*** For all Brits out there, do go out and buy the Times today (Saturday) - a stunning spread on Jake! ***
You know it's a good day when you open up your daily broadsheet, and there, joyfully distracting you from anything remotely electiony or volcanoey, is Jake Gyllenhaal spread across two pages, in full and striking and big colour, complete with a full interview. You can read the full interview at the Independent. But, I'm sure you'll agree, if there's any movie star worth dropping your porridge on while you read the papers over brekkie, it's Jake.
'More women flirted with me when I shaved my head as a marine in Jarhead than when I got big muscles and had long hair in Prince of Persia.' While I appreciate that this verdict is the result of Jake's detailed analysis of his flirting spreadsheet, I would like to point out to him that this is because Jake was in a desert for 6 months, with women greatly outnumbered by stunt doubles. Give us half a chance, Jake, and we'll flirt.
I liked this tribute to Paul Newman: 'I don't think I've met a more decent human being.' And also when Jake mentions that he did take a photo of himself after he completed his initiation jump - of 35 feet - he was so proud of himself. 'Happy is a funny word' is a more complex statement to understand. There's still time, pop down to the local shop and grab a copy.
I'm really pleased to say that there are more videos today to add to the Prince of Persia scrolls. I enoyed this one below from InStyle, in which Jake and Gemma Arterton manage to bicker with each other's answers even though they're not interviewed together!
Incidentally, who'd have thought that if you went to Marble Arch at the end of London's Oxford Street, you'd be confronted with a 12 foot Prince of Persia made entirely from sand? Considering our weather this week, Oxford Street could have its very own sandstorm tomorrow...
In this video from E! Jake talks about his muscle gain and says it's nothing that 10,000 repetitions can't give you. I think I'll stick with the washing hair regime. Jake does say that having long and greasy hair makes him empathise with women more - er, thanks, Jake, maybe...
If you're in the UK, do go out and grab your copy of the June edition of SciFi Now. It has just reached the shelves and it has six glorious PoP pages.
The US is getting a run of TV spots and thanks to IHJ we have a couple more to enjoy.
In a complete change of tack, this video below presents a bunch of people spurring on cyclist Levi Leipheimer as he goes for his 4th consecutive win at the Amgen Tour of California. You can find Jake (Actor Extraordinaire) around the 4:30 mark.
I feel like I'm catching up a little but there's quite a bit more to do before Monday, when the PoP tour reaches Los Angeles!

176 people have voted, it's so pathetic the way people give it 1 star!
Silver
Hi Silver! I have a feeling that in that silly vote noone has even seen the film! Ooh a PoP TV spot! I've not seen on yet.
Hope everyone's having a lovely Friday!
Hey WDW. Saw you with Alex Zane on Sky Premier at the PoP premier. Loved the interviews with cast and crew so much so I watched it again on Premier +1 :DD
i don't know if this has been posted but i thought this was really cool and showed how down to earth jake really is.

he is such a goofball when he is dancing.
Hi BC89 - yes, we talked about that the other night. I'm not keen on such intrusive filming. Jake should be left in peace to enjoy himself.
OMG Sheba! Really? I did have a chat with him as I was asking him to make Jake turn round on the stage to say hello to us and he said he'd do what he could. Alex also hosted the Friday screening. He felt like an old friend by Sunday! I don't have Sky but I'm at my mum's tomorrow who does, so I wonder if this is the same thing that's on there tomorrow?
Hello!
Haven't had a moment to read through the post yet but something exciting happened when I just got home & I had to share!
A friend of mine sent me a 'surprise' and all week she's been teasing me about getting it but wouldn't give me many hints. Well the package arrived today and it was a PoP coffee mug! I am so excited I just had to share it with you all!
Will be back later to comment on the post.
Also Jonathan Ross is on in the US tonight. Looking forward to watching it on TV instead of youtube!
Another full to the brim post WDW! Thank you! Speaking of full to the brim...a PoP coffee mug Leslie?! That sounds wonderful...what a sweet friend!!
That picture in the Indie is gorgeous - thank you for sharing!
I've seen a lot of PoP commercials and it always makes me stop in my tracks and gasp. It reminds me of all the Brokeback commercials I use to see...I seriously would freeze whenever one came on. The little things that can stir us, huh?!
I've got the DVR set for Jonathan Ross tonight. Of course I've watched ig on youtube but that's never as good as the big HD screen TV! I think I'll be watching that one a few times.
WDW...that was an amazing sand statue...Wow!!
I am absolutely carving out some relaxing time this weekend to watch all the PoP vids and read the articles I've flagged. Starting right now! Until next time... :-)
Morning all! Just about to head out on the road for a while but just bought the Times and it has an amazing spread on Jake - stunning! Do try and get your hands on it, Brits! I'll do my best to scan it tomorrow when I'm home.
ooh, a PoP cup sounds fab, Leslie!
Hi BBMISwear :-)Those little things :D I hope you enjoyed seeing JR on your tv.
Catch you later!
I gotta buy The Times now? Ugh! No problem with the Indy, no way to The Mail, but I guess I can get The Times if you promise not to tell anyone?
I was watching Identity with my other fave John Cusack last night on Bravo. The entire evening's viewing was, as the voiceover said: 'Sponsored by Prince of Persia - Sands of Time'. So that meant Jake at every ad break. Nice. :D.
Good Morning!
BBMISwear: I still let out a little squeal every-time I see a PoP ad on TV. Vh1 was showing them a lot the other night.
I really enjoyed watching Jonathan Ross on TV in fact I caught it twice last night, once around 10:30 and again at 3am. I even had some of my friends watching it too. They all think Jake is very funny :-)
Here's a link for the PoP coffee mug, it's fantastic. Starting off every morning with Jake, what could be better? ;-)

Hi everyone! Watching Brothers :D
Hey Rubes! Ooh, who needs a movie when you have ads that good! It is a lovely picture in the Times - I love seeing Jake all over the big papers :D
I have my eye on that mug, Leslie :D I'm glad you and your friends enjoyed JR!
The Sky PoP special is at 6pm on the Movie Premiere Channel.
WDW: I watched Brothers today too!
Am I the only one who thinks about how much fun it would be to go ice skating & play in the snow with Jake while watching that film? ;)
I highly recommend getting the coffee mug. I used it this morning, it made my hangover a bit more bearable!
