Jake Gyllenhaal to present at the VGA on Saturday and a WDW WDW Interlude

Brothers may be the movie that's now out, but we have a great reminder that Prince of Persia is not far off. Jake Gyllenhaal is lined up to present the main award at Spike TV's Video Game Awards this Saturday. In addition to presenting Game of the Year, Jake will 'present a very special look at his upcoming Walt Disney Pictures blockbuster Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.' And there's more - Zachary Quinto will also be there, which means - deep breaths of wistful longing - we may get a picture of Jake and Spock together. The picture below isn't of Jake and Zachary together but it could be.

WDW Interlude

Despite spending significant amounts of time in theatres this week, I have managed to get out into the big wide Disney World. While I've not seen much of it yet - something that will be corrected by the end of a very long day today - I have seen quite a bit of the world. Including Germany (thinking of Uli) and Canada (thinking of Olympia) and the UK (thinking of a pint of bitter and friends at home).

The Beatles were on hand to make sure I knew I was in the UK.

I went to the bottom of the ocean on the trail of Nemo, caught a lift into space (ugh,G-Force) and took a car round the Test Track.

I even did battle with the mighty Ibis of Mexico.

Today I'm off to Africa and then the Magic Kingdom in search of anything remotely PoPpish.

And if there's no PoP, there's always an alternative...

Hey, I didn't know there was a canadian pavillion at Disney World. Do they serve food there? What kind was it?

Are the Mexico ibises really in the restaurant? I don't think I could eat with those around, they're so big! I'll stick with the sparrows and seagulls that you can find here hanging around the restaurant terraces. Seagulls love McDonald's french fries. :D

I am so excited for the Video Game Awards (not typical for me at all - LOL)!

Great pictures from WDW/WDW! Brings back so many memories...it's been a long time for me. I love the pictures of the posters especially! 2 Jake posters at one time...bring on 2010!!

I saw Brothers again today...I needed something to pull me out of my anti-winter/anti-holiday mood. I can't say it was exactly uplifting (ha ha) but I am quite happy every time Jake is on the screen so I'll just think about that!

BTW - I remember a bit of talk about BBM playing at a university in Montreal this week (tomorrow in fact). I came very close to just taking off and going up there for a couple of days but it isn't working out so I now am staying put. *heavy sigh* Just a shout out to Olympia who I was going to peer pressure into leaving work early and meeting me there if I made the trip! How great that would have been! Maybe another time Olympia? I'm sure we wouldn't run out of things to talk about - LOL!!

Have a great rest of your Tuesday everyone! :-)

I'll have to put a reminder for myself to watch the awards on Sat. ALSO don't forget to remind people of Jake's appearance this Fri on Sesame Street.

I wish I were with you in Disney World. It's been a long time since I was there.

I loved the little seahorse pic :D so CUTE!

how much longer will you be in the magic kingdom?

I'm buzzed for you WDW that you had the opportunity to get to see Brothers before the UK premier - most excellent. Our embassador of Jakedom. How the heck have you managed to keep up on Jake news and post new comments whilst away from us?

Jake and Zachary together is making me go weak at the knees. Spock and Dastan..... hmmmmm.... all I need now is some chocolate :DDDD (A reverse Orio if you will - my favourite cookie).

Good times ahead for Jake and thank God we have so much to look forward to in terms of his up-coming projects, the work 'in-the-can' and his continued love of movie-making. I truly feel we haven't yet seen the best of Jake yet.

I would have loved to meet you in Montréal, BBMISwear, it would have been great fun. :) But maybe it's a good thing we can't make it, Montréal's gonna get up to 12 inches of snow tomorrow. Not really pleasant for traveling and since it's gonna be the first snow storm of the season, I expect things will get very difficult on the roads. I think I'll stay in (after shovelling all that damn snow, of course!) and sit by the fire.

I feel so much better about not being able to make this little trip to Montreal, Olympia. Thank you for sharing the weather report! We are expecting a snow/rain mix in the Boston area with high winds - chances are my plane would never have even left the ground!

There is a chance I will be heading up there in the summer...and if I do I will be looking you up!

I bet WDW is thinking "snow? rain? high winds? - Not in Disney World"!!!! Lucky girl she is!!

Hello! Popped back after an exhausting day having fun. And it's hot! Lovely...

Hi Olympia! There is indeed - they have my favourite live act at Disney too, Off Kilter, but this year their lead singer appears to be replaced - sob. Times, they move on. The restaurant is good and seems to serve a lot of salmon. It's quite hard to get into, very popular. I've eaten there once and I was tested by the waitress on Canadian mountains, of which I knew none. Fair to say though that her knowledge of the Lake District wasn't that hot either!

Those ibises are everywhere here but they particularly like burritos and so hang around the Mexico area. It makes a change from chasing ducks for the kids.

Loving the talk of you and BBMISwear at some point meeting up! That sounds like it would be wonderful :D But yeah, not this week. That weather - ugh.

Hi BBMISwear! OMG the posters - I was thrilled by the Brothers one and then I turned a corner and ther was Dastan! Sigh... I'm glad you saw Brothers again. Jake is a wonderful winter anecdote although Brothersdoes have a lot of snow in it.

Sorry to hear about that awful weather in the NE and Canada. Ummm, not like that here :D

Hi Sweetpea :D Definitely haven't forgotten Sesame Street :) I'm in WDW til Sunday.

Hi Sheba! Not been easy! I don't have much internet access here so just try and do what I can. I'm so excited at the thought of Dastan and Spock together! And yes, good days ahead :)

Waves at Olympia and BBMISwear :-)
