Despite Jake Gyllenhaal's intense Work Out and Eat Out regime, he admirably managed to put in some extra hours at the Medical Center in Beverly Hills yesterday (22 June). Unfortunately, for this excursion, Jake modelled knitwear rather than muscles. Source.
And now updated with more pictures of Jake looking hot in layers. Big thanks to IHJ - there are plenty more pictures there.
Huge thanks to Uli for sending me the German comic Micky Maus, which dedicated a recent issue to Prince of Persia. I would like to point out, though, that for those who aren't so familiar with Jake, this isn't Jake on the cover - it's a duck.
What makes this comic extraordinarily powerful is that it comes with the Dagger of Time itself. Not only that, it has some sand in the handle. I can also vouch that it does indeed work. I don't have much sand left, so it's a good job England won the match this afternoon. Here is a photo of my Dagger of Time, with a clanger for scale.
Here are the vital answers to the PoP quizzes and tests above.
Pictures from links and WDW scans. Danke Uli!
Congratulations to England and the USA for going through today! We may see Jake in South Africa yet!

hi wdw,
i agree, congrats to england and usa....jake looked gorgeous yesterday..as usual..even though he was covered up...is it just me...or has jake developed this aura about him...he just looks so good at the moment (i know he always does) but lately there is something more..about him...i cant put my finger on it..but he just looks more 'exclusive'than usual...i know not making sense...but he just looks more mature i guess.
i'll stop waffling on...back to the tennis now..federer playing later...should be good.
oh yes, before i forget, you can buy the british version of that pop magazine in newsagents, supermarkets etc...im not sure whether you have one or not...but it also has the same dagger..with sand.
He really does, Sabina! Glorious :D
I'll watch Federer later, although I think I'm worn out sportly speaking!
Really?! There are other Daggers?! We won't know whether we're coming and going with all this time-shifting. I must have a look because then I could have two daggers (twice the sand)...
Would love to hear from Jake whether he's watching the matches :D I bet he was on the edge of his seat for the USA won this afternoon. I had to distract myself from the stress of the England one with doing a post!
The goal of the U.S. almost made me crazy! Very good!
Congrats England and USA!
Hi Monica! A great afternoon - I'm glad I took the afternoon off now!
hi! :D
congrats to england and usa! ,
I can't understand why even being covered up, Jake Looks so hot!
I love the dagger, I'm gonna have to wait until july to buy it cause its not available in mexico! :(
I know it sucks :P
have a funny day!
Hi Linda! Jake looks hot in and out of clothes :D Chuckle! I hope you get hold of your dagger soon.
I've ben pressing the jewel - did anyone notice?
I'm watching the longest tennis match in history (literally) - it has actually made time stop!
Congrats to USA and England for going on. WOW you got the Sands of Time WDW! I bet the Prince should be showing up soon to get it back! (that was your plan all along wasn't it? :P)
I gotta ask why is Jake wearing all these long sleeved shirts! It's HOT outside. You can't tell me it's not hot and humid in sunny calif. It's 93F here and I'm wearing shorts and a t shirt, I couldn't imagine even looking at one of my sweaters right now without bursting into a puddle of sweat.
I still wonder what he goes to that medical office for.
great pics anyway as always (and don't be surprised if your door gets torn down when the Prince shows up for that dagger!)
sweetpea
Updated post with some more pics from IHJ - plenty of others there to enjoy too!
Hi Sweetpea! I'm fully prepared for when Dastan arrives to claim back his Dagger :DD
Looks like LA is quite a bit cooler than us all at the moment (although it makes up for it by being quite a bit hotter than us during the winter...). It's due to be very hot here this weekend and so yet again I will be lamenting that the UK has not invented air conditioning yet. There's only so much I can do with a window.
I do sometimes think that Medical Center visits coincide with developments in work/publicity tours etc. That Center has a huge array of services on offer so Jake could go there for just about anything, maybe even a loaf of bread. But there's always my other theory that he's a second jobber!!
This tennis match refuses to end and now Germany are playing Ghana. Too much sport, not enough me. Mr WDW is working away in London at the moment and he just called me from Soho and all I could hear in the background was 'Inger-er-land!!'
^^^ I put one too many 'er's in there...
OMG! We just had an earthquake here! 5.7! That was scary, how do Californians deal with this on a regular basis?! I couldn't!
Maybe it was caused by those new Jake pics! :) You'd never guess how buffed his arms are under that sweater. He looks great. :)
Olympia
OMG Olympia! An earthquake in Quebec! Blimey... Glad you're ok. It is shocking, I've been in a few. I don't knoow how they cope on the west coast either. Maybe they have extra inner balance. You're right though - it could be because of Jake's biceps - earthmoving.
Have a cup of tea! (or something a tad stronger)
Olympia, do you live in or near Ontario? I have an online friend who reported an earthquake there a little while ago.
Jake may just be the fittest actor in Hollywood, so it stands to reason that he would look good in almost anything.
He really is, Paul :) And it's not just for roles - Jake is genuinely athletic and healthy all the time. I don't know if I mentioned hot.
It was scary but everybody's fine, we're just really not used to this. :) We were very close to the epicenter but fortunately there doesn't seem to be any damages, just a lot of rattled nerves. One of my coworkers was pretty shook up though, too bad we don't have anything here stronger than tea. :D
Congrats to the US and England, Canada never makes it to the World Cup. I know for a big part of the world, this is like your Stanley Cup playoffs. :D
Olympia
Paul, I live 5 minutes from the border to Ontario. I hear the erthquake was felt from Québec City to Toronto.
Olympia
That sounds scary, Olympia :( Sounds like quite a quake!
I don't know what the Stanley Cup is, I'm afraid, but the World Cup is certainly huge round here. England came to a standstill at 3pm today. Interesting to watch all the old rivalries etc! Good time to go out shopping too :D
Jake has the toughest competition yet from that Clanger! God I love the clangers.
Are you watching the Isner/Mahut match at Wimbledon? Am.Az.Ing.
PS congrats for the Megan Fox comment I forgot to say before. She is ridiculous.
TD
ps. just noticed re the earthquake. In Quebec?? Scary
TD
Hi TD! I love the Clangers too and I thought Mr Pink Clanger was wearing kind of Prince of Persia armour.
I am watching the match - I flicked over to the Germany Ghana game for 2 minutes but this is where the drama is. I actually think I've been watching this game since Sunday.
Totally agree about Megan Fox. She doesn't have a single saving grace, and for her to say that just because Jake can do something out of the box, so can she, is like comparing a sumptuous 10-course banquet of delights with a stale toenail sandwich.
I don't think Isner is going to be able to stand up for much longer!
LOL! Sorry WDW, the Stanley Cup is a ice hockey trophy. It's the National Hockey League championship, you know, what all our hockey talk was refering to a couple of weeks ago. :)
Olympia
Ahhh, the mysterious world of The Ice Hockey :D World Cup is amazing if you have a team or anyone to cheer for. But right now it's all overshadowed by the most extraordinary tennis match - over 9 hours!
Isner looks like he doesn't even know what planet he's on now.
I see Germany have scored against Ghana. That's going to be some Sunday afternoon!
PS I'm only sporty for 1 month a year :D
Stale toenail sandwich?! Lol!
TD
Yep, TD, if everyone were a food that's what I think Megan Fox would be :D
Jake would be more of a luxurious tomatoey spicey hot flavoursome pasta dish with a lot of extras on the side and ollowed by a chocolate fondant and a mature scotch. Quite a difference!
What kind of dish do you see Jake as?
I would have to bow to your culinary expertise WDW - I especially love the chocolate fondant - yes - and malt whisky ;) touch at the end, very Jake.
Pasta I think is also correct - soft textured and cuddly - but as I'm very allergic to pasta this is why I can't be conclusive here.
:( For certain though is the fact that Jake is neither pudding nor candyfloss. 8D
I like this theme. I wonder what everyone else thinks he is? (apart from a juicy hunk of fillet steak - think that may have been said...somewhere).
TD
Sorry to hear about the pasta allergy, TD - not good :( I'm allergic to strawberries and I eat them anyway which is unfortunate. Fillet steak sounds good - pity I'm a vegetarian :D
Hi WD!
I agree that Jake does have a bit of an "aura" about him of late. I'd call it a "cat and canary feathers" look.
I think he has a secret that is making him very happy!
I do know it makes me happy to see him looking so obviously chipper!
Jojo
Sorry WDW, forgot! Let's go with the pasta allegory then. It is delicious stuff (unfortunate, as you say !) *|
I like the 'aura' comment, but I think its just his usual sleek healthy glow. I don't think he is catandcanary at all!
TD
Hi JoJo! Jake has a real self-confidence about him - and I don't think he's ever looked better or sexier :D I don't think he has a secret myself, I just think he's self-assured - very sexy!
Well, I can stick with the pasta, TD, and you can have the juicy steak :D I like that glow... sigh :)
Ah, so the Isner v Mahut match is your fault WDW. Stop pressing the dagger of time and let the poor guy win. He could hardly walk. I had to give them both a standing ovation. Fantastic.
May I ask how are you able to watch Federer's match. What channel is it on?
There may be some legs to your conspiracy theory about Jake second jobbing. Perhaps he's doing some research or moonlighting as Dr Jake. Can you imagine those blood pressure readings :)
Looking good Dr Jake.
Ugh, I just had another run in with a clueless reporter from the New York times, he wrote that Prince of Persia will be one of the biggest flops of the year. I emailed him and asked how could he called a film that has grossed nearly 300 million and the highest grossing video game adaptation a failure? I had to vent.
Jake looks great and the tennis match oh my goodness. That's dedication and love for what you do.
Hi there Sheba! I know, that red jewel is just too tempting to press. I must save my sand :D
The Federer match was also at the end of a red button - on Freeview. I only saw a few moments of that though as it was quite straightforward although he lost a set.
Good work, 23:42 :D It's nonsensical and complete biased rubbish for anyone to call PoP a flop when it has achieved its goals - just notwithin the shores of the US. These 'commentators' seem to have no idea that the rest of us exist! PoP is a video game movie and it is the most successful film of its kind, still popular across the world weekes after its release. But these people aren't interested in that because it would require looking beyond their garden fence.
Hello WDW. Just wanted to say something in connection with your post from yesterday: don't pay any attention to film commentators here in the US. Most of them think that nothing outside the USA matters, and it is best to leave them in ignorance. The fact that PoP has a GLOBAL audience seems to irritate them to no end... ;-)
Hi there Tpe! Good to see you :D You're very right - I should try to not let them get to me!
He tryed to scape but the paparazzis don't let in freedom!
