Jake Gyllenhaal is a 'top ten man hunk' and new filming in Marblehead stirs Moonlight Mile memories

Jake Gyllenhaal is indeed a worthy member of that Men's Health magazine's exclusive club - its Top 10 Man Hunks. 'Editor-in-chief David Zinczenko said of the ten: "They have a variety of workout regimes from boxing to weight training, kayaking and hiking to training for marathons. They've worked hard to achieve and maintain their amazing bodies - which is why they've earned their place on this year's list.'

While the hard work of actors like Jake, Matt McConaughey and Daniel Craig is not in question, nor the effort of sportspeople such as Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets, I've got to say, who on earth is Kellan Lutz? There are a few more I'm in the dark about too. But any list that's free of The Pale One is fine by me. So here's the list...

1. Kellan Lutz, Actor
2. Matthew McConaughey, Actor
3. Taylor Lautner, Actor
4. Zac Efron, Actor
5. Mario Lopez, Actor
6. Isaiah Mustafa, Actor
7. Mark Sanchez, Quarterback, New York Jets
8. Jake Gyllenhaal, Actor
9. Daniel Craig, Actor
10. Channing Tatum, Actor

I think it's only right that we take a moment to reflect some more on No. 8.

Marblehead memories

It has been reported this week that the movies are going back to the town of Marblehead, Massachusetts. This small, very friendly and picturesque town will no doubt welcome a new crew with open arms because they have such memories of 2002 when Moonlight Mile was filmed in the shops, streets and diners, and Jake Gyllenhaal and Dustin Hoffman came to town. I know this because BBMISwear and I spent too short a time in the town last year and the memories are as fresh as a summer's day.

You can read our full report of that incredible day here. When we went to Jake and Dustin's office - now a toy shop - the girl behind the counter told us how the town watched the filming and she told us how even the shopfloor that we stood on had been built for the film (we'd just caught it, it was about to be replaced). Framed newspaper pages on the walls of a cafe reported the excitement of having Hoffman in town, and the lady at the offlicence - then the diner where the crime took place - said she wanted to join us on our tour.

BBMISwear and I had such a welcome in Marblehead and Gloucester, I can't even begin to do it justice. I can completely understand why producers, actors and crew would select it. Just ask BBMISwear how she felt when we passed the railtrack crossing sign, immortalised at the beginning of Moonlight Mile, to the sounds of Sly and the Family Stone.

You can read part 1 of our Moonlight Mile adventure here.

Hi WDW, seems to be me again in pole position. (Speaking of which - wow, that Tour deF huh??!)

I think I'd like to visit Marblehead on my way to MV (on my fantasy world tour-now to include the Pyrenees). (It was meant to be just my fantasy East Coast tour, but we mustn't be afraid to dream a bigger...tour! *D.) Marblehead looks like such a classic New England type town and you and BBMISwear sound like you had such fun there...

Kellan Lutz is somehow associated with the Pale One too I believe. I saw a chesty photo of him the other day and there is absolutely no contest btwn him and Jake. HE is a Pale One in reality! And floppy and flabby. (well, in comparison to Jake). When I saw it I couldn't for the life of me understand why anyone at all, even the Pope, would pick the Lutz over JG. And is klutz a word in the US? Can you imagine him getting anywhere here with that name? He'd have to change it! The minute he dropped a...football for e.g., he'd be Lutz the Klutz for forever. He's a K.Lutz on application forms. Sigh, I'm being mean - after all who's good on application forms these days? Just as long as he doesn't drop a Clanger. Speaking of which...where is the Clanger Cameo, eh?! (asks a demanding public). :D

Kellan Lutz is another one of the Twilight posse I think WDW:)

Some of those names don't mean anythng to me either. Who's Isaiah Mustafa......but then again who cares when all ones attention is on no. 8:)

Hi TD! OMG the TdeF - how amazing was that today?!

Sounds like quite a world tour - the NE of the US is so beautiful, mind you, so is the west. So much to see.

Even though I've unfortunately and through no fault of my own seen Eclipse, I still don't know who this guy is! But I do know I saw no chest to rival that of no. 8 :D

The Clanger is negotiating for a good deal - I'm confident he'll e back shortly :D

Hey Carol! I have no idea who that guy is - absolutely never heard of him. What a group of people... but at least they've heard of Jake!

Once I was able to drag my eyes away from No. 8, I had another look at the guys on that list and I cannot understand how K. Lutz got No. 1.

Hi WDW,
I wish the TourdeF continued for longer, I'm so going to miss it after Sunday! Its just such a battle on so many levels, I had no idea! And those Pyrenees are just fabulous.

I'm so glad Clanger is still involved with the project.

TD
ps my word is pinging !

Ah Massachusetts. The setting looked like a small and intimate village in Moonlight Mile.

Only number 8 on the hunk list! The Prince of Persia deserves a higher placing. Obviously the Twilight buzz is pushing Mr Lutz up the list.

Sighs. We are experiencing our summer drought of new Jake pictures. But the hard working guy really needs his vacation so I will have to be gracious.

Thanks for the post WDW! Made my day interesting,as usual.

Cheers

Tui

Well to be fair, Kellan has always been in shape with the great six pack and Jake really just does it for movies after he can act too. And as mentioned before as long as the other guys from Twilight are not on the list, its a good list. Kellan is known for his workout regime and he is the new face or at (least his bottom half) of Calvin Klein. Kellan more of a body than actor. No offense.

OMG I am laughing so hard at those wacky pictures from our Moonlight Mile Tour!! Thanks for the great flashback...what a wonderful area it is (and as TD says "such a classic New England type town" - that it is)! I am on vacation in Maine at the moment so am feeling the New England relaxation mode even if it's not MV or Marblehead (close enough). Oh, and my reaction to Brad's railroad tracks crossing sign while listening to the soundtrack? Tears!! What a great few days we had...and now I want to do it again (and again)! What was the next Jake movie we were going to conquer?! *starts the planning process*

Thanks again for this great walk down memory lane WDW! I still plan to show Brad these pictures some day if our paths ever cross. Jake was with his wife at that dinner party...maybe Brad is off on location somewhere (??).

And, Kellan who?!?! *moves #8 to #1 where he belongs* :-)

Isaiah Mustafa does "Old Spice" commercials. If the first one wasn't during the Super Bowl it was around that time. They are a Hoot!
There's a site where he does individual hello's to people.

Of course Jake should be #1 but, who knows, if he does the Namath movie he might just end up at #1 when they do it again.

Hi,
Only #8? I can't believe this. I guess teen power has to do with this sorting.

I'm a fan of the Murder She Wrote series, I specially like Cape Cod chapters. But I believe they were not shot in Maine.... With you comments about Maine, I feel like going there and visit even more.

I watched Toy Story 3 yesterday with the family. I really enjoyed it and the kids did too! I recommend it. Before the movie they showed a trailer for Disney's Tangled (Rapunzel movie)and it was funny when I saw Flynn Rider climbing the tower with arrows it reminded me of Dastan. He,he. :-D

Morning all - summer's gone and got muggy...

Morning Carol!

Hi TD :D I'm really gonna miss it too - even more than the World Cup. It's been somethig else to watch it every day. And France has been looking good too.

Hi Tui! He does deserve his break but I reckon that must be enough!

Hey Jake Fan :D That's true - Jake doesn't keep the full six pack all the time (sounds like too much hard work for me) so it's good he's on a list with people who always look like that. And yep, thank heavens other Twilighties aren't on this list :D

Morning BBMISwear :-) I'd love to 'remake' another Jake movie! I quite fancy doing Zodiac (the non-scary bits). I'll leave the re-enacting PoP to you! I'm not so sure I'd be good at parkour...

Be so great if Brad could see our report - I think he'd like it :) I'm not sure what he's up to at the moment (I realise I'm one of the few who adored Land of the Lost!)

Hi 00:41! Thanks for the info - I don't think we see those ads over here. I'd be very interested to see Jake's bodyshape for Joe Namath :D

Hi there Eureka! The Cape Cod area is absolutely gorgeous - very close to MV of course. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Toy Story 3 - I'm going to try and fit it in this weekend, although it's a busy one.

Have a good day everyone!

Wow! I just read last year's post.

How great! It's such a great idea and a perfect excuse to visit new places. Jake connection rocks!

BBMISwear, I love your T-shirt! Where can I get one?

Still waiting my movies order, Good Girl was not in stock. Hope they arrive now soon!
