'Gorgeous' 'lovely' 'goofy' Jake Gyllenhaal pumps gas, 31 January

After all the excitement of watching sunrises with Oscar nominees, it's time to get back to the nitty gritty of Los Angeles life. Cars still need fuel, irrespective of how hot the driver may be. Thanks to IHJ, here are pictures of Jake Gyllenhaal filling his car on 31 January. Please note how I'm not mentioning that Jake is making a phonecall while manhandling a pump, a practice not to be encouraged.

The Princess of Persia, Gemma Arterton, has been talking about her handsome prince: 'He's absolutely gorgeous and lovely, and quite goofy once you get to know him. The film was originally a video game so there was a lot of pressure on him from the fans, but he really went for it - he worked out every day, on top of filming. I've got no idea how he managed it.' Source.

Next Sunday is the Superbowl. This occasion is a mystery to me but apparently it's something to do with studios showing extraordinarily expensive adverts for their films with sporting action filling the breaks in between. After several weeks of rumours, it looks to be the case that Prince of Persia will be one of the main players.

And finally...

Calvin Klein's designer Kevin Carrigan has been describing his inspiration: 'Personally, I prefer my men to be more masculine and sexy. I love Jake Gyllenhaal; Carey Mulligan the new actress from An Education, I think she’s got a great style. I also love Sofia Coppola who’s behind the camera. I would love to dress her as I think she’s amazing. The ck men or women are sexy, edgy and cool.' I think it's fair to say that the admiration is mutual.

Jake has also been posing with fans for some phone pics.

Includes pictures from IHJ.

"quite goofy" - oh yes! And I wouldn't want him to change a thing!

Lookin' Good! :-) at the gas pump (scruffy...but good).

Oh, the Superbowl *rolls eyes* I can't wait until football season is finally over (and it will be by 11:00PM on Sunday night - Yay)! I will be watching and recording, of course, in hopes of a PoP commercial. I'll just tell everyone I'm really into the football game (hee hee)!

Loving that people in sunny California seem to be using their cameras more while on sidewalks, gas stations, etc. Keep it up west coast people! Thanks IHJ and WDW!!

Hi BBMISwear :-) Yeah, Jake's just fine as he is :D I wonder if the Superbowl will show the trailer or something different... you must let us know! I updated the post with the link to the tweeter who took a picture of Jake with a friend yesterday :D Loving all the Jakeness!

Yes, Jake is looking comfy and sexy. :p Although I agree about talking on the phone while at the pump. :/

I like the comment from Gemma and Kevin Carrigan of CK. He has good taste!

Eh, I am glad New Orleans is in the Super Bowl but I won't be watching the whole game. I will try and catch some of it though.

Hey there Get Real! Very comfy and sexy, although I think he'd be in trouble working a pump while on the phone round these parts :) But I'll let him off because of the hair and jeans :D

Doesn't the Super Bowl go on for hours?

It's dangerous or not dangerous to use mobile phone at the gas station?
Anyway, it's always good to see Jake!

Wet Dark and Wild said...

Hi Monica! It is dangerous but Jake hides it by looking so hot! But it is a naughty thing to do.

I was just wondering, if POP is a big success then isn't it likley there will be sequels? Possibly a trilogy?

This would mean more long hair and more beefing up for Jake! Hard work! I'm sure he would be up for it though. I think Johnny Depp does POTC for a bit of fun imbetween his more serious roles etc.

I'm getting impatient for build up now. It is 112 days away though. Hehe.

Hey Silver! Three films is a possibility if it's a big hit. Although that's a daunting thought. But yeah, could give Jake that freedom to do all sorts of things and give him some fun too.

Counting down the days!

Film Experience Blog about Oscar's night:
most likely to wear something crazy: Maggie Gyllenhaal (Crazy Heart)

I'm sure if there is a PoP commercial during the Superbowl it will be a basic 30 second or 60 second commercial (footage from the trailer cut into a commercial). I just like watching Jake on my Big Screen HD TV vs. my computer screen so anytime I can record something to watch on my television I will do it. Even if it means I have to watch football...yuk!

Here's a quick (NOT!) rundown of the Superbowl: It goes on and on and on (as you thought WDW)! Starting right now down in Miami for "media week" (sports news coverage on all channels all week long) and into the pre pre pre-game shows (I'm talking 10AM that day and pre-game concerts and pre-game parties and pre-game everything). Then the introduction of players and legends and the National Anthem. Then...finally...the kick-off around 6:30PM and a little bit of football. Then a HUGE half-time show (this year one of my favorite bands of ALL TIME - The Who - last year my other favorite - Bruce Springsteen)!! Then a little more football. Then the awards presentation and press interviews and press conference and post-game show and post post post-game shows. Then on Monday morning many Americans are hung over and either call in sick to work or already took the day off as a vacation day. Those who go to work talk about it all day. On television there are more post-game shows. Then...and only then...football is OVER until August! I hate it.

Sorry I got a little carried away. It struck a nerve. I look forward to seeing The Who and Jake. I'll skip the football!

The mystical allure of football has always eluded me,despite having been raised in the US...
However, the allure of Jake in a POP teaser may make the endless hours of football worth it- oh-did I say MAY? I meant it will most definitely be worth it!
My husband is sure to be bewildered...

On a different subject, how come I never see Jake when I fuel up?
I,d keep my tank topped off like a good mouse and never let it run down to E !

Superbowl is MAJOR for many. Especially advertisers. SO POP will be part of it all. Very good move for Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer.

Jake shouldn't be using the cell while pumping gas.

Morning all! Lovely day - I'm spending it on the road and will, no doubt, at some point pump gas (translated: fill up my car with diesel), without a phone and without Jake Gyllenhaal - sigh...

Hey BBMISwear :-) Great description of the Superbowl! Doesn't seem to have a lot to do with sport... Super Bowl sounds like some kind of tupperware competition. I know some people watch it here but I think it mystifies many of us. Now, if you want a proper game that goes on for hours, cricket's what you want :D None of this showbiz stuff, you just read a book in the teabreaks. Chuckle :D

I am glad to see Jake and PoP a part of all the hoopla!

Hi JoJoo! Your husband will wonder why you've developed a sudden football pssion, that may strangely and quickly fade adter the adverts! Yeah! I'd never let my tank get low either...

Morning Sweetpea :D It does seem like a big thing. And you're right, he shouldn't. Next time we see him we must admonish him :D

Have a good day everyone! It's lovely to have your company :)

Safe driving WDW!

And I'd just like to add not everyone is subject to endless hours of football - just those of us who live with, spend time with, socialize with men who love football! (Yes there are plenty of football loving women too but I only know one personally). You make me laugh with your input on Cricket WDW!! I would love to throw out the idea of watching cricket to my 'football people' and see what their reaction would be!

Note to gas pumping, sidewalk walking, party going Californians: Keep the pictures coming!

I finished reading The Catcher in the Rye yesterday. I loved it, it was a weird mix of humor and sadness. And what made it even more enjoyable is that my brain decided that Holden sounded just like Jake. He he! It was just like listening to an audio book read by Jake. I love my brain ! :D

I bought Franny and Zooey too but my next read will be Ted and Lisa's Excellent Jake Adventure. Can't wait! :)

Oh! And Jake looks hot in the new pics but those jeans do nothing for his butt. Where is it? :D

There are tea breaks during cricket matches? LOL! That sounds so civilized. At hockey games we get beer and hot-dogs and poutine and other junk food. Do you have cucumber sandwiches with your tea? :D

Olympia

BBMISwear said...

I'm laughing at Olympia's comparison to cricket and hockey games (err...I mean cricket MATCHES and hockey games)! Yep, lots of beer at hockey games. The more beer served, the louder the crowd gets. And what's a hockey game without a few fights (both on the ice and in the stands - LOL)!

I am about one third through my reread of Catcher in the Rye and I am finding myself wondering why I don't remember a lot of my first reading of this book! I don't want to say how long ago it was but it probably explains why I don't remember that much. And I'm doing the same thing Olympia!! I am picturing and hearing Jake's version of Holden as I read! I recommend this to EVERYONE here - it's quite fun!

I can't wait to hear what you think of our story Olympia (and Silver)! I was in a phase where I swore myself off regular visits to forums (for a variety of reasons) during the time I met Jake so I wasn't here or much anywhere on line to read people's thoughts. I heard great things through friends that did visit forums and blogs and months later finally started reading and commenting to the many comments left for us on LJ. I need to get back to that and do some more - it always makes my day when I do that!

Never enough time, never enough.

Happy Friday everyone. Are you there yet WDW?!

:-)

The only thing I like about the Stuporbowl is that while it's underway, the roads are less crowded.

My generation did not grow up with cellphones in our ears/pockets/hands. Those of us who have them now had to start using them at some point. Yesterday, someone dropped his cellphone on the floor near the DVDs, and it made a racket when it started to ring. :-(

There's a new generation of electric cars that will be introduced next Fall. If Jake gets one, he'll plug his car into his electrical outlets instead of pumping gas into it.
