Jake Gyllenhaal watches Celtic win in Boston - and actors taunt Jake with Mars Bars in desert

Jake Gyllenhaal continued to prove that he is both Laker and Celtic fan last night by attending the game between Celtic and Orlando Magic in Boston. And Jake did such a good job of distracting those Orlando players, Celtic won.

Jake also managed to conduct a brief interview, no doubt at the exact moment as the winning throw. Good to see Chris, by the way!

Prince of Persia is full of fine actors, many of whom are Brits who have many a story to tell about working with this Hollywood moviestar. Amongst them is Brummy Steve Toussaint, who played knife-thrower Seso. Here he recalls:

'Jake carried on his training during filming. We’d be driving back to Marrakech from filming in the desert and we’d see him in the distance, running along beside his car! So we drove up and waved our Mars Bars out the window at him. He was very dedicated. We all had, shall we say, ‘toilet issues’ while we were there but he carried on filming throughout. He’s a lovely bloke and very funny. Some megastars like to distance themselves from the rest of the cast, but he was very down to earth.' [I am sorry for mentioning 'toilet issues' so early in the morning...]

No wonder Jake's said he could have torn the heads off people for a bar of chocolate - he was getting taunted with the things. But who'd have a bar of chocolate when you could be running alongside a car through a hot desert instead? No brainer, really. Judging from this picture below, maybe Jake has allegiances in a third state - or is he just indicating to Chris how many dollops of ketchup he wants on his hotdog?

Many thanks to IHJ for the pictures and for the video! More later.

I was watching that game last night, I knew he would be in the game, but it was a surprise to see him be interviewed.
The good thing is that I could see Jake all the time because he was sitting next to the team of Orlando, and had a moment that the TV show Chris.
I love Chris!

have a great day!

Hi Monica! Jake was in the perfect seat for being spotted - and doesn't he look gorgeous?!

Not long now, Leslie! And what a week ahead :)

I do worry about what this glorious hot sunny weekend will do the box office. I am a lobster! In terms of sunburn, not in any other way :D

:D nice pics, thanks WDW

I've been wondering about the box office too :/ i really want it to do well. It probably won't get it's predicted gross, but it may get top. I know the whether is going to get a bit cooler next weekend so hopefully more people will go see it then, after word of mouth has spread. I'm a red-head so it's shade shade shade for me 8-)

Oh please forgive me, but as a die hard Celtics fan I have to correct you. Its the Celtics(plural) and in basketball its not "winning throw" but "winning shot". I was watching the game and the interview with Jake was during one of many Celtics winning shots. They also did something really neat with a scene from POP. Espn showed a POP scene with Jake and one the Celtics' hall of famers, Kevin Garnett, interspersed with both protraying warriors of the past and future.

Hi Silver! I think the weather will be cooller next weekend (it is a Bank Holiday after all...) and so I'm sure more people will go then. I'm sure people may be going to the cinemas in the evening to cool off though - it's so hot in my flat. I am bright red unfortunately...

Thanks for the corrections Celtic Fan! I am hopeless about US sports and my long-suffering North American fans have to endure me translating everything into cricketing terms :D Interesting Celtics is plural for this team. Over here we have a Celtic football team (singular).

Thanks so much for the info about the other PoP spot during the ESPN coverage - love to see that!

Thanks Linda! Glad to hear it :D I did, thanks, hope you are/did too!
