Jake Gyllenhaal in LA, 23 June, and how humour and being relaxed counts

It's been a busy evening - I've been organising a big event. It went well, the sun shone, and now I can come home and relax and enjoy the new photos of Jake Gyllenhaal driving around LA yesterday, looking hot with a capital H.



We also have a German interview with the one and 'only video adaptation of Dastan'. Jake talks about what it was like to film scenes with Gemma Arterton: 'Oh, those were the best scenes for me and we enjoyed them the most. It was all very intuitive and very fast. Some action shots took one and a half months; we shot the scenes with Gemma in half a day.'


'Gemma seemed totally unaware of me... Anthony Hopkins called this kind of chemistry between two partners simply "NAR" - "No acting required."...


'My main inspiration was, of course, the video game. Jerry Bruckheimer and Mike Newell worked mostly with books about the era and the Orient. We also had photos, drawings, of that time. Hard work in the film business is no longer self-evident. In America today you are a superstar and you could be dropped tomorrow, like a hot potato. Here in Britain, for example, the recognition is different: You are appreciated for what you have worked for and how you developed as an actor.'


Dealing with fame: 'I walk today, I'm more relaxed. I know better who I am and what I want. Much of what I do is fun for me, I also have a sense of humor that makes Hollywood much easier.'
