of the year (in Hungary, Christmas Eve is in fact the main day of the festive season).

There are some Christmas scenes in "Zodiac." (Of course, there are some Fourth of July scenes as well.) Maybe someone thought that made it a Christmas movie?

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Merry Christmas Livia and Paul! I do agree, Zodiac is a perfect Christmas movie :D

I'm going to be watching Iron Man this afternoon :)

This post is for BBMIswear and anyone else in the Boston area who wants to see "Crazy heart." It may eventually play in Waltham, but it's not there yet. The website for the movie only said "soon." There was no specific date. Sorry about any conclusion. In the meantime, four movies opened today that I will want to see...

Happy Holidays WDW and friends..Haven't had time to tweet ya lately what with Facebook Farmville making me crosseyed but I have to tell you this FANTASTIC news!
xposted..
My son's girlfriend went to the movies this afternoon with her sister...Kips Bay theaters (NY,NY) to see Avatar and saw JAKE GYLLENHAAL!!! Her sister asked if she could take a pic with him; he said not today. Kips Bay is a great theater center to attend... it's off the beaten trail...way off ...If you want you may take the theater location off your site to protect him in case he wants to go again there...but for I had to tell and squeeeeeeeeee:)

I am still screaming...neither my son nor I saw Jake...this is a purely visceral response...OMG!
My son is laughing his ass off at me and leaving a text to his girlfriend...he just told me this news...he forgot 'til now when he rememembered my Jake obsession...He's a good son:lol
love you all:)
